00:00Good news for Queen's Park as New Iron Unlimited has come on board as a sponsor.
00:05It's a boost for the Parkides ahead of the T20 Festival with the defending champs playing Praysal in their opener
00:10on Thursday afternoon.
00:11As such, QPCC President Jeffrey Gillen says such a partnership makes it a good day for the club.
00:16It's no secret that Queen's Park has a rich history, hence the reason Gillen believes they deserve to be reaping
00:21the rewards.
00:22This club has consistently produced the region's top players, not just yesterday, but for decades.
00:30West Indian players, national players, IPL players, and that is not by chance.
00:36It comes from standards, from development, from culture, and from a sustained commitment to excellence.
00:45That legacy defines who we are, and because of that, we are very deliberate about who we partner with.
00:53QPCC Vice President Colin Ward, too, cannot be left out.
00:56He says both Queen's Park and New Iron Unlimited have a common goal.
01:00New Iron is committed to being a good neighbor and responsible employer, contributing positively to the communities in which we
01:07operate by investing in initiatives that promote youth development, education, discipline, and teamwork, which is exactly what Queen's Park's ethos
01:16is about.
01:17And what's the sponsorship amount?
01:19New Core New Iron has contributed $300,000 TT towards this initiative.
01:23And it's something New Iron's operations manager Nigel Noel sees as a step in the right direction.
01:29I know the benefit that sport brings to our young people.
01:33That personal experience and similar experiences of the New Iron leadership team made our decision to partner with QPCC, not
01:41just a corporate one, but a deeply felt one.
01:45QPCC captain Ricardo Patti says this sponsorship is going to benefit players at the club in terms of growth and
01:50development.
01:51But on another note, how confident is Patti about the Parkides' chances of retaining the T20 Festival title?
01:57I would not be overly confident in anything that we do, but I think we do have a pretty good
02:02squad that has a very good chance of retaining what we had last year.
02:06The team from St. Clair will now be known as New Iron Unlimited Queen's Park.
02:10Vinod Nawani, Team 6-4.
