00:00You know, I compared this to being an official starter at Augusta.
00:06When I saw you go Riders Up, it reminded me of seeing Nicholas and Player and Tom Watson
00:13with, like, being the official starter of that event.
00:17What does that mean to you when you get to make that call there in front of all those people,
00:22in front of the entire world, when you're talking Riders Up?
00:25That must be a tremendous honor for you.
00:29Oh, decidedly.
00:30You know, and I'm honored to be mentioned with that group of men you just mentioned.
00:36To be mentioned in the same breath is pretty remarkable.
00:39But, you know, what a tremendous honor to be asked to do the Riders Up.
00:45You know, I just can't tell you how much it meant to me,
00:48and what a joy and a privilege and a pleasure it was to be a part.
00:54Golden Tempo's run, 23-1 in the race yesterday.
00:59Pat, give me your take, going from last to first, in the style of race and how that horse
01:05ended up winning the Kentucky Derby yesterday.
01:09Well, I think the early fractions said it all.
01:12You know, obviously, Jose ran a marvelous race.
01:15You know, he gave his horse a chance to, he knew the colt, he knows the colt,
01:20gave him a chance to get his speed up underneath of him,
01:22and when he started picking him up, he come with a strong run and got the job done.
01:27Jose worked out a marvelous trip for him, rode a flawless race.
01:31The horse performed exceptionally well.
01:34My hat's off to Cherie DeVoe, the trainer, the first woman to ever win a Kentucky Derby.
01:40Congratulations, Cherie.
01:41Awesome job.
01:42Very proud of you and your entire team and Jose and, of course, the horse.
