00:00his way through those corners and on to a potential third career Grand Prix victory
00:06and taking it from his first three Grand Prix poles and no driver has ever done that in the
00:13history of Formula One and this is this is a big moment if Mercedes win this race because they know
00:18they're out of sync with the upgrades as you were just explaining with regard to Montreal although
00:23I believe McLaren are taking some bits and pieces too but this is this was the big ace card that
00:29Ferrari and Clarence played this weekend if Mercedes still win I can understand why George
00:34Russell is pretty angsty out there he's thick end of half a minute behind his teammate and he
00:39hasn't got any grip and he's not happy very much so he knew he was in a fight for this
00:46championship
00:47and had all the respect to the world for Kimi Antoinette before he came to Miami and he very
00:51much ignores it will admit now that that fight is real Valtteri Bottas has just been shown a black
00:58and white flag for ignoring blue flags he's getting all the flags and all the colors showed at one
01:03time there I think and Lando Norris then outside of the overtake one second detection zone now so does
01:11not get the benefit of a bit more power and a bit more speed Leclerc should catch Verstappen in around
01:16three laps that's when he'll start getting tasty ahead yes because if Leclerc gets a bit held up then
01:23that might be an opportunity for you uh young Oscar and he's another one that's lagging behind
01:29his teammate a little bit if you talk about George Russell and Antonelli Piastri and Norris I think of
01:34a bit similar yeah judging by the last lap uh Leclerc will be on Verstappen with uh in two laps
01:40time
01:41um if he keeps that sort of pace up he's just done a personal best Charles Leclerc
01:45and uh dragging Piastri and to an extent Russell along with him there's your race leader Kimi
01:54Antonelli there's your world champion and driver in second place Lando Norris whatever happens from
02:01here on in whether Lando wins this race or not at least he won't be finishing fifth where he's finished
02:07both of his starts in 2026 so far kind of feels at the moment Lando doesn't have an answer to
02:12Antonelli's Kimi Antonelli's speed doesn't it well the gap is now and you know around two seconds
02:18Martin it's uh maybe maybe Kimi has found his groove a little bit he's found his swagger a little
02:24bit and those rear tires yeah cool them down and and that's helping him he's got a back marker ahead
02:30of him and the one remaining racing ball still running that's Arvid Limblad meanwhile Charles Leclerc
02:38can see a car ahead that car ahead is Max Verstappen who pitted some 37 laps ago to put those
02:46hard
02:47tires on they went Red Bull if I can use NFL parlance with the Hail Mary strategy uh gone long
02:54long long
02:54for this particular race and it might just pay dividends in getting them a few more spots but it
03:00might not give them the uh the podium uh that they thought could have been possible helped out a bit
03:05by
03:05running some laps behind the safety car but Verstappen's having to use all his four titles worth of
03:10experience here to keep that car as quick as he can and all four tires at one point or another
03:15he has
03:16to use doesn't he barging his way through but it's been spectacular and very max let's see uh how hard
03:24he wants to defend and indeed if he can defend uh towards the end of some of these straights
03:30it's worth pointing out as well you know Kimi Antonelli losing places at the start again but on
03:35course to keep up the record this year of every race being won from pole and he him winning from
03:40uh
03:40from pole uh for three races in a row it isn't where you start it's where you finish
03:45so I just wonder how concerned he'll be about some of those race starts because it it comes good
03:50eventually yeah yeah absolutely I mean Antonelli you know again
03:59much track limits please she's gone off at least twice now
04:03but he hasn't been he hasn't been noted as going off track limits though he's talking about Antonelli
04:08of course he hasn't not been noted funnily enough Lando has been noted for track limits once
04:17yeah it's uh you get that bird's eye view that was around about five minutes ago uh when he went
04:23off at turn five on on lap 42 here we go Max Verstappen can see in his wing mirrors Charles
04:32Leclerc
04:32and he can see how much Leclerc is getting the speed behind him and getting closer to him
04:38and you just get the feeling Max has experienced enough to not hugely fight this because the more he
04:44does fight it the more that's gonna hamper him in keeping these tires in alive in some way shape
04:51or form to the end of the race yeah it'll be it'll need to be done I think at the
04:56end of the straight
04:57with some energy I think approaching Max will be like approaching a cornets nest at the moment
05:04he was eighth wasn't he at the end of the first lap after that spin Max Verstappen he was down
05:09in 16th
05:10after he pitted for for those tires I mean it will still be a net gain even if he's caught
05:16by George
05:16Russell we have a second strike for track limits so no more Kimmy no more well if it has come
05:23through
05:23and registered it hasn't come through and registered on our a particular monitor the first one has now
05:28yeah okay it's just updating itself yeah um so there must have been one much earlier on in the grand
05:34pre that's off our screen yeah you don't want to get that black and white flag and then really be
05:39under pressure right here comes Charles Leclerc on Max Verstappen this is for a podium spot Charles
05:45Leclerc started third in this race he finished third in the sprint he finished third in the Japanese
05:51Grand Prix he's looking for third place here he's not going to make the move here and this is allowing
05:57Oscar Piastri currently to start gaining a bit he's got that gap to about three seconds between
06:03himself and Charles Leclerc can Leclerc blast past Verstappen here yes he can picked his moment
06:09Charles Leclerc up into third place Verstappen will try and fight it to no avail job done for Charles
06:17Leclerc sort of deja vu there those two in the first corner because that's how it started and
06:21here comes Max back again you just knew he'd be going back for that that's how he's been driving
06:27all afternoon brilliant love it well you think the move's done you think you know on fresher tires
06:34and Charles Leclerc has been on his for uh for 15 laps less that that move is done there and
06:39Leclerc you
06:40know he's going to blast off into the distance but that was super for Max Verstappen but did he use
06:44too
06:44much boost and can Leclerc get him back again into turn 11 and that answer might be yes he can
06:49as
06:50Charles Leclerc gets about a car led the heads and just slams the door shut in the face of the
06:56Dutchman to try and preserve that third place Piastri's right there too now as well so Max did his best
07:02to fend that off but at the end of the day he doesn't his tyres are now 40 laps old
07:08yes that gap
07:09between Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri just before Leclerc got past Verstappen had pretty much halved
07:15but of course Piastri has now got to get on terms with Verstappen and pass him what is it
07:21what is it the great man said it's one thing to catch it's another thing to pass indeed
07:28so Fernando Alonso has been a black and white flag last final warning for track limits
07:36which is a bit bizarre he's a long way down there in 16th place he has at least pitted now
07:41uh to be fair and look these down shifts they don't work says Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes just
07:47monitoring that as we've got a yellow flag uh that just uh waving very very briefly uh on the side
07:53of
07:53the the track someone had gone off at turn 17 Piastri is right on the tail of Max Verstappen and
08:01you
08:01would imagine down into turn 11 he will want to get that move done so he can keep on his
08:06pursuits of
08:07Charles Leclerc yeah Piastri wants to be on the podium he needs to quickly dispatch the red bull
08:13on tires that probably would not pass an MOT test yeah he's already uh lost in the first sector six
08:20tenths to Charles Leclerc on this lap uh alone here comes Piastri active aero is open on both cars
08:27Max Verstappen stays ahead into uh turn 11 frustration there from the Aussie for the Aussie i'm sure because
08:34there's no way he's going to get passed through this particular sector he's going to have to wait
08:38for that back straight maybe use up a bit more energy than he really would have liked but he's
08:43almost pushing that red bull around turn 16 and he is right now on Verstappen's tail as the active
08:49aero opens and the drag is reduced Piastri had so much more mechanical grip through the Mickey Mouse
08:55section and that's what's put him into play and then he'll have to watch out down the pit straight
09:00Verstappen will try to hang it around the outside but then he needs to squeeze him and take the line
09:07but Verstappen then will he have any energy will he have any power mode to come back at him towards
09:13turn one he's there is he close enough well he's not quite close enough and as they put the brakes
09:20on
09:20the battery levels get topped up into both cars and i'm sure Oscar Piastri will be very thankful uh for
09:26that i mean another straight line mode uh coming up now watch that red bull rear wing you might not
09:31have seen it uh during the course of this weekend if you're only just tuning in it flips 180 degrees
09:36it kind of does the macarena or the the maxarena as they uh like to call it uh down at
09:42uh red bull and
09:43it gives you even more uh i think of a gap than the mclaren one it's it's phenomenal there goes
09:49the active
09:49aero on the mclaren and the red bull as well i think it's game on now between uh piastri and
09:54leclerc for
09:55the final step on the podium and norris still very much keeping antonelli in sight karoon yeah
10:02norris is keeping the pressure on antonelli and he's not very comfortable antonelli martin i've heard
10:07him a few messages on the radio saying i'm having problems with downshift there's something weird
10:11going on with this car it's not a particularly relaxing feeling for him as the reigning world
10:17champion bears down that pressure sitting still outside the overtake zone at about one and a half
10:22seconds but not all calm in the mercedes at the moment interesting stuff i would think bono will
10:29be telling me no you don't need to share all that information we we can find a better way to
10:33let us
10:34know what's going on than telling our rivals that we've got potential issues but if lando norris has
10:40been saving any performance we're getting to that phase now where he needs to start delivering it
10:464 30 grand prix for fernando alonso 285 for sergio perez his teammate by the way valtteri bottas
10:52starting his 250th grand prix this weekend and congratulations to him but alonso and perez are
10:58having their little scrap now alonso on the soft tire after pitting uh just what six laps ago and this
11:04the battle currently for 15th place aster martin are on course for a first double car finish of the
11:10season it's a small crumb of comfort for them i'm sure but it will be some crumb of comfort for
11:15a team
11:16that have been on the back foot or probably about 10 yards behind it right from pre-season testing just
11:23to
11:23put in perspective how well antonelli and norris are going here they could they've got a pit stop in their
11:30pockets they made a pit stop they'd still come out first and second just but that's the margin by
11:36which they be sort of excelled out front and that gap between antonelli and norris has has grown
11:45on this uh particular lap by about uh by about three tenths of a second we're on lap 50 uh
11:51george
11:51russell and max verstappen will be very close to each other uh very soon talking of getting close
11:56fernando alonso and sergio perez now on the uh drag down towards turn 11. aster martin hasn't got
12:02the straight line speed if we think back to that pit stop where mercedes pitted antonelli first
12:07got him out and just got out and stayed out ahead of norris that that was it wasn't it that's
12:14made the
12:14difference 3.7 second stationary for lando norris where one rear tire was a little bit sticky as you say
12:21coming off martin that that could be the key uh to this race now an awful lot else has happened
12:26it has
12:27to be said kimmy antonelli did start from uh pole before uh lando norris uh got past him at the
12:33uh the
12:34start but yeah it didn't help that pit stop norris has caused that is for sure well it was the
12:40lap really
12:40it was the extra lap whoa that that's a big old slide there from uh kimmy antonelli
12:47while he's sliding george russell who was complaining about sliding is now saying the
12:51car feels a bit more together that's bizarre isn't it yeah his fuel's kind of burnt down it's that much
12:57lighter now as as well maybe that's made something of a difference so behind max verstappen george russell
13:06uh catching him lewis hamilton with damage on his car from that first lap contact with color pinto
13:13uh is still in seventh and running in kind of no man's land at the moment not close to russell
13:19and
13:19well ahead of franco color pinto in eighth yeah and now antonelli's got a back marker or a lapped
13:25runner between him and norris but not anymore as they head down the pit straight but norris then
13:31again now two seconds behind i don't think he's got i don't think he's got an answer no i don't
13:37think he's got an answer for antonelli's ultimate pace out front and i mentioned color pinto in eighth
13:43just a moment ago that would equal his best ever grand prix result which he picked up in baku in
13:492024
13:50from the next lap there is a chance of life drops chance of light drops nothing you would imagine to
13:57really impact on the end of this race no because the track temp is 36 there's quite a lot of
14:02warmth out
14:03there the tires are nicely warm so it um it take more than a few light drops i think to
14:09slow these
14:09things down that's it let's head down to you yeah good point you make about uh franco color pinto he
14:14has had an eighth just one before so this would equal as you say crofty his best result uh good
14:19potential double points finish for williams which is much more than they thought they were going to
14:24get uh coming into this weekend so great stuff science and alban have managed to get a result
14:28ahead of the has of ollie behrman has just dropped off the back of them by six or so
14:33seconds so has losing some performance lewis hamilton's been seventh more or less the whole
14:38race so if he's asking how i'm seventh it's been a lonely race with damage to his car he's just
14:42been
14:42there or thereabouts and finally on the rain crofty um you heard that radio message might be the odd
14:48little drop of rain in the next few laps but the bulk of the rain isn't coming until 5 pm
14:54local which
14:55would have been an hour into the original start time so if the organizers and the fia were trying
15:01to keep everyone safe and dry and avoid a wet race then they made the right decision by bringing it
15:07forward by three hours yeah absolutely the correct call and uh thank you for joining us and uh switching
15:13on uh three hours earlier than originally intended and commiserations uh to our amazing uh crew uh here
15:21it's uh sky sports who look like martin they might be packing up in the rain this evening yeah the
15:26d-rig
15:26gangs in the paddock have got plenty on haven't they and everything obviously well a lot of stuff will head
15:31up to montreal um for the for the next grand prix but meanwhile we've still got these last uh four
15:40laps
15:40five laps including this one actually um and if as i said if lannon norris has got anything in his
15:48pocket
15:48he's got to start delivering it but i can't see it we haven't seen any signs of it have we
15:53that
15:54he that he can do anything other than match antonelli out front of that top five it is worth reminding
16:01you
16:02or telling you for the first time if you're only just tuning in max verstappen does have to go and
16:06see
16:06the stewards after this race uh for uh an infringement that could be crossing the line at the end of
16:14the pit lane did his tire make contact or cross over uh the white line where you're not allowed to
16:20on
16:20the left hand side and the stewards have decided they actually want to talk about it after the race
16:25rather than during the race and look at whatever pictures they've got uh that could be a five second
16:29penalty coming verstappen's way it would drop him down into sixth even if george russell can't catch
16:37him um stewards are can give a 10 second penalty but probably not for that uh to be honest but
16:43it's
16:43it's just worth having in the back of your mind uh for the man who uh well spun around on
16:49the uh
16:49opening corner and then has been putting the spin to good use of making his way back through the field
16:56and i have to say 46 laps on that hard compound tire and to go to the end would be
17:01what 40 uh 49 laps
17:02uh that will be a pretty super effort on one set of tires russell's right on the back of a
17:08step and
17:08now george say george just done a personal best there is the red bull in front of him saying my
17:14car
17:14suddenly feels better um and he's proving that with the lap time so a really good chance then for him
17:21to sneak a fifth place here it was seven points wasn't it the gap between george russell and kimmy
17:29antonelli coming into this race at the top 24 points almost a race victory uh when we get to canada
17:36which is another sprint race weekend unless george passes uh max max of course or max uh that pit lane
17:43uh line i think we'll have to wait and see driver of the day vote closes in two laps max
17:49must happen
17:49leading that vote at the moment and has the advantage over george russell but for how much longer
17:54meanwhile we watch this battle oscar piastri has got a lot closer uh to charles clare it's uh just
18:02over a second uh that gap uh currently and that might be going all the way uh to the line
18:07as well as
18:08piastri just got a bit more pace to make a a lunge on the final lap of this race kimmy
18:14antonelli
18:15now lapping in the 131s and he's the only driver uh doing that currently as he extends his lead over
18:21lando norris here comes george russell on max verstappen verstappen moves over uh to the insides
18:27george russell was tentatively looking at a move there uh might just think better of it does think
18:33better of it and just gets caught behind that rear wing of the red bull loses a bit of downforce
18:38as
18:38a result he's still got the power though uh to get on the throttle and make his way towards turn
18:43one
18:43almost alongside the red bull max verstappen holding up george russell here and doing a mighty
18:50fine job of it but russell's now got the opportunity to come back at him on the next stretch russell
18:56i think
18:56russell's got a problem right front did it was there oh he has got a problem damage yeah yeah he's
19:01got
19:01front wing damage it's scraping along on the ground he got very close uh to verstappen couldn't see
19:07that they touch but there's definitely is it that's got it yeah look it flips up when he gets a
19:14certain
19:14tire yeah it's uh when he gets on the throttle front wing goes down and it starts scraping along the
19:23floor
19:23and he gets a certain speed and he flips back up again whatever is
19:28so that's not going to help george russell whatsoever but i said piastri was catching
19:32charles leclerc i wonder if leclerc's tires are going off a touch because he's now
19:36got tires that have done 33 laps and that's seven laps more uh than oscar piastri's had piastri could
19:42still yet take a podium spot while we watch that at the end of the back straight coming on to
19:47the
19:47back straight russell's still catching verstappen yeah very much so it's not slowed russell down too much so
19:52he's right behind him and in fact now i think he's moved ahead of him but let's see what max
19:59does
19:59on the brakes we're not watching it i'm watching it on the driver tracker max back in front again
20:03yeah we just uh there he goes max verstappen two laps to go here piastri can't quite get past charles
20:10leclerc uh into the uh hairpin but he's got a chance down towards turn one george russell is gaining on
20:17uh max verstappen and into turn uh one we go with those two uh it is still verstappen ahead
20:25out in front gap is three seconds on the uh penultimate lap of this race
20:29antonelli is getting ready to celebrate again lando we see a problem with the rear wing dropping out
20:35just be careful a bit everywhere
20:39that is one of the reasons then why that gap has suddenly got
20:43ever more so here comes oscar piastri on charles leclerc into the next left-hander we go turn 11
20:50charles leclerc goes deep piastri can't force his way past and now it's a single file for the next a
20:57few corners lap 56 of 57 george russell and max verstappen separated by just a car lens grand slam
21:05finish here for a grand slam champion who's got the checkered flag in his hand rafa nadal
21:10kimmy antonelli who's a great tennis uh fan is out in front and getting ready to receive that
21:16at the end of this lap but behind him into the podium places goes oscar piastri he's got a head
21:22of charles leclerc our leaders on the final lap piastri will start the final lap in third place
21:28and it could be mclaren 2-3 here oh and leclerc got a massive oversteer coming out of turn 17
21:33and 18
21:34and that's taking away any chance to come back at piastri down into the first corner and that looks
21:40then like piastri has that podium position quite comfortable at the moment but he's still got to
21:46complete this lap oh oh and charles leclerc has spun around and is out of this race george russell
21:52now he's got to go george russell is ahead of max verstappen how did charles leclerc not hit the
21:59barriers there that is the save of the century but he might still uh be out of this race because
22:05he
22:05looks like he's got a problem letting arvid linblad uh just go past one of the back markers while this
22:11is happening our race leader making his way down the back straight and he's got three more corners to go
22:17to celebrate his third victory in a grand prix in formula one he took his third pole position
22:24in a row here and he's going to convert it into victory didn't start particularly well kimmy
22:31antonelli he's going to finish it in spectacular style though once twice three times a grand prix winner
22:37kimmy antonelli wins the miami grand prix and for the first time ever a driver takes his first three
22:44poles in succession and converts them into grand prix victories in succession history made here in
22:51miami lando norris takes second place for mclaren piastri ahead of leclerc george russell is behind
22:59charles leclerc and gaining on him down that back straight so piastri crosses the line now to complete
23:06the podium places we're on board with george russell who's up into fourth place charles leclerc on the
23:13inside trying to fight that one max verstappen right behind charles leclerc these three cars are
23:18going to be separated by about six car lengths at the line russell front wing dragging on the grounds
23:24and max verstappen gets past charles leclerc russell ahead in fourth place of verstappen in fifth and
23:31the clearing six because leclerc did actually hit the wall and recovered so he's got car damage
23:36suspension damage no that's why i had such an appalling last lap get in there kimmy had to work
23:43for that one today mate but what a great drive yes what a race what a race man oh my
23:52god very exciting
23:57oh that is jubilation once more for kimmy antonelli his dad is here again he runs a racing team he
24:05knows
24:05a thing or two about winning and his son is finding that winning feeling in formula one that is for
24:10sure
24:10lewis hamilton comes home to take seventh place franco colopinto eight equaling his best result in
24:16formula one then signs then album that's the top ten this is what happened to charles leclerc how did he
24:22avoid a race ending accident well he avoided it by making contact with the wall with his front left
24:30tire not the rear wing yeah so so he's damaged this is you can see his left his left rear
24:39is damaged a
24:39little bit and that's compromised him so basically it started slide because the tire is a bit older
24:44they just wouldn't come back would it just caught him out it got to that sort of point of no
24:49return
24:50and uh it's getting over the line then he made contact with george russell as well
24:55russell russell's finished the race with a damaged car max verstappen might have had a bit of a
25:01damaged car because he's made contact earlier charles definitely got a damaged car and that's how
25:06the three of them crossed the line wow four fifth and sixth that's a cracking race wasn't i enjoyed that
25:11race what will lando think of it yeah well done how did we not win this should have worked guys
25:18good
25:18try good effort nice to see the progress yeah well done let's keep pushing guys we can get back to
25:24winning we can make it easier for ourselves thank you very much so there was what 1.8 seconds i
25:32believe
25:33between lando norris and kimmy antonelli mercedes went for the undercut pitted first and as a
25:40combination of his driving yes oscar well done that is a really well deserved podium p3 amazing
25:47yeah that was uh down to the wire well done everybody oh yeah good race yeah third from seventh not
25:55bad at
25:56all for piastri so as a combination of antonelli's driving and a slow pit stop for mclaren things flip
26:01round a little bit and norris didn't have the answer to try and get past can you understand
26:07why he would be very frustrated with that result yeah obviously they lost out in the pit stop and
26:12they've lost track position and that's why lando's like hang on we had that we were fast enough we won
26:17the sprint we're fast enough to win this race we haven't won it and he's not happy but if he
26:23was happy
26:24you'd be worried that man's happy well both of them are to be fair it's another victory kimmy antonelli
26:34extending his advantage at the top george russell picking up a couple of places then in the last
26:39couple of laps and that will certainly help him 12 points he scored he was looking at eight points
26:45at one stage charles clare limping home in sixth did superbly well uh to finish this race and he is
26:54doing superbly well race after race after race he uh the first lap he led of this race was his
27:01100th
27:01grand prix lap led and he put a few more in after that as once again he dives into the
27:07embracing arms
27:08of his teammates and gets a big hug from dad too
27:16it's not like we've been short of compliments for kimmy antonelli so far in his racing career we're
27:21going to have to find a few more yeah he's just growing in stature growing in confidence isn't he
27:26and he's keeping his head with a lot of help i think from uncle bono on his radio what a
27:32combination
27:33they're turning out to be as well just you could sort of hear there were points there where kimmy's
27:37getting a bit over excited about gear shift paddles and tire temperatures and all that and just kept
27:43it all but he's got such raw speed and he's got a lot of car control you see he's very
27:48happy if the
27:48car he's not happy that it's moving around but he he can handle the car moving around that's a really
27:53key skill that not many drivers can especially cars this powerful can uh can tolerate that sort of
28:00movement damon hill mika hackanen kimmy antonelli the only drivers to win the first three grand prix
28:07consecutively airton center michael schumacher kimmy antonelli the only drivers to take their first
28:13three poles consecutively kimmy antonelli the first driver ever to take his first three career wins
28:19consecutively from his first three career poles he's got he's in the record books already and not just for
28:25being the youngest to do something yeah exactly that's uh quite the list to join isn't it yeah and
28:31he did it in style he's he's he's won all i mean he got a bit lucky let's be honest
28:35he got lucky in
28:35japan with the safety car but his pace when he did get the lead there was absolutely mighty and it
28:43was
28:43again today and uh that's a big that's a big statement for mercedes to win that grand prix
28:51it certainly is mercedes win in miami for the first time and for the first time here in miami
28:59somebody wins from the front row as well i told you signing out the gift this weekend
29:05well it's kind of i need to see some highlights of all all the things that went on in that
29:10grand prix
29:11from the well from turn two wasn't it really when max went around and um
29:20sergio perez down there in park fermi and franco colopinto as well a good race uh for him ferrari
29:27sixth and seventh that's going to hurt isn't it it should have been fourth for charles clary he got
29:33past but then trying to force the issue back again it's just too much power and had that big spin
29:39now
29:40george russell has been noted just to let you know um and the stewards are having a look at george
29:45russell down at the hairpin at turn 17 for moving under braking you're not allowed to move in the
29:51braking zone did he do that when he was trying to protect uh that uh that fourth place with uh
29:58verstappen and and charles clare all around him maybe karuna have a look at that on the sky pad in
30:03a bit
30:04i think it was when he was probably taking the fourth place wasn't it um and then then defending it
30:09as
30:10he's uh making that move let's see
30:16it's uh it's a hot one here today
30:21well it didn't rain did it just did for kimmy antonelli there but no not from the skies
30:28that is for sure uh yeah so the stewards are going to have a look at that max verstappen
30:33will be investigated for uh crossing the white line at the end of the pit lane jensen button is down
30:39in
30:40park ferme with uh two mclarens and a mercedes welcome to miami kimmy i mean that was a master
30:48class um they didn't make it easy for you there was a lot of great fighting out there and especially
30:53with turn one but you came came through at the end with a really strong victory and a great last
30:59in
31:00yeah i mean um star was uh not as bad as yesterday was a little bit better i didn't expect
31:06charge to
31:07break that early so to avoid him obviously i lock up and then i was a bit lucky with how
31:12you know with
31:13what happened then in turn two and then i did a little mistake with uh with the energy management
31:18trying to overtake charge and then i lost the place to lando but then the face was strong i was
31:23able to stay close and then the team did a great strategy we did a massive undercut and then we
31:29managed to bring it home even though it was not easy uh i know you're thinking about this moment in
31:34time but today you made history the first driver to win his first three grand prix from pole position
31:41and you're only 19. i mean it's so impressive no thank you thank you i mean this is just the
31:47beginning
31:48uh the road is still long but uh we're working super hard and uh you know the team is doing
31:53an incredible job and uh without them i wouldn't be here so mainly thanks to them to my family
31:59and uh yeah i'm gonna enjoy this one and then get back to work because canada is in two weeks
32:04time
32:04well congratulations and uh take a nice rest thank you the next one cheers thank you thank you so much
32:16lando the first stint looks amazing you know great fighting out there with charles
32:21and kimmy um and it looked really good on the medium tire and then on the hard it didn't the
32:25pace didn't seem quite as good and maybe the pit stop was uh was quite an important one um i
32:32mean a
32:32mixed bag really uh we just got undercut there's no excuses other than that we got undercut we should
32:37have boxed first um kimmy did a good job uh you know hats off to merc and kimmy they drove
32:43a good race
32:45um easy to make mistakes out there with the big braking zones and with these cars but he didn't
32:49make any big enough for me to capitalize on so i have to be happy i think as a team
32:53we have to be
32:53happy um i'm gutted to miss out on a win here in miami i think it was possible today but
32:59uh yeah not
33:00the pace to get back past him in the end so we take it on the chin but um still
33:04a positive weekend
33:04altogether good yeah the racing out there looks looks great from the outside how was it racing wheel to
33:10wheel out there do you feel a good improvement from yourselves but also from formula one as a whole
33:16um so so um it's still i mean so it was still good i still enjoyed the racing honestly as
33:21things have improved some things are the same um but today was still about who could make the least
33:26mistakes who could push in the correct areas uh and it looked good i guess if you guys enjoyed it
33:32then i'm very happy you know so um it was tough you still have to be i mean you have
33:35to be tactical
33:35with how you use the battery you can easily just get caught up in the wrong wrong kind of uh
33:43running of things and get caught out badly but other than that i feel like i did a good job
33:47and
33:47the team did a good job all weekend so i have to i have to be proud of everyone progress
33:51progress
33:55oscar um we didn't really seize that much of you on the screens initially but um a great fight through
34:01in the end uh it looked like uh you know after after suzuka where you were so strong at the
34:06start
34:07of the race it's been a bit of a trickier weekend especially qualifying but you came through the end
34:11and picked up a great podium there yeah definitely it's not been the the most straightforward of
34:16weekends i think uh yeah qualifying yesterday was a bit messy for both of us but the pace seemed more
34:21encouraging again today and um you had to make a few overtakes obviously the end of the race was a
34:26a pretty late charge but um yeah just very very tricky around here especially in these conditions
34:31so uh thanks to the team you know clearly we were a step step closer in performance once again so
34:37uh
34:37yeah it's uh nice to see you you must it must be promising to see obviously lando doing a good
34:44job
34:44this weekend and seeing yourselves get so much closer to uh to the mercedes obviously with sprint race
34:49you were in front of them so if you must have a positive attitude moving forward to canada
34:55yeah definitely i think uh you know this weekend we showed that if we get track position we can
35:00we can hang on to things well you know we were close in japan but uh we've definitely taken a
35:05step
35:05forward and hopefully in canada we can take another step forward again so yeah excited for
35:10the future thank you thank you cheers oscar piastri and lando norris and your winner this afternoon
35:17kimmy antonelli with jensen button down in park ferme meanwhile a few moments ago in the pit lane
35:24ted kravitz caught up with the team principal at mclaren andrea stella well andrea well done it's a double
35:31podium so you've ended the the weekend with a sprint a sprint with a one two and a and a
35:36two and a two three
35:37would you have taken that before the weekend started 100 100 we don't have to forget where we come from
35:44we come from a relatively difficult start of the season uh we reacted we always said internally
35:51irrespectively or where we are at the start we know what you are capable of so i think we have
35:57demonstrated big big thank you to the team for the hard work that led us to delivering all the upgrades
36:04in various areas of the car they have made us competitive well done they made us competitive
36:09and when it's so close then it's you know it's a matter of execution sometimes it's a matter of
36:15details i think mercedes they still have a little bit of advantage on us uh but it's good to be
36:23there
36:23and uh the championship is still very long i'm sure you heard lando on the radio like we heard saying
36:28we
36:28could have won it um is there a anything to the point of view that maybe you were being a
36:35bit
36:35conservative maybe with an eye on the weather and let kimmy pit first and with a great outlap
36:42he closed and was able to rejoin and take the lead i think you summarize it well uh we had
36:48an
36:48opportunity to win 100 we were chased by a car that was a little bit faster than us we were
36:55monitoring
36:55the weather at the same time and uh when kimmy pitted his uh outlap was just mega we couldn't match
37:03it
37:03with our performance in the in lap we lost uh possibly a little bit of time in the execution
37:10um we could have done better but we are very happy we take all the positive out of this weekend
37:15we are there there's some new stuff coming for the coming races so exciting exciting time ahead of us
37:22very good congratulations on the weekend very solid thank you very much
37:27andrea stella with ted kravitz just to let you know that while we were hearing from ted and andrea
37:34that charles claire is going to be investigated for leaving the track multiple times and gaining an
37:39advantage he definitely left the track did he gain an advantage uh the top three are on their way to
37:45the podium and we can reflect martin on some of the drama of the last few laps this is the
37:51max
37:51verstappen george russell incident where contact was made and we saw the end result of george russell's
37:56front wing being damaged now did he move under braking here
38:03absolutely not not in that one if that's what they're talking about the first corner was racing
38:07incident really i don't see anybody actually um there's george pulling out is he gonna move
38:15in the braking zone we don't see the braking zone so here's charles claire's spin yeah and then we do
38:21see him with damaged suspension we do see him sort of in some unchartered territory here and there on
38:27that lap that was contact i don't think george moved there either ready did he he certainly left
38:34enough space but that might also be uh be being investigated uh too no further investigation
38:40uh for moving under braking uh george russell not what we said well those bits we saw absolutely
38:46not um char we know he went through scamper through some runoff errors because he didn't have full
38:51control of the car did you know with the damage suspension but he ended up losing those two places
38:56anyway if he got a five second penalty it would make no difference if he got gets a 10 second
39:01penalty
39:02he'll fall behind lewis hamilton uh and the leclerc russell at turn 17 incident causing a collision will be
39:09investigated after the race good job the start time was three hours earlier because the stewards could
39:14be here for a long time uh tonight with the amount of things that they have got to look at
39:18after this
39:20race and the uh the little rides to the podium which is on the other side of the stadium from
39:27where the
39:28the pit lane and the garages are has given us time to uh to go through a few of those
39:33incidents
39:36waiting for kimmy antonelli amy walker the trackside operations engineer at mercedes is going to go up
39:41onto the podium uh to pick up uh the trophy and mercedes today moving ahead of williams in the all
39:49-time
39:49list for podiums by a constructor 316 uh to uh total to date and so they'll be third on the
39:58all-time list
39:58behind mclaren and ferrari lando norris still looks pretty miffed with the outcome of that race today
40:06could have been his one that got away i'm just sitting here thinking are we going to see a
40:11teenage world champion this year i'm a teenager leading it and there's a long way to go but
40:17you know what he doesn't show any signs of feeling the pressure you know the driving still comes easy to
40:24hit yeah the decision making still comes easy and he has been guided you would say by the best teacher
40:30that he could possibly have yeah and he's got the car control and confidence to go with it hasn't he
40:38where were you when you came out the pits like did you break because i couldn't see you we were
40:43like
40:43this i almost crashed into you oh my god yeah oh
41:02yeah i was like wondering how did it happen oh oh that's bad damage yeah
41:21oh yeah yeah yeah see watch this i always take him i'm like sweet
41:26are you coming back past you yeah but like but like i nothing i could do like
41:33i think what max was doing he just ruined his own race
41:45oh my god oh my god
42:06defending these cars yeah yeah like you look and they're like half a second behind but crashing you
42:15so fast
42:24wow
42:25that was a fascinating debrief it really was
42:36uh thank you everyone thank you so much it's good to be back like this let's keep pushing
42:42give me that was really impressive very impressive dominant from the beginning to the end
42:48complicated to control the starts but uh you're driving that was really really good and you know
42:53i like to complain but there's nothing to complain today yeah i know i was a bit uh stressed
42:58very very good
43:03Kimi Antonelli in conversation with Toto Wolff his uh team principal Oscar Piastri in conversation with
43:10Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli fascinating to hear what the drivers were saying there particularly
43:15about how you just can't defend at some stages they're there on you in a flash yeah but what goes
43:20around comes around doesn't it in that respect Oscar Piastri's dad was there talking to
43:27uh Zach Brown as we cut to the crowd um yeah that was wild wasn't it absolutely wild you know
43:33the
43:33stewards are a bit busy tonight they're going to be even busier because Charles Leclerc is going to
43:38be investigated for driving in an unsafe condition he's hit the wall he's managed to keep going he's
43:45being investigated for leaving the track multiple times on that final lap and they're also going to
43:50look at whether the car should have just been pulled over to one side and whether it was in an
43:54unsafe condition or not yeah he got it home didn't he had four wheels on it all pointing roughly in
44:00the right direction i'm i'm more along the lines of Nigel Mansell pushing his car over the line in
44:05Dallas to be honest that's what i like to see you can't just go or bump the wall or park
44:10it and get
44:11out of the way i mean George Russell's car was every bit as damaged uh unsafe condition and of course
44:19he
44:19carried on so that's nonsense they're going to look at it uh come what may that's why i would never
44:25be
44:25a steward isn't it yeah you're better off the commentary rocks here trust me third place today
44:31goes to Oscar Piastri who when he started uh was finishing second but now it's a second successive
44:41podium for him runners up today goes to Lando Norris
44:49his first Grand Prix podium as the reigning world champion and victory the first time for a driver
44:58starting on the front row here in Miami on the weekends that Italy mourns the loss of the legend
45:05and Alex Zanardi it's an Italian win here in Miami for the next superstar of Italian motorsport
45:16Kimi Antonelli a lot of Valentino Rossi about him as well isn't there
45:40so
45:51so
46:23I'm going to go.
46:25How are you?
46:31How are you?
46:53How are you?
47:00How are you?
47:04How are you?
47:08How are you?
47:35popular winner Kimi Antonelli on top of the podium once more he has a 20-point
47:42lead over his teammates George Russell in the driver's championship as he
47:48receives the trophy for the winning driver from Steven Ross Mercedes have a
47:5568-point lead over Ferrari with McLaren the reigning champions almost double the
48:02points Mercedes have over McLaren currently 94 points to 180 Mercedes hitting
48:10the bullseye in 2026 solid day for Williams as well eighth in the
48:16championship though but getting some points
48:21and for Red Bull just the 30 points and fourth in the Constructors
48:27championship so far for Lando Norris he moves a little closer to the top three
48:3412 points behind Charles Leclerc currently on 51 points second place for him today
48:42for Lando Norris to us either finished first or second in the last three Miami Grand Prix
48:51solid weekend for McLaren who took one and two in the sprints of course two and three in the Grand
49:02Grand Prix you've got a column to right Martin with a lot to put in it but the big headline
49:06surely about the man on top of the podium yeah and despite all the upgrades for Ferrari and McLaren
49:12Mercedes still managing to win the Grand Prix good recovery there from Oscar Piastri and on we go to
49:20Melbourne to Montreal rather where there'll be loads more new bits and pieces on the cars and a
49:26completely different track layouts it's been a few hard luck stories at the Hard Rock
49:30stadium today but nothing to dampen the smile and the passion of Kimi Antonelli for the third Grand
49:39country in a row he's the top man
