00:00step up to be the dominant guy and he's just been that here in 2026 and his last race on
00:05a 250 ac
00:06last race on a 250 what a journey it's been it feels like it's gone by so quick it seemed
00:12like
00:12he was just making his debut he really was only only a few years ago now just the steps he's
00:19made
00:19along the way and he had so much hype coming into the pro ranks it was hard very difficult to
00:26live
00:26up to that expectation and i would go as far to say he's even surpassed the expectation that he had
00:32coming into the pro ranks deaconsman fast qualifier seven of nine rounds this season he's third all
00:39time on the wins list with 14 wins continues to see that stat earlier that that we went fast our
00:48guys
00:48clinton fowler blett frett smith posted with james stewart was it 49 wins 49 or 46 wins 49 podiums
00:58unbelievable it's a good percentage it's unbelievable
01:02but this guy the rider d he's had a great season we talk about it quite often about how
01:07to be a champion and adam you were here you have to have some building blocks to become a champion
01:12and you believe and i believe as well 2026 has been a good building block to lead into a champ
01:17be a
01:18championship guy for rider d in 27 and there's things that that you can do that you just with
01:24yourself to kind of manufacture some confidence but there's nothing like actually going out there and
01:29i guess there's a process to believing that it can happen for you believing that you can be a winner
01:37in a champion and i think rider d he's had some inconsistencies mostly due to health so far in his
01:44career but he's been out there every weekend and i think as he stacks up this experience it keeps
01:49building on these results i like what i'm seeing i think he's doing all the right things we love the
01:54leadership over there with nathan ramsey i've seen it with dax bennick as well so rider d one of the
01:59best
01:59starters in the class too so he's going to keep giving himself these chances to be on the podium and
02:05get
02:05that experience rider d was fourth fastest earlier today deegan was fastest levi kitchen was second
02:10lux turner coming on late here in the season was third rider d and max anstey was our winner of
02:17anaheim
02:18one feels like it was three days ago but also feels like it was three years ago at the same
02:22time adam it's
02:24amazing how fast this season has gone along anstey winning round one rider d on the podium shout out to
02:30chance hymus as well started the season great here on the west looks like hayden's on a fast one
02:36yeah and keep in mind these times on the left hand side of your screen are the times for from
02:42the
02:42first qualifier so if hayden deegan goes out there and fetters his lap that is the lap that you will
02:48see pop up just best time overall throughout the day as we see a rider down here it's like gange
02:53linville
02:56hayden goes down the left side of the whoops opens up that turn into the sand
03:00stands up all the way around the turn that was nice it was and you see how he cleanly got
03:05over
03:06that last single coming out of the sand
03:1150.1 and anytime you have the sand or really anytime there's a corner into a long straightway
03:17you you want to prioritize exit speed so you can give up a little bit of entry as we see
03:22levi kitchen
03:23right here same thing you want to be able to to prioritize exit when there's a long straightway
03:28because you want to get obviously the most mile per hour you can out of it levi kitchen setting up
03:34a
03:34fast lap hayley tell us more on the 47 to levi kitchen yeah last weekend i was holding my breath
03:39a little bit to see what's the latest with that back injury he sustained a little over a month ago
03:44because he's told the media the only thing that had helped it is staying off of the bike but last
03:49weekend in denver a full day on the bike i'm happy to report that following the race he told me
03:54i'm not dealing with any soreness even after a full day so that is a very good sign we're happy
03:59to see that of levi kitchen and that back injury he sustained a month ago yeah it's so good to
04:03hear
04:04we've all dealt with some back injuries and you just never quite know sometimes sometimes you wake up
04:08and your back's really stiff and it starts hurting the next day it feels great it's so hard to
04:12to judge but glad uh glad levi kitchen's healthy and and ready to go he's looking fast yeah i definitely
04:18i didn't want it to be one of those situations where if he kept coming back and racing he would
04:22keep
04:23flaring it up and we wouldn't see levi at his best again this is a guy that's extremely talented and
04:30when hayden deegan moves out of this class he's a prime candidate to be a championship level guy
04:36hayden deegan on a fast one right now he's a 49.1 remember seth hammaker was in the 48s
04:42he threw down a 48.8 he goes to the top of the berm gets a really fast run into
04:49the whoops right there
04:50and that was a pretty good pass and hayden deegan's best time in this session so far as you see
04:54him
04:54make a little mistake there is a 50.1 so that 49.1 is from q1 made a little mistake
05:02through the sand
05:03last lap around 50.5 for hayden deegan but he's not done he's going on another one right now
05:13that little ledge right there that it's such a fine line you want to accelerate into it but you
05:19don't want your shock to read your to compress and then rebound fast enough to where you high side so
05:23pay attention to guys trying to either miss that or not really lean into it and accelerate as hard as
05:30you would expect you don't want to rely you want to rely on that ledge to make all of your
05:34turn you'd
05:35like to do most of your turning beforehand that way as you said jb you don't slide the back end
05:41into
05:41there and get a little rebound off of it but hayden deegan is a fast lap he cleaned up the
05:45sand right
05:45there cleanly gets out of it i'm excited to see what this lap is pretty patient through the middle of
05:50that turn through the sand let's see what this time is 49.7 so a little bit off of his
05:57fastest time
06:00track slowing down a little bit i i think it is throwing down slowing down a little bit and hayden
06:06he doesn't look like he is going to be the fastest man in both sessions on track like it's not
06:12something
06:13i think means a lot to him right now based off what i'm seeing we know when he decides to
06:18do something
06:19he can pretty much do do anything so right now just kind of getting into a flow still
06:24top of this session so he's accomplishing the job luxe turner one of the best guys through the
06:30whoops that we've seen all day long a lot of entry speed third overall right now 50.4
06:36this 250 west qualifier that last lap around for luxe turner was a 50.9 so still pretty close to
06:42his
06:42fastest time having a great into his season it's always nice to end the season well if you're luxe turner
06:50you're riding for a contract you're trying to prove that you can be a top five guy which we
06:54all believe he can but you got to do it to prove to the teams and having a ride like
06:58you did a week
06:59ago at denver now backing it up with some fast qualifying times it's going to do good in contract
07:03negotiations for 27 and i think it's one thing to get a good result on your division but it's another
07:11to come here in these showdowns when all the best riders are on track and have a performance kind of
07:16like he did last week and if he can be anywhere near what he was able to do last weekend
07:20in this
07:21showdown it'll go a long way in terms of his just his value to other factory teams and his own
07:26team
07:27well we talk oftentimes about behind the scenes how mechanics mean so much to these
07:32these riders let's go down and talk to brent duffy mechanic to the one w
07:36thanks guys brent duffy okay last 250 race for you and your rider we know hayden's looking forward
07:41to the challenge of the head but what about for you is today at all bittersweet are you just excited
07:45about the next chapter yeah a lot of people have talked about it and uh while i am trying to
07:51kind
07:51of savor the moment and appreciate what we've accomplished in these last couple years uh it's
07:56still a race and we want to go out on top tonight so it's business as usual business as usual
08:00he's a
08:01hard worker and he's going to get back to it brent duffy mechanic for hayden
08:06thank you haley is hayden deacon's throwing on a really fast lap right here his boot speed was
08:11incredible let's see if he can better that 49.1 he does it better he's only a tenth off of
08:16the 49.2
08:18there you see duff writing it on his pit board right there it was a fast lap brent duffy my
08:23long
08:23time mechanic for many many years and one of the good guys brent duffy's one of uh fun guy to
08:29hang
08:29around that's for sure and check this out on screen pay attention to hayden deacon's left foot
08:34he wheelies over shifts one two three times in the air so he's going into that corner in fourth gear
08:40which means if you have any if you have any moment in that turn that makes you check up
08:45you're going to be so low in the rpm coming into the whoops that you're going to lose so much
08:50time
08:51so i love him just doing everything he needs to do going into the turn so all he has to
08:57focus on
08:57is technique putting your front wheel in the right spot on the way to the moves but shifting up three
09:03times in the air over that triple i thought that was i thought that was pretty neat that is awesome
09:07so is he going to fifth because would he be second through there say it again would he be second
09:13gear
09:13and then shift up three times to fifth yeah i would say yeah you're right i use the berm use
09:19the top of
09:19the berm you can see that he was really trying to use the momentum and the angle of that berm
09:23to come
09:24down and carry as much speed as he possibly can but you said it earlier today you thought these 250
09:28guys would be fifth through those whoops and the thing about the monster g star racing yamaha 250 and
09:34i remember this from racing dylan ferrandes back in the day is they there is so much torque on those
09:41motorcycles so you can get away with coming out of a corner in third gear fourth gear and in hayden
09:46deacon's case we're thinking fit
09:49so much speed those whoops max bullen on your screen club max yamaha he had a lot of whoop speed
09:54as well so much talent for max bullen hayden is he on another one right here let's see if he
10:00shifts
10:00up again now he decides not he's chilling i do think the track is slowing down a little bit we
10:07see
10:08see the whoops they the whoops actually haven't been as challenging as i thought they would be when
10:14when the riders rode press yesterday they were probably the most technical set of whoops we've
10:20had all year but they did go in they were just a little bit too steep they didn't mellow them
10:25out
10:25a little bit still challenging but these guys of course the best in the world and they're making it
10:30look pretty easy so far seems like a lot of these guys on the west here getting through the whoops
10:34extremely well rider d one of them levi kitchen hayden deegan anstey
10:40i saw cameron maku to go through the whoops a couple times lux turner's had as much whoop speed
10:46as anybody it seems like here today how about hunter yoder too on the club of max yamaha in the
10:52third
10:52in this session not overall but in this session
10:59hayden continues to throw one down and it's been a pleasure to watch hayden deegan this season it really
11:05has you think about last year julian bomare gave him a lot of fits earlier in the year made some
11:11mistakes but then he comes into this season doesn't win anaheim one max anstey gets to win there you
11:17see he's a little bit frustrated but you think just how much he he cleaned up he's far and away
11:22the best guy on a 250 in the world right now i i think something that's very impressive to me
11:30is
11:30there's there's a lot of guys that in just sports athletes across the board that they try to
11:38diminish the hype to to kind of take some weight off their shoulders they they say all the right
11:44things they kind of defer those you know just yeah all the all the hype and hayden deegan he leans
11:51into
11:51it and creates more hype and more pressure and puts them puts themselves in these spots where if he
11:59doesn't go out there and perform like he's gonna look stupid because of some of the things that he
12:03says but it's almost like he does that on purpose creates an even more pressure-packed moment because
12:09that's when he performs his best and i think you look at some of the best athletes of all time
12:15across any sport and there has been guys like hayden deegan that just go on to be hall of famers
12:22just
12:23stand out among amongst the rest and it's a hard thing to do he's carried the weight of expectation
12:29and i know what that's like he's carried the weight of expectation from the time he was a small kid
12:34to where he's at now but he's able to go out on track lock in not think about any of
12:39it and perform
12:40when he needs to and i think i think that's one of the most impressive things that what he brings
12:46to
12:46the table on every saturday this lap has looked pretty good what is it from hayden deegan it's a 50
12:52.0
12:53as fast as the 49.1 looks like he's gonna end up fastest once again for the 1w the champ
13:01hayden deegan
13:03wants to go out on top moving up to the 450s here in pro motocross in just a few weeks
13:07time it's gonna be so
