00:08Today we had hot sun with that cloud cover I told you about,
00:12along with brief rain in some areas,
00:14with daytime temperatures of 32.2 in Trinidad and 32.1 in Tobago.
00:19And here's what also happened today.
00:21The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service
00:23declared the start of the 2026 wet season
00:27after light rainfall from a weak tropical wave.
00:30May will bring mixed wet and dry spells with some Saharan dust,
00:35with near-normal rainfall expected for Trinidad
00:38and below-normal for Tobago through July.
00:42The hurricane season may be influenced by the El Nino-Southern Oscillation,
00:46which could suppress activity.
00:49Though officials stress that even a single storm
00:52can have significant impacts
00:53and urge continued preparedness and attention to forecast.
00:58Now, moving on to what we can expect tonight.
01:00Tonight will be mostly fair, but hazy,
01:03with a light breeze and some isolated showers,
01:05with minimum temperatures of 24 degrees in Trinidad and 25 in Tobago.
01:10And tomorrow will do the most,
01:12giving us a taste of everything.
01:14According to the Met Office,
01:15expect generally sunny, hazy and breezy conditions,
01:19despite partly cloudy interruptions,
01:21with showers mainly during the morning,
01:24with maximum temperatures of 33 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
01:29But that's not all.
01:30Tomorrow, there will also be a significant increase in Saharan dust.
01:35Sensitive persons should take the necessary precautions.
01:38So tomorrow, you will need all your essentials,
01:41your face masks, water, your umbrellas,
01:44and we can't forget the sunscreen.
