00:00And they were just so resilient all year because they had in April, I believe that a six game
00:07losing streak. And then they had a little bit later, a four game losing streak. They lost a
00:14game on May 4th, Craig, that dropped into two games above 500, 18 and 16. From May 4th on,
00:22they went 85 and 43 and then 11 and two in the playoffs. I mean, in 162 game season
00:32to be almost 500 by the time you get to the beginning of May and then rattle off those
00:38kinds of, that's not luck. That is, that's pushing all the right buttons, the right players,
00:45the right group of guys. I mean, that means they finished 96 and 45 for May 4th on Craig.
00:52That's just bonkers how good that is. And they had to go through what is arguably the,
01:00I don't think there's any question that the national league was heads and tails above the
01:03American league. I don't even think it's close. It wasn't like their schedule and they had to go
01:09through the likes of the Dodgers and the Braves and everybody else that was favorite. What do you
01:15think their odds were on May 4th to win a world series? I mean, yeah, they weren't. Yeah. I mean,
01:23they weren't even the favorite going into the playoffs, not even close to play third or four
01:26fourth best odds. You know, what's interesting is that I remember, I remember thinking, I still
01:34did not think Milwaukee, but I want to be clear about this. I did not think the Brewers would win
01:37the world series, no way, shape or form even going into the postseason. I didn't think so,
01:41but I remember doing the show with you and I remember coming back off when the Brewers played
01:46the Marlins. And I remember sitting here with you saying, you know something, I don't know how
01:51anyone's going to beat them with the seven, eight, nine that they're throwing out there with this
01:55Ashby and Uribe and McGill. And I remember watching that thinking to myself, like, that's the best
02:01combination that I've seen in baseball. I didn't realize how deadly it would end up being at the end of
02:08the season, but they basically didn't have a blip the entire way through. And you can give the MVP
02:13to Contreras or Pratt, Mizorowski. You can say that the bottom of their lineup, you know, David
02:18Hamilton came through in a big way. But the reason why the Brewers were World Series champions
02:23was because Uribe and Ashby and McGill were untouchable throughout the postseason. And you can't
02:32give it to three. And maybe if we went back to the eighties, we would just say that guy's name
02:36was Goose Gossage or Dennis Eckersley, because that guy would just pitch two or three innings
02:39every night. They don't do that anymore. So the fact that you pitch one guy, every inning
02:44takes away from any MVP votes. But if I was to give the MVP to a group, easy one, Joe,
02:50it's
02:50those three guys throughout the play. And it wasn't like they avoided the injury, but Yelich
02:56missed time. Churio missed time. They didn't even have Quinn Priester. Like he got lost. I think
03:02it's spring training. He was, he was shelved.
