00:00The southwest is already feeling like summer. We're seeing 110 degree heat right now and Las Vegas is hitting its
00:05first 100 of the year. It's the second heat wave of the season and yes, records are already being challenged.
00:11Across California's Central Valley, several cities are pushing close to records Tuesday, including Fresno's first triple digit high of the
00:17year. But it's not just California. Records could be tied or broken in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and even
00:22Wichita. If you want relief, head to the California coast. That's where highs stay in the 60s and 70s with
00:27that ocean breeze. But inland, this heat hits hard.
00:29shorter than you might think. Your body isn't used to it yet. So hydration and shade are key. And with
00:34dry conditions, wildfire risk is climbing while snowpack just melts away in the West. But by Wednesday, this heat spreads
00:41north into Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. And by the end of the week, it pushes into the Southern Plains. So
00:46summer heat, it's not waiting this year.
