Transcript
00:00Trinidad and Tobago will be led by Karishma Ramharak with Anissa Mohammed as the deputy
00:05for the women's regional Super 50 in St Kitts.
00:07For Ramharak, it's a momentous occasion being appointed leader of the Red Force Divas.
00:12I think honestly it's a great honour to be captained in the women's senior team for the
00:18first time in the Super 50 tournament and they say with great power comes great responsibility
00:24so I'll do my best to take full responsibility of the team and try my best to lead them to
00:32victory.
00:33TNT played defending champions Jamaica in their opener on February 24th.
00:38And how confident is Ramharak about her team lifting the trophy this year?
00:42I think as a team we've prepared well, we've had really good sessions together both on
00:48and off the field and I feel like you know the girls are in a really good space and we
00:54have what it takes to win this tournament.
00:57Having said that, Ramharak is taking none of the sides for granted.
01:01Making of the six teams are Barbados, Guyana, Leeward Islands and the Widman Islands.
01:06I think if we understand the game of cricket, anybody can show up on any day so I feel like
01:12going into the tournament we don't really want to underestimate any teams as we know
01:17that there are a couple of new faces to different teams coming into this tournament so as I
01:23said we're going to try to play our best cricket and hope for the best.
01:28Regarding her goals, the 30-year-old wants to try and help her team in the best way possible
01:32win the title.
01:34And coach Marissa Aguilera is satisfied with the work put in by the team ahead of the tournament.
01:39I am well pleased, not just myself but the entire management staff from what we are seeing
01:44from the players, our first phase of training was based on fitness, I think that is an area
01:52that we had some concern with for the past couple of years and I think we really focus
01:57in that department the importance of being able to sustain for a lengthy period of time
02:03especially in the 50 overs format and I think the girls have been doing really well.
02:09Regarding the chemistry between the players and coaching staff, Aguilera has given it
02:13a thumbs up.
02:14I guess we have been working really well, they are buying into my philosophy and what
02:21I really want to bring forward to and it's just not about me as I will always tell them
02:24it's about their game and what they want to do as players and as individuals so things
02:29has been going well and I'm looking forward to seeing them on the stage.
02:36The Red Force Divas will leave Trinidad and Tobago this Saturday for St. Kitts.
