00:00It's been a couple of weeks since we caught up with Brady Cannon, who joins us now here.
00:03I'm already thirsty for the PGA Championship, or yeah, PGA Championship coming up.
00:09But I got Brady here to weigh in on the truest championship this week.
00:13Brady, thanks for coming on the show.
00:14It's great to see you again, my friend.
00:16How have you been?
00:17Yeah, old friend, it feels like a homecoming of sorts.
00:21We have been off for a couple weeks, but nice to be back.
00:24And no shortage of big-time golf events these days.
00:27Another signature event this week.
00:30All the luminaries in the field, basically, except for Scotty Scheffler, his third straight runner-up finish last week at
00:37Doral.
00:37Of course, he'll be back next week in the Philadelphia area at Aronimink for the PGA Championship.
00:43But Quail Hollow, Rory McIlroy's playground, he's won here four times.
00:47We'll see if he can do it for a fifth time here coming up in Charlotte, North Carolina.
00:52All right, before we go forward, let's go back to that Cadillac Championship.
00:54Scotty came up just short.
00:56Man, this was one of the best tournaments I've ever seen Cam Young play.
00:59He was 19 under par for the tournament, so credit to him.
01:03Not necessarily wire-to-wire, but he was just dominant last week.
01:07I think he actually was wire-to-wire.
01:10Was he?
01:11Much to my chagrin, because I was on Scotty.
01:13You know, I don't often land on Scotty when he's trading at 3-1, 4-1.
01:18But I felt that the timing was right, and he comes up a few shots short once again, one position,
01:25finished in second for the third week in a row.
01:28And I don't know if Aronimink is going to be the best golf course for him.
01:32I think it's a more claustrophobic, tighter shot-makers.
01:35I think short game will be massive, and we know Scotty has a great short game.
01:39But you talk about Cam Young.
01:41Is this kid becoming a player or what?
01:43My goodness.
01:44You know, he'd finished runner-up on the PGA Tour and in major championships seven times before he got the
01:51win.
01:51And now he got the win last year at the Wyndham, and now it's like he can't be stopped.
01:56I mean, the Players' Championship, Doral, you know, in the final pairing with Rory at the Masters on Sunday.
02:03Great guy to watch.
02:04He just absolutely bangs the golf ball.
02:09It has me thinking that they really need to roll this ball back.
02:12These guys are hitting this thing too darn far these days, Craig.
02:17All right, so let's take a look at the Truist Championship, where Cam Young is, right now, has the second
02:22-shortest odds to win.
02:24Masters champ Rory McIlroy is 5-1, and he has played well here, so naturally that is the case.
02:29Also an interesting name to see Siwoo Kim has moved up on the odds board after another good week last
02:34week.
02:35So, you know, Scotty not in this field, but it seems like a really solid field this week.
02:39Yeah, absolutely.
02:41Scotty's really about the only name that's not here.
02:43I think Russell Henley is one of the other stars that is not in the field.
02:47Chose to skip the week and wait until next week's PGA Championship.
02:50But everybody else is basically here.
02:53Xander Shoffley back in the fold, who was not at Doral, and he's had tremendous success here as well.
02:59Of course, won the PGA right after Quail Hollow a couple seasons ago.
03:03I like Siwoo Kim this week.
03:05He is taking a lot of handle at BetMGM.
03:09The highest ticket counts at BetMGM are Rory, Xander, and Cam Young.
03:15But Siwoo has one of the highest handle counts at BetMGM.
03:19And I don't disagree.
03:20You know, I got him at 30-1, and that felt like a real valuable price there.
03:25I think he's more closer to 25-1.
03:28He's had a third and a fourth place finish in consecutive weeks.
03:32A lot what I tie into Quail Hollow, Craig, is Torrey Pines, where they play the Farmers Insurance Open in
03:38La Jolla, California, right outside of San Diego.
03:41Very similar skill sets.
03:43Driver heavy.
03:44You've got to drive it long and straight.
03:46Both are beast golf courses, 7,600 yards this week, 7,800 yards at Torrey.
03:53And Siwoo Kim finished runner-up earlier this season at Torrey Pines.
03:58So I went with him.
03:59And all of my guys I went with this week have had great success at Torrey Pines.
04:03Tommy Fleetwood I grabbed at 27.
04:07Gary Woodland, who, of course, won recently at the Houston Open, got him at 80-1.
04:12And then Taylor Pendrith, a long shot, the big-hitting Canadian, who has a couple top tens at Torrey Pines,
04:18got him at 130-1.
04:22So, Brady, before you go, I know sometimes you like to get ahead of the majors.
04:26And you'd have to do that now because the PGA Championship is coming up.
04:30So the odds that I want to ask you about here is Scotty makes sense at 3-1, Rory makes
04:35sense at plus 650.
04:37Why does Jon Rahm have the third-shortest odds to win the PGA Championship?
04:41I know he's a great golfer, and I know two years ago he was the favorite in almost every PGA
04:47Tour event.
04:48But he hasn't won anything significant in a while.
04:52And he's got a lot of distraction going on.
04:55He is not a player I want to invest in right now.
04:58You know, there was the DP World controversy situation going on ahead of the Masters.
05:03Now apparently he has rectified that situation and paid his debts and paid his fines.
05:08But I just think there's too much going on off the course for Jon Rahm to him be focused on
05:13winning another major right now.
