00:00:04For Emilia Romagna and especially for Bologna, the Uno Bianca affair was a huge shock.
00:00:09A series of murders and criminal acts that were bloody, ferocious, and completely incomprehensible.
00:00:16They often used weapons and we knew that they were very precise in their aim and shooting.
00:00:23A rope was lowered from above with a bag inside.
00:00:30All hell broke loose.
00:00:33And it really looked like a shooting range.
00:00:37He is killed in cold blood without any necessity.
00:00:45They shoot with impressive ease until in their criminal history they manage to kill 24 people
00:00:55and seriously injured 105 of them out of 103 criminal episodes committed by them.
00:01:04Were they bandits behaving like terrorists or terrorists behaving like bandits?
00:01:20Good evening.
00:01:21Our journey through Italian crime news continues, in search of those crimes that marked an era.
00:01:26and they made us ask why that crime and why at that time.
00:01:30This evening our journey takes us between Emilia Romagna and Marche.
00:01:33It is here that between 1987 and 1994 the streets were bloodied by a trail of crimes
00:01:41committed by an elusive gang.
00:01:44We are talking about the so-called Uno Bianca gang.
00:01:49So called because in some episodes it used that small car,
00:01:55a car so widespread that it is so easy to steal and so difficult to identify.
00:02:03Seven years marked by 103 crimes, 24 deaths and 102 injuries.
00:02:11A shocking series of robberies and murders,
00:02:14which investigators are unable to get to the bottom of despite all their investigative efforts.
00:02:19There are miscarriages of justice, there are false leads.
00:02:23The members of the Uno Bianca gang seem elusive.
00:02:27Until, at a certain point, two tenacious policemen, at the end of an investigation in which they join forces
00:02:35intelligence, professionalism, determination, stubbornness, they manage to get to the bottom of the mystery.
00:02:43In 1994, after seven years of bloodshed.
00:02:48Something happens here, something unpredictable, a discovery that is a chilling revelation.
00:02:55Who are responsible for these crimes?
00:02:58They are members of the law enforcement forces.
00:03:01The people paid to defend us, to protect our safety, are the ones who have sown panic and terror.
00:03:09But there are still those who are convinced that not everything has been said about the history of the Uno Bianca
00:03:14and that there are still mysteries to be explored.
00:03:38This story begins on June 19, 1987.
00:03:42It begins with the first of a series of robberies and toll booths on the A14,
00:03:48always between Emilia Romagna and Marche.
00:03:50Some of these robberies were committed on board a Fiat Regata
00:03:55and the nickname Ghost Regatta Band was immediately born.
00:04:00These are robberies committed with professionalism, heists carried out with extreme clarity and determination.
00:04:08At one point, four people are arrested.
00:04:10They are probably involved in some of these robberies.
00:04:14But those who would later become the men of Uno Bianca seized the opportunity on the fly.
00:04:20Since they've stopped someone, we'll stop robbing toll booths and dedicate ourselves to something else.
00:04:27This other one will mark the beginning of a disturbing leap in quality in violence.
00:04:37The men of the so-called Grey Regatta Gang are still at large and are planning their next heist.
00:04:46It all started with unpaid work done by one of them, Fabio Savi.
00:04:53Savi and Fabio had at the time worked for Grossi.
00:04:57Grossi was a used car dealer.
00:05:01And Savi was a bit suited to working as a body shop mechanic.
00:05:09Grossi had never paid him.
00:05:10He had to give him a certain amount of money.
00:05:12Until he, talking about it with his brothers, decided to extort this money from him.
00:05:19They immediately started shooting at the house.
00:05:27And immediately after, they made phone calls and described themselves as pickaxes and asked for 30 million lire of the time.
00:05:40Threats followed this event.
00:05:44Threats both at the operational level, such as the shootings that were carried out during the night,
00:05:52that even with extortion messages,
00:05:56in which the messages actually requested a sum of money
00:05:59which the owner had to set aside and give to these extortionists.
00:06:04Until we finally arrive at the fateful evening of October 3, 1987.
00:06:11Evening of October 3, 1987.
00:06:15Fabio Savi, aka the mysterious pickaxe, must complete his extortion.
00:06:20And he gives very precise instructions to Grossi.
00:06:23I'll have a car waiting for you in front of the car showroom.
00:06:26Get in, start the engine, hit the highway
00:06:30and go to the Bologna-San Lazzaro toll booth, round trip.
00:06:35But along the way you stop under every overpass, get out of the car, and check.
00:06:40If nothing happens, go back up and repeat the same movement at the next overpass.
00:06:46These are clearly instructions from someone who has already prepared a plan to carry out the extortion.
00:06:52What Fabio cannot know, or what he can perhaps imagine,
00:06:56is that Grossi is followed.
00:06:59The police are there, ready to catch the so-called pickpocket red-handed.
00:07:06There was a car that was escorting, let's say, this extortionist's car
00:07:11and among which was the car I was driving,
00:07:16Moscow-Antonio by my side
00:07:18and Campi's Ada is sitting in the back seat.
00:07:23We entered the highway, as dictated by the extortionists.
00:07:28Grossi, Savino, stopped under every overpass
00:07:31until we reach the overpass near the Cesena exit.
00:07:36At that moment a rope was lowered from above with a bag inside.
00:07:43The moment we stopped near the overpass
00:07:48all hell broke loose.
00:07:52I just remember being on my knees, outside the car,
00:07:58on the left rear wheel upright
00:08:01and I shot at a figure that was climbing the slope in front of me.
00:08:07A guy in a white raincoat who I was shooting at.
00:08:13But in the meantime I heard a lot of shots,
00:08:16it seemed like everyone was shooting
00:08:18and it really looked like a shooting range.
00:08:24Then suddenly this person I saw disappeared
00:08:29and all was silent.
00:08:34I recovered for a moment and began to hear the screams of the Ada di Campi
00:08:40who was screaming, she remained sitting in the back seat,
00:08:44he hadn't had time to get down.
00:08:46I walk over, get up and see that she had blood all over her legs,
00:08:52covered in blood and screaming in pain.
00:08:57I look out over the front seats
00:09:00and instead I saw my colleague Antonio Mosca
00:09:04lying on both seats
00:09:08and he had a hole in his left zygoma
00:09:12and he was still and stretched out.
00:09:21I remember everything about that tragic moment,
00:09:27I didn't lose consciousness.
00:09:35Maybe also because I was young,
00:09:38I don't know, I had just turned 22,
00:09:42but I remember it as if it were today
00:09:45that I took the gun
00:09:49that I had under my thigh,
00:09:52I armed it
00:09:53and the moment I cocked the gun
00:09:56I heard a lot of heat and a lot of gunshots.
00:10:08I remember that this great heat
00:10:11It practically anesthetized me,
00:10:14I didn't feel anything anymore
00:10:15and when my eyes fell on Antonio
00:10:20and then on myself
00:10:23I only saw a lot of blood,
00:10:28so I no longer had the color of the clothes,
00:10:32but it was only a red color.
00:10:38The first thing I thought
00:10:40it's that if God wanted me
00:10:43he could have taken me
00:10:44as long as it is not valid for life,
00:10:47why, I don't know,
00:10:49I was young,
00:10:50I rolled with so much passion,
00:10:53with the right vocation
00:10:54to do that job
00:10:56and see myself like this in an instant,
00:11:01I do not know,
00:11:02my thoughts since then
00:11:04these were the ones.
00:11:08There are some bullets
00:11:09that were taken from me,
00:11:11others cannot be touched
00:11:14because they are in the vital parts
00:11:15and therefore they can go to harm
00:11:18other organs
00:11:19and I might even risk it
00:11:21of not making it.
00:11:31Antonio Mosca
00:11:33he is Baglioni's superior,
00:11:34Costanza and Ada Di Campi.
00:11:37The shots that hit him
00:11:39they condemn him to a slow and painful agony.
00:11:42On that bed he makes promises
00:11:44from Baglioni and Costanza
00:11:45that they would have identified
00:11:48those responsible
00:11:49and that they reduced it
00:11:50in that state.
00:11:51Then months of truce will pass,
00:11:53of silence,
00:11:54but it will be the classic
00:11:55calm before the storm.
00:11:59It's a very short respite
00:12:00why in December
00:12:02of the same 1987
00:12:03restart the sequence
00:12:05of robberies,
00:12:06toll booths,
00:12:08post offices,
00:12:09supermarkets,
00:12:10especially supermarkets
00:12:12of the Cooperatives.
00:12:13and in April 1988
00:12:17that during a robbery
00:12:19at the Coop in Castelmaggiore
00:12:21the gang kills two policemen.
00:12:24It is not yet known
00:12:25who are men in uniform,
00:12:26but they are men in uniform
00:12:28who kill other men in uniform.
00:12:32And in October 1988
00:12:35during a robbery
00:12:37at the Coop in Bologna
00:12:39with the wounding
00:12:40of two security guards
00:12:42they take away 100 million.
00:12:44Increase professionalism,
00:12:45if I may say so,
00:12:47some shots,
00:12:48increases their value,
00:12:50increases the ferocity,
00:12:51increases the danger
00:12:52of this band.
00:12:54And someone gets stopped,
00:12:56someone gets arrested,
00:12:57but it's a dramatic
00:12:58miscarriage of justice,
00:13:00another mistake.
00:13:01They are arrested
00:13:02of the Catania criminals.
00:13:07What has been defined
00:13:09at this moment
00:13:10Co-op gang,
00:13:11from the name of the supermarkets
00:13:13targeted,
00:13:14he would therefore be a victim
00:13:15of a series of criminals
00:13:17away from home,
00:13:18the commuters of crime.
00:13:20But it's not them.
00:13:24During that period,
00:13:26clearly,
00:13:26they are starting to be done
00:13:27various hypotheses
00:13:29on why
00:13:30these assaults
00:13:31bloodthirsty
00:13:32at Coop supermarkets.
00:13:42there is someone who hypothesizes
00:13:43the fact that since
00:13:44the cooperative world
00:13:46in Emilia Romagna
00:13:47also represents
00:13:48an expression of politics
00:13:50of this region,
00:13:51it is a targeted attack
00:13:53that he wants in some way
00:13:54go to mine,
00:13:55to scratch
00:13:56the social fabric
00:13:57political
00:13:58of this region.
00:13:59And this is the moment
00:14:00in which
00:14:01the White Uno gang
00:14:02which is not yet called
00:14:03One White
00:14:04but it's called
00:14:04Band of Cups
00:14:05at this moment
00:14:06is identified
00:14:07like something
00:14:08that acts
00:14:09on behalf of someone else.
00:14:13The arrest
00:14:14of the Catania criminals
00:14:16it happens thanks to
00:14:17to the testimonies
00:14:18of a repentant,
00:14:18Anna Maria Fontana
00:14:19who was a prostitute
00:14:21who knew well
00:14:22the people
00:14:23whose names he names
00:14:24to the police
00:14:25and to the judicial authority
00:14:26and brings about their arrest.
00:14:29Anna Maria Fontana
00:14:31it is considered credible
00:14:32and the so-called
00:14:33crime commuters
00:14:34they are being processed.
00:14:36The sentences
00:14:36they've been going for 30 years
00:14:37to life imprisonment.
00:14:39It will take a long time
00:14:40before they are discovered
00:14:41the real culprits.
00:14:42Another wrong arrest,
00:14:44one more chance
00:14:45for the band
00:14:46to get away with it
00:14:47continuing like this
00:14:48to spread terror.
00:14:49The band grows
00:14:51of level
00:14:51and grows
00:14:53their criminal nature.
00:15:00October 6, 1990
00:15:02it's probably
00:15:03the date of birth
00:15:04of the band
00:15:05of the White One.
00:15:06It used to have other names.
00:15:14That's the day
00:15:16in which there is
00:15:16one of the murders
00:15:17more brutal,
00:15:19more ignoble
00:15:20of this saga
00:15:21assuming that the others
00:15:22they can be
00:15:23less ignoble.
00:15:24First Zecchi
00:15:26he's waiting
00:15:28his wife and daughter
00:15:29on a street
00:15:31from the outskirts
00:15:31from Bologna
00:15:32when he attends
00:15:33the witness
00:15:34to a robbery
00:15:35to a tobacconist
00:15:36from loot
00:15:36truly negligible.
00:15:45He is killed
00:15:46in cold blood
00:15:47without any need
00:15:50because anyway
00:15:51even if Primo Zecchi
00:15:52had started
00:15:53to take the numbers
00:15:54of the license plate
00:15:55of the bandits
00:15:56it was about
00:15:57of a stolen car
00:15:58and he wouldn't have it anyway
00:15:58brought to their
00:16:00identification
00:16:00and is killed
00:16:01precisely because
00:16:02he dared to challenge
00:16:03the criminals.
00:16:10These go down
00:16:12and they shoot him
00:16:13cold
00:16:14they leave him dead
00:16:16when they arrive
00:16:17the wife
00:16:17and the daughter
00:16:18they find it underneath
00:16:19a dirty sheet
00:16:20of blood.
00:16:26The band
00:16:27of the White Ono
00:16:28keep sowing
00:16:30terror
00:16:31and murders.
00:16:32There is something
00:16:33that strikes
00:16:34particularly
00:16:35in this
00:16:36modus operandi.
00:16:38Were they
00:16:38of the normal ones
00:16:39robbers
00:16:40they would think
00:16:40to the loot
00:16:41and then to escape
00:16:42how is it done?
00:16:43Usually
00:16:44in the underworld.
00:16:45There's something here
00:16:45moreover
00:16:45a persecution
00:16:47a violence
00:16:47a ferocity
00:16:48that leave
00:16:49to intuit
00:16:49of the ends
00:16:50further
00:16:51hidden
00:16:52Why
00:16:52this violence
00:16:53Why
00:16:54certain murders
00:16:55really
00:16:56for the purpose
00:16:57racist
00:16:57that seem
00:16:58completely
00:16:59incomprehensible.
00:17:01Carlo Lucarelli
00:17:02one who has
00:17:04written a lot
00:17:05of this story
00:17:06who wrote to us
00:17:07fiction
00:17:07but which also has
00:17:08intuition
00:17:09in one of his
00:17:10tale
00:17:11of the inspector
00:17:11Coliandro
00:17:12that behind
00:17:13there could be
00:17:14of the guardians
00:17:14of the order
00:17:15Carlo Lucarelli
00:17:16he lingers
00:17:17on the elements
00:17:18which constitute
00:17:19the most part
00:17:19intriguing
00:17:20more chilling
00:17:21of this story
00:17:22it seems
00:17:22have the elements
00:17:24perfect
00:17:25for a screenplay
00:17:26and for a story
00:17:27it's a story
00:17:28among other things
00:17:28where it comes into play
00:17:29very Bologna
00:17:30how many crimes
00:17:31are committed
00:17:32in that
00:17:33which is a city
00:17:34notoriously
00:17:34welcoming
00:17:35a city
00:17:36laboratory
00:17:37of progressivism
00:17:38a city
00:17:39which had been
00:17:40already so hard
00:17:41wound
00:17:42from the massacre
00:17:43of August 2nd
00:17:44of 1980
00:17:45we really feel it
00:17:46like Lucarelli
00:17:47tells us
00:17:48the feeling
00:17:48of those years
00:17:49in Bologna
00:17:50for businesses
00:17:51criminals
00:17:52of the White One
00:18:00for Emilia Romagna
00:18:01and above all
00:18:01for Bologna
00:18:02the story
00:18:03of the White One
00:18:03was
00:18:04a huge shock
00:18:05was
00:18:05own
00:18:06awareness
00:18:06that we were not
00:18:07the happy island
00:18:08what we knew
00:18:09but anyway
00:18:09more than the city
00:18:11of the three Ts
00:18:11famous
00:18:12towers
00:18:13tits
00:18:13tortellini
00:18:14that we too
00:18:15we were having fun
00:18:16to know
00:18:17we were instead
00:18:18a kind
00:18:18from Los Angeles
00:18:19hellish
00:18:19in which
00:18:20they killed each other
00:18:21Carabinieri
00:18:21on the street
00:18:22there were assaults
00:18:23to nomad camps
00:18:25they were shooting
00:18:26to the witnesses
00:18:27to people
00:18:28which normally
00:18:29it wouldn't have been
00:18:30victim
00:18:30of a robbery
00:18:36was
00:18:37a huge blow
00:18:38huge
00:18:39a big shock
00:18:39for Italy
00:18:40and for the rest
00:18:41of the country
00:18:41it wasn't
00:18:42the same thing
00:18:42a bit
00:18:43because things
00:18:44which take place in Bologna
00:18:44they take place in the province
00:18:45I'm a species
00:18:46of a small laboratory
00:18:47something doesn't happen
00:18:48but it happens there
00:18:49it's not that important
00:18:51because otherwise
00:18:52with a case
00:18:52of that kind
00:18:53with that
00:18:54what was happening
00:18:54in our streets
00:18:55I would have expected
00:18:57the army
00:18:58somewhere
00:18:58as a wrong answer
00:19:00naturally
00:19:01but
00:19:01incredible attention
00:19:02all eyes on
00:19:03what the hell about
00:19:04it's happening in Bologna
00:19:05instead no
00:19:06it was us
00:19:07to be distressed
00:19:07the rest of Italy
00:19:08he said
00:19:09oh well
00:19:09things happen
00:19:14we are one step away
00:19:15from all that
00:19:15what will happen
00:19:16in 92
00:19:16it's ending
00:19:18the so-called
00:19:19Cold War
00:19:19all over the world
00:19:20change
00:19:20Italy changes
00:19:21Bologna is also changing
00:19:22it is anyway
00:19:23a period
00:19:23of laboratories
00:19:24of how to say
00:19:25of designs
00:19:26of the future
00:19:27that in Bologna
00:19:27they are doing it
00:19:28it's always been like this
00:19:29Bologna
00:19:30a small laboratory
00:19:30where you put together
00:19:32left
00:19:33right
00:19:34you were thinking
00:19:35on how to do things
00:19:36in a certain way
00:19:36almost beyond
00:19:37of ideology
00:19:38very practically
00:19:39not for nothing
00:19:40Bologna is one of the cities
00:19:41most affected
00:19:41from this point of view
00:19:49it happened to me once
00:19:50to go to the headquarters
00:19:51of the association of relatives and victims
00:19:54of August 2nd
00:19:54and to stay still like this
00:19:56with the finger
00:19:56on the intercom
00:19:57because there was
00:19:58Association of Victims of August 2nd
00:20:00Victims Association 1 White
00:20:01Ustica Victims Association
00:20:02and two more massacres were missing
00:20:07At that time
00:20:08a city so wounded
00:20:09she is not injured by chance
00:20:10probably
00:20:11Here you are
00:20:12that was a moment
00:20:12transitional
00:20:13in which
00:20:14the things that happened
00:20:16they felt more
00:20:17I don't want to say
00:20:18that for this reason
00:20:19the White One
00:20:19it was
00:20:21someone's instrument
00:20:22but the events
00:20:23of the White One
00:20:24Surely
00:20:24they hit
00:20:25a city
00:20:25where something was happening
00:20:32the widespread feeling
00:20:34among the people
00:20:34but not only
00:20:35even among the police forces
00:20:36At that time
00:20:36it was anyway
00:20:37a feeling
00:20:37of anxiety
00:20:38and fear
00:20:38I remember
00:20:39than with another journalist
00:20:41let's take a tour
00:20:41with two policemen
00:20:42of the mobile squad
00:20:43it was a ride
00:20:44agreed
00:20:45with the manager
00:20:46etc.
00:20:46we were walking around
00:20:47for the city
00:20:47to see
00:20:48What is the city of Bologna like?
00:20:49view from a car
00:20:50of the mobile
00:20:51at a certain point
00:20:51these see
00:20:52a stopped car
00:20:53in a suspicious position
00:20:54with the engine running
00:20:55with inside
00:20:56a suspicious person
00:20:57so they leave us
00:20:58far away
00:20:59and they say
00:20:59we have to go
00:21:00to see who's there
00:21:00they call
00:21:01with the thing
00:21:02they warn
00:21:03and they go out
00:21:03and I tell him
00:21:04Like this
00:21:04and if they are those
00:21:05of the White Uno
00:21:06the policeman turns around
00:21:07and he tells me
00:21:08then we are dead
00:21:09but he's telling me seriously
00:21:10so this was
00:21:11the feeling
00:21:12eye
00:21:12those of the Uno Bianca
00:21:14I am something
00:21:14that's scary
00:21:15there is the band
00:21:16of the White Uno
00:21:16in Bologna
00:21:19for now
00:21:20let's stop here
00:21:22we will return
00:21:22with history
00:21:23of the White Uno
00:21:24after the news
00:21:28January 4, 1991
00:21:32peripheral neighborhood
00:21:33from Bologna
00:21:34the pillar
00:21:35the band
00:21:36kills
00:21:37three carabinieri
00:21:38and an ambush
00:21:40with technique
00:21:41military
00:21:42preparation
00:21:43professional
00:21:44violence
00:21:45cold
00:21:46and cynical
00:21:47and the technique
00:21:49of robbers
00:21:50it's the modus operandi
00:21:52of whoever wants
00:21:53take the loot
00:21:54and then leave
00:21:55the massacre
00:21:56of the pillar
00:21:57constitutes
00:21:58the real point
00:21:59turning point
00:22:00of the tragic
00:22:01story
00:22:02of the band
00:22:02of the White Uno
00:22:03new terrorism
00:22:05non-political
00:22:06but implemented
00:22:06from criminal gangs
00:22:07maybe this is it
00:22:09the explanation
00:22:10of the ambush
00:22:10that in Bologna
00:22:11last night
00:22:12it cost his life
00:22:12among the carabinieri
00:22:13the eldest
00:22:14he was 22 years old
00:22:25the massacre
00:22:26of the pillar
00:22:26it's one of the things
00:22:27that strikes
00:22:28more all
00:22:28and that struck me
00:22:29for example
00:22:30when I dealt with it
00:22:31even after
00:22:31it's a horrible thing
00:22:33why they are killed
00:22:34three carabinieri
00:22:34who are very young
00:22:41I'm here to do
00:22:42a service
00:22:43according to them
00:22:43normal
00:22:44at that moment
00:22:44I'm on patrol
00:22:45for the pillar
00:22:46they have to be careful
00:22:47that there had been
00:22:49of the attacks
00:22:50with Molotov cocktails
00:22:51to a school
00:22:52which was used
00:22:53as a shelter
00:22:54for non-EU citizens
00:22:55then they
00:22:56they simply have to
00:22:56pass by there
00:22:57watch
00:22:58hold on a little
00:22:59from that pillar
00:22:59and go back
00:23:00instead they find themselves
00:23:01within
00:23:02suddenly
00:23:03of an act of war
00:23:16with people shooting at him
00:23:17with people shooting at him
00:23:18with weapons of war
00:23:19and with a technique
00:23:20which is almost commando
00:23:21so these three poor policemen
00:23:23that they can do
00:23:24the miracles
00:23:25because they can answer
00:23:26to shoot
00:23:27despite all that
00:23:28what's happening
00:23:29to hurt even one
00:23:29they advanced slowly
00:23:32marking the steps
00:23:33like in a dance macabre
00:23:35they started shooting
00:23:37when they were
00:23:37a few meters away
00:23:38from the police car
00:23:49they were scary
00:23:50not only because they had
00:23:52weapons in hand
00:23:53and the face covered
00:23:54but why did they move
00:23:56with perfect synchronicity
00:23:57moving sideways
00:23:59from left to right
00:24:00as seen in the cinema
00:24:05they were shooting at the police
00:24:07and to cushion
00:24:09the gunshots
00:24:10they did strange gymnastics
00:24:12that I will never be able to forget
00:24:14they bent over
00:24:16for a moment
00:24:17on the knees
00:24:23then with ease
00:24:25after shooting
00:24:26other shots
00:24:27at very close range
00:24:29they left
00:24:30safe
00:24:31with a slow pace
00:24:33and they left again
00:24:34with the White Fiat Uno
00:24:40my brother believed a lot
00:24:42in the value of the currency
00:24:44he liked it a lot
00:24:45his work
00:24:46he was very passionate
00:24:48and we didn't imagine it
00:24:51that the murderers
00:24:52they could have been policemen
00:24:54among other things
00:24:55my father too
00:24:55he was a policeman
00:24:57and then
00:24:58when we found out
00:24:59it was a double pain
00:25:01the pain of losing a child
00:25:02and the pain of knowing
00:25:04In short
00:25:04who were policemen
00:25:09and a claim arrives
00:25:11from an acronym
00:25:13which is signed
00:25:13Armed Phalanx
00:25:16so it appears
00:25:17in the galaxy
00:25:18of our country
00:25:20accustomed
00:25:21unfortunately to compare
00:25:22for years now
00:25:23with terrorism
00:25:24a new subject
00:25:26we'll talk about it
00:25:27we will talk about this track
00:25:29of the political claim
00:25:30which would provide
00:25:31a motive
00:25:32to the actions
00:25:33in appearance
00:25:33more incomprehensible
00:25:35of the band
00:25:35of the White Uno
00:25:36what matters
00:25:38at this moment
00:25:39is to underline
00:25:40as despite
00:25:41the Pillar Massacre
00:25:42and after the massacre
00:25:43of the pillar
00:25:44the band
00:25:45not only
00:25:45don't take it
00:25:46a break
00:25:47don't run away
00:25:48but insist
00:25:49continue
00:25:50in its wake of violence
00:25:51continuing
00:25:52to strike
00:25:53once again
00:25:54Bologna
00:25:57a ruthless execution
00:25:59of possible matrix
00:26:00terrorist
00:26:00or a bloody one
00:26:02robbery
00:26:02these are the two hypotheses
00:26:04more likely
00:26:04but they don't exclude others
00:26:06arms trafficking
00:26:07for example
00:26:07under investigation by investigators
00:26:09since this morning
00:26:10when
00:26:10shortly after
00:26:11noon
00:26:12they were discovered
00:26:13in an armory
00:26:14in the center of Bologna
00:26:15the lifeless bodies
00:26:16by Licia Ansaloni
00:26:1748 years old
00:26:17shop owner
00:26:19and his assistant
00:26:20Peter Capolungo
00:26:2165 years old
00:26:22former carabiniere
00:26:23retired
00:26:24she killed
00:26:25with a blow to the head
00:26:26he reached the neck
00:26:27lying behind the counter
00:26:28on the bench
00:26:29the empty box
00:26:30of a Beretta pistol
00:26:31perhaps the murder weapon
00:26:32while from the shelves
00:26:34on the walls
00:26:35they would be missing a rifle
00:26:36machine gun
00:26:36and some guns
00:26:37that the murderer
00:26:38or the assassins
00:26:39they might have taken away
00:26:46the wise men decided
00:26:47to take over
00:26:49of two pistols
00:26:50of the Beretta
00:26:51which were considered
00:26:53at that moment
00:26:53the best weapons
00:26:54that were in circulation
00:26:55so much so that they were
00:26:56also in titration
00:26:57to the forces
00:26:57of the American police
00:26:58once inserted
00:26:59the charger
00:27:00they killed
00:27:00Licia Ansaloni
00:27:02who was the owner
00:27:03of the armory
00:27:03and Pietro Capolungo
00:27:05who was a former carabinieri
00:27:07who collaborated
00:27:08with this woman
00:27:11when it was discovered
00:27:13that Savi Roberto
00:27:14and Savi Fabio
00:27:15they were the authors
00:27:16of this double homicide
00:27:17it was discovered that
00:27:19actually
00:27:20Savi Roberto
00:27:21left the armory
00:27:22entered service
00:27:24at the police station
00:27:25which was there not far away
00:27:27he put on his uniform
00:27:27and was sent
00:27:29just to keep watch
00:27:30the armory
00:27:31during in short
00:27:32the inspections
00:27:33of the scientific police
00:27:37The curious thing
00:27:39that none of us
00:27:39could have known
00:27:40Obviously
00:27:41at that moment
00:27:42that our cameras
00:27:43they resumed
00:27:44two of the components
00:27:45of the band
00:27:46of the white Ono
00:27:47Roberto Savi
00:27:48and Marino Occhipinti
00:27:49in uniform
00:27:59They were just
00:28:00just a few meters away
00:28:01from the entrance
00:28:02of the armory
00:28:04and they were
00:28:04how to say
00:28:05doing services
00:28:06of battle
00:28:11A customer
00:28:13which is found
00:28:14in the armory
00:28:14Before
00:28:15of the murders
00:28:16and that comes out
00:28:18but you see
00:28:18Roberto Savi
00:28:19within
00:28:20of the armory
00:28:21provides
00:28:22an identikit
00:28:23to the police
00:28:25and this identikit
00:28:27it's practically
00:28:28the image
00:28:30almost detailed
00:28:31by Roberto Savi
00:28:33an identikit
00:28:34who was hung
00:28:35in all offices
00:28:36of the police headquarters
00:28:37which portrayed
00:28:38perfectly
00:28:39the appearances
00:28:40by Roberto Savi
00:28:41when he came
00:28:42compared later
00:28:43after the capture
00:28:45we realize
00:28:46that those
00:28:47in identikit
00:28:47actually
00:28:48it was a photograph
00:28:50more than in identikit
00:29:00we're a bit there
00:29:01amazed
00:29:02that no one
00:29:03had
00:29:05associated
00:29:05the identikit
00:29:06to Roberto Savi
00:29:08given that in any case
00:29:09he worked in the same office
00:29:11that identikit
00:29:11it was in all the offices
00:29:13of the police headquarters
00:29:14mobile squad
00:29:14criminal police
00:29:15maybe even in the operations room
00:29:17anyway to the patrol cars
00:29:18to the guardhouse
00:29:19it was in all points
00:29:21police station key
00:29:23but no one ever
00:29:24has associated
00:29:25that identikit
00:29:26to Savi
00:29:27Roberto
00:29:29it's natural
00:29:30for the investigators
00:29:31after the massacre
00:29:32of the pillar
00:29:33think
00:29:33that can be treated
00:29:35of exponents
00:29:37that once
00:29:38they worked
00:29:39with the police
00:29:40former
00:29:42colleagues
00:29:42anyway of people
00:29:44with military training
00:29:45but the investigations
00:29:46they lead nowhere
00:29:47until at a certain point
00:29:49you don't arrive
00:29:50to a possible turning point
00:29:52they are arrested
00:29:54some characters
00:29:56the brothers
00:29:57William and Peter Sant'Agata
00:29:59Massimiliano Motta
00:30:01and a Camorrista
00:30:02Cutoliano
00:30:03away to Bologna
00:30:05Marco Medda
00:30:07there is someone
00:30:08who accuses them
00:30:09she's a friend
00:30:10of the Sant'Agata brothers
00:30:11Simonetta Bersani
00:30:14Peter Sant'Agata
00:30:15he has an alibi
00:30:17but he is not believed
00:30:19at least for the whole
00:30:20a long phase
00:30:20of the investigations
00:30:21there is a comparison
00:30:23that we want you
00:30:24to propose again
00:30:24the comparison
00:30:25between Bersani
00:30:26which accuses
00:30:27and Peter Sant'Agata
00:30:28which is a page
00:30:30important
00:30:30of ours
00:30:31judicial news
00:30:37I would like to ask you
00:30:38just one thing
00:30:39I don't ask you anything else
00:30:43when it is that you decide
00:30:44to tell the truth
00:30:47I said
00:30:47up to now
00:30:48the truth
00:30:50Meaning what
00:30:51is it you maybe
00:30:52what he has to say
00:30:54Thank you
00:30:57who must tell the truth
00:30:59nothing more
00:31:00Yes
00:31:04I remember that I was there
00:31:06to this dramatic confrontation
00:31:08with Simonetta Bersani
00:31:10and Peter Sant'Agata
00:31:12with Peter Sant'Agata
00:31:14who kept asking
00:31:16Why
00:31:16why he had said
00:31:18something that wasn't true
00:31:19when everyone knew
00:31:20that he that evening
00:31:21he was at the bar
00:31:22and everyone had seen it
00:31:23there are many other witnesses
00:31:25because I know them
00:31:26and why he had told
00:31:29that he was the one who shot
00:31:30a dramatic confrontation
00:31:32also because
00:31:33Simonetta Bersani
00:31:34he hadn't answered
00:31:35on why
00:31:36he kept saying
00:31:37I saw you
00:31:38and he kept saying
00:31:39it's impossible
00:31:40that you saw me
00:31:41because you know well
00:31:41that that evening
00:31:42I was at the bar
00:31:43and I was with these other people
00:31:45that you know well
00:31:46and then you know me
00:31:47and I can't have done it
00:31:48something like that
00:31:49the things I saw
00:31:50those are those
00:31:51so I see
00:31:52what do they change
00:31:53what's happening
00:31:54Now
00:31:58and we arrived
00:32:00in January 1994
00:32:02they have passed
00:32:03seven years
00:32:04from the beginning
00:32:05of the tragic deeds
00:32:07if I may say so
00:32:08of the band
00:32:09of the White Uno
00:32:10the action moves
00:32:12in Rimini
00:32:13here at the Prosecutor's Office
00:32:14of the Republic
00:32:14there is a young replacement
00:32:15Daniele Paci
00:32:16and he has the right idea
00:32:18Peace plants
00:32:20a pool
00:32:21an investigative pool
00:32:22with the carabinieri
00:32:23and policemen
00:32:24and puts us in
00:32:26also Luciano Baglioni
00:32:27and Pietro Costanza
00:32:28that is, the two colleagues
00:32:29of the two policemen
00:32:31fallen
00:32:32one dead
00:32:33and the other wound
00:32:33during the first
00:32:35ambush
00:32:36the one for extortion
00:32:37to Grossi
00:32:39well
00:32:39awareness
00:32:41it's strong
00:32:41something must be done
00:32:42that has not been done
00:32:44up until that moment
00:32:45and that's how it is
00:32:46what is done
00:32:46when the investigations
00:32:47are conducted
00:32:48in an intelligent way
00:32:50accurate
00:32:51scientific
00:32:52we could say
00:32:53all the cards are taken back
00:32:54starting in this case
00:32:56from the armory episode
00:32:58of May 2, 1991
00:32:59and we start studying
00:33:01one wonders
00:33:02what didn't work
00:33:03where we went wrong
00:33:05what can we do
00:33:06moreover
00:33:07and that's how it is
00:33:08from this moment on
00:33:10that the days
00:33:11of the White Uno
00:33:12they are counted
00:33:17the first investigation
00:33:19what we did
00:33:20let's say new
00:33:21after this activity
00:33:23of analysis
00:33:23it was that
00:33:24to imagine
00:33:26of the subjects
00:33:28what they did
00:33:29I often use
00:33:30of weapons
00:33:30and we knew
00:33:31which were very precise
00:33:33in the aim
00:33:33in the shot
00:33:47and then it came to mind
00:33:48to investigate
00:33:49a bit
00:33:50the environments
00:33:51of who did it
00:33:52role-playing games
00:33:53war games
00:33:54and we do
00:33:55an investigation
00:33:56in this sense
00:34:00so the pool
00:34:01had to have
00:34:02this duration
00:34:04until June
00:34:06July
00:34:07so long as
00:34:08the band
00:34:08of the White Uno
00:34:09continued
00:34:10to commit
00:34:10of the robberies
00:34:11we decided
00:34:12an extension
00:34:13up to the point
00:34:14September
00:34:14October
00:34:15while we
00:34:15we were there
00:34:16to discuss
00:34:17of the dissolution
00:34:18of the pool
00:34:19of police
00:34:20and carabinieri
00:34:21the band
00:34:21of the White Uno
00:34:22he committed
00:34:23his latest robbery
00:34:25to the detriment
00:34:27of an agency
00:34:28of the Bank
00:34:29of Agriculture
00:34:30Bologna
00:34:33months later
00:34:35the pool
00:34:36was dissolved
00:34:37but I
00:34:37and Constance
00:34:38Peter
00:34:39we continued
00:34:40to investigate
00:34:41on the band
00:34:42of the White Uno
00:34:43even for wanting
00:34:44of our superiors
00:34:45because rightly so
00:34:46what
00:34:47we had acquired
00:34:48up until that moment
00:34:49it couldn't be thrown away
00:34:50also because then
00:34:51the band
00:34:51he kept robbing
00:34:53he kept killing
00:34:54and to hurt people
00:35:04we have decided
00:35:06to do exactly
00:35:07what
00:35:08they did it themselves
00:35:10we said
00:35:11if they do
00:35:12the inspections
00:35:13let's do them too
00:35:14let's do stakeouts
00:35:16in front of
00:35:16to possible goals
00:35:18and maybe
00:35:20we stumble
00:35:21in some of them
00:35:22which in turn
00:35:23he's going to do it
00:35:23this type of activity
00:35:25and then
00:35:26November 3rd
00:35:27there was the turning point
00:35:29us out of 85 banks
00:35:31we had identified
00:35:327 banks
00:35:32and every day
00:35:34we went there
00:35:34in these institutions
00:35:36and in the morning
00:35:37and in the afternoon
00:35:40and we noticed
00:35:42to Santa Giustina
00:35:43a white Fiat Tipo
00:35:46let's say particular
00:35:47because he had
00:35:47an illegible license plate
00:35:51let's see this type
00:35:52that in the parking lot
00:35:54we'll see it again
00:35:54that is put on
00:35:55on the highway
00:35:57we followed her
00:35:59to find a place
00:36:01especially to stop her
00:36:03we lost it
00:36:04for a while
00:36:05because there are curves there
00:36:06to go to Toriana
00:36:08and in those stretches there
00:36:09we lost it
00:36:10when we are in Toriana
00:36:12we haven't seen her again
00:36:13logically
00:36:14we went
00:36:15towards the country
00:36:18we cross the center
00:36:19from above
00:36:20let's see this Fiat Tipo
00:36:21in an area
00:36:22made with horseshoes
00:36:24where there were
00:36:24of the small apartments
00:36:25we saw
00:36:26which is parked
00:36:27and we from afar
00:36:28we left
00:36:29our car
00:36:30and we went on foot
00:36:31we saw it
00:36:35enter at number 29
00:36:37he had a white envelope
00:36:39in hand
00:36:40he was going up the stairs
00:36:41at that point there
00:36:42we had a Civic
00:36:44Civic 29
00:36:45Freedom Road
00:36:46we went
00:36:47let's go to the town hall
00:36:51the clerk gave us
00:36:53the card
00:36:54of the fishing license
00:36:56in which there was
00:36:57a photograph
00:36:58there was the photograph
00:36:59of this subject
00:36:59of this Savi Fabio
00:37:01me and Peter
00:37:02we looked at her
00:37:02and in it
00:37:04we recognized
00:37:05that person
00:37:07which was imprinted
00:37:09in a frame
00:37:11extrapolated by us
00:37:12following
00:37:13the robbery
00:37:13accomplished
00:37:13in a bank
00:37:14from Cesena
00:37:15and accomplished
00:37:17Always
00:37:17from the components
00:37:18of the band
00:37:19of the White Uno
00:37:29there was an exclamation
00:37:31at that moment
00:37:31between us
00:37:32an exclamation
00:37:33by surprise
00:37:34so much so that
00:37:35the employee
00:37:36he looked at us
00:37:37him too
00:37:38a little surprised
00:37:39from our behavior
00:37:40and tells us
00:37:41but there is something
00:37:42that's not going well
00:37:43and tells you
00:37:44no no look
00:37:44don't worry
00:37:46if he can help it
00:37:46a copy
00:37:47of this card
00:37:48and he made us
00:37:50the photocopy
00:37:51and from there
00:37:52we went out
00:37:56there
00:37:57we're a bit there
00:38:01get agitated
00:38:01why the photographs
00:38:02they were identical
00:38:04Meaning what
00:38:05it was enough to put it on him
00:38:06the wig
00:38:06and it was the same person
00:38:13an individual
00:38:14that we
00:38:15we had nicknamed
00:38:16the big jaw
00:38:17Why
00:38:17he had this
00:38:19particular physiognomy
00:38:21this jaw
00:38:22pronounced
00:38:23he had glasses
00:38:24Ray-Ban type
00:38:25one thing
00:38:26Very
00:38:27particular
00:38:34at this point
00:38:35although
00:38:36Baglione and Costanza
00:38:37they already know
00:38:38from the license
00:38:39fishing
00:38:40had
00:38:40in Torriana
00:38:41that Fabio Savi
00:38:42It is one of the components
00:38:43of the white one
00:38:44they extend
00:38:45the research
00:38:46in Bologna
00:38:48and here
00:38:49it comes to light
00:38:50that Fabio Savi
00:38:51he has a brother
00:38:52brother Roberto
00:38:53him too
00:38:54he has weapons
00:38:55and among these weapons
00:38:56there is the machine gun
00:38:56R70
00:38:57similar model
00:38:58to that
00:38:59used
00:39:00for the massacre
00:39:00of the pillar
00:39:01maybe this is it
00:39:02the explanation
00:39:03of the Guato
00:39:04that in Bologna
00:39:05last night
00:39:05it cost his life
00:39:06among the carabinieri
00:39:07the machine gun
00:39:08R70
00:39:08leads directly back
00:39:10to Roberto Savi
00:39:11but it's not the first time
00:39:13that this connection
00:39:15could be done
00:39:17during the investigations
00:39:18for the massacre
00:39:19of the pillar
00:39:20it comes out
00:39:21that there are some
00:39:2230
00:39:22of specimens
00:39:23of that
00:39:24machine gun
00:39:25one of these
00:39:26specimens
00:39:26Exactly
00:39:27the number 26
00:39:28It's by Roberto Savi
00:39:29one thing
00:39:30which was already known
00:39:31in the cards
00:39:33it is filed
00:39:34as a colleague
00:39:35number 26
00:39:36belongs to a colleague
00:39:37it doesn't end here
00:39:39ask Roberto Savi
00:39:40to bring
00:39:41this machine gun
00:39:42to see how it works
00:39:43to make oneself
00:39:43educated
00:39:44of its functioning
00:39:45You are naturally wise
00:39:47he's not that stupid
00:39:48to bring
00:39:49the real machine gun
00:39:50he brings another one
00:39:52after putting
00:39:53out of order
00:39:53the previous one
00:39:54and the thing
00:39:55it ends there
00:39:56Balleone and Costanza
00:39:57they go to the police station
00:39:58from Bologna
00:39:59they have to make investigations
00:40:01on weapons
00:40:02they know that Fabio Savi
00:40:04he has a brother
00:40:05Roberto Savi
00:40:06but they have never seen
00:40:07Roberto Savi
00:40:08Who
00:40:10show them
00:40:11the file
00:40:13of the owner
00:40:14of weapons
00:40:15Roberto Savi
00:40:16she's a policewoman
00:40:16of the police headquarters
00:40:17from Bologna
00:40:18the file
00:40:19it is opened
00:40:19there is a photograph inside
00:40:21by Roberto Savi
00:40:22and the policewoman
00:40:23between centuries
00:40:24that photograph
00:40:26it's the same
00:40:27to the identikit
00:40:28that stands out
00:40:29for years
00:40:30at the police station
00:40:30from Bologna
00:40:31the identikit
00:40:32by one of the authors
00:40:33of the robbery
00:40:34of May 2nd
00:40:351991
00:40:36as if that wasn't enough
00:40:39that photograph
00:40:40same as the identikit
00:40:41that's it
00:40:42of a policeman
00:40:43in service
00:40:44right in that police station
00:40:46it seems incredible
00:40:47but it happened
00:40:50so there were
00:40:51of weapons
00:40:52that they could have
00:40:53to lead back
00:40:54to those responsible
00:40:55or at least
00:40:56to one of the officials
00:40:57of the white 1
00:40:58there was the identikit
00:40:59there was the photograph
00:41:00there was military preparation
00:41:02there were
00:41:02so many of those clues
00:41:04Then
00:41:05until
00:41:05they didn't arrive
00:41:06Baglioni and Costanza
00:41:07and the clues
00:41:08I am finally
00:41:09states placed
00:41:10everyone in line
00:41:15immediately
00:41:15let's get started
00:41:17the wiretaps
00:41:18on all users
00:41:19that we had available
00:41:20by Fabio Savi
00:41:21and those
00:41:22on a bar
00:41:23of Torriana
00:41:24where we thought
00:41:25that Fabio Savi
00:41:27could go
00:41:28to carry out
00:41:29of phone calls
00:41:32until we arrived
00:41:34to November 21st
00:41:35of 94
00:41:36When
00:41:38we had to intervene
00:41:39by force
00:41:40because we had understood
00:41:41intuition
00:41:42that from the wiretaps
00:41:43telephone
00:41:44they were preparing
00:41:45another blow
00:41:46on in the province
00:41:48of Ravenna
00:41:48at that point
00:41:49we said
00:41:50agree with
00:41:51Dr. Daniele Paci
00:41:53we said
00:41:53we can't
00:41:54allow him to do
00:41:56another blow
00:41:57because they
00:41:58they don't commit a simple robbery
00:41:59but they kill
00:42:01they hurt
00:42:02they shoot
00:42:06it was decided
00:42:08to follow them
00:42:09we followed
00:42:10Savi
00:42:10Fabio
00:42:11from Rimini
00:42:11and some colleagues
00:42:13Savi
00:42:14Roberto
00:42:14from Bologna
00:42:15with hope
00:42:16to take them
00:42:17maybe in fragrance
00:42:19Fabio Savi
00:42:21since Torriana
00:42:22it's a small town
00:42:22of very few inhabitants
00:42:24with care
00:42:26very tortuous
00:42:27immediately
00:42:28he realized
00:42:29to be followed
00:42:30that morning
00:42:31Fabio Savi
00:42:32he ran away
00:42:32the chase
00:42:34failed
00:42:35essentially
00:42:39I decided
00:42:41to carry out
00:42:43the searches
00:42:44that same evening
00:42:46and we decided
00:42:47to intervene
00:42:48and just
00:42:49Roberto
00:42:49he introduced himself
00:42:51at work
00:42:51he was surrounded
00:42:53from people
00:42:54of the Criminal Poll
00:42:56and they were performed
00:42:57the searches
00:42:58at Roberto's house
00:43:02were found
00:43:03cash
00:43:05about
00:43:05200 million lire
00:43:08was found
00:43:09the gun
00:43:10Berretta
00:43:10which had been
00:43:12robbed
00:43:13on Volturno Street
00:43:14hundreds
00:43:16of boxwood
00:43:17and cartridges
00:43:18who had
00:43:19within
00:43:20of the cellar
00:43:21the same one
00:43:22search
00:43:23was carried out
00:43:23in Torriana
00:43:24and there they found themselves
00:43:25all objects
00:43:26which he used
00:43:27the band
00:43:28to accomplish
00:43:29their own robberies
00:43:30Therefore
00:43:30these lamellae
00:43:32routes
00:43:34from cards
00:43:35of the SIP
00:43:35that came
00:43:36used
00:43:36for ignition
00:43:38of the car
00:43:39the wigs
00:43:41other guns
00:43:43and weapons
00:43:45which had been
00:43:45used
00:43:46in the course
00:43:47of the robberies
00:43:48and there
00:43:49there was
00:43:49the turning point
00:43:53Salvi Roberto
00:43:54he is arrested
00:43:55in Bologna
00:43:55and when
00:43:55he's coming back
00:43:56in the office
00:43:57colleagues
00:43:58they block it
00:43:59they find it
00:43:59with two magazines
00:44:00and he
00:44:01naturally
00:44:03he was ready
00:44:03to do
00:44:04the ending
00:44:04as he said
00:44:05kill
00:44:07more people
00:44:07possible
00:44:08and then
00:44:08get killed
00:44:09and this
00:44:10it was his
00:44:10final
00:44:11That
00:44:11in interrogations
00:44:12he told us
00:44:18Fabio
00:44:18taken
00:44:19on the fly
00:44:21his woman
00:44:21Eva Micola
00:44:22and with it
00:44:23he ran away
00:44:24we lost track
00:44:25shortly thereafter
00:44:26then we discovered
00:44:28afterwards
00:44:29which in reality
00:44:30he had taken
00:44:31Eva Micola
00:44:31he was gone
00:44:32in Forlì
00:44:33in Forlì
00:44:33had abandoned
00:44:35his car
00:44:36had done
00:44:36change the color
00:44:37of the hair
00:44:38to his woman
00:44:38they tried
00:44:39to reach
00:44:40the border
00:44:42to leave
00:44:42abroad
00:44:43but at the motorway restaurant
00:44:45from Tolmezzo
00:44:46there was a fight
00:44:47among themselves
00:44:47which was sedated
00:44:49from the intervention
00:44:50of the traffic police
00:44:52who arrested
00:44:53Sabi
00:44:54Fabio
00:44:54because found
00:44:55among other things
00:44:56in possession
00:44:56of the gun
00:44:57which then
00:44:57that's it
00:44:58who signed
00:44:59many murders
00:45:00during his
00:45:01raids
00:45:04the first
00:45:05to hear
00:45:05lever
00:45:06it was me
00:45:07naturally
00:45:08he didn't want to talk
00:45:09Why
00:45:09a bit
00:45:10out of fear
00:45:10but it wasn't
00:45:11a girl
00:45:12unprepared
00:45:14she was twenty years old
00:45:15but very clever
00:45:17and intelligent
00:45:18she understood
00:45:20that that one
00:45:20it was the last resort
00:45:21for her
00:45:22confess
00:45:23and free yourself
00:45:24and get out of it
00:45:25it is said
00:45:26they leave
00:45:27since 1987
00:45:28they start with
00:45:29the toll booths
00:45:30motorways
00:45:31with the famous
00:45:32regatta
00:45:33ghost
00:45:33what they did
00:45:34several robberies
00:45:35at the toll booths
00:45:35at that point there
00:45:37it opened
00:45:38the world
00:45:41and so
00:45:42thanks to their
00:45:44tenacity
00:45:44and to their
00:45:45intelligence
00:45:46and at work
00:45:47team
00:45:47Baglioni
00:45:48and Constance
00:45:49they succeed
00:45:50to maintain
00:45:51the promise
00:45:51formulated
00:45:52on the bed
00:45:53of death
00:45:53laurel
00:45:54colleague
00:45:54first victim
00:45:56of violence
00:45:57of the One
00:45:58White
00:45:59they capture
00:46:00and ensure
00:46:01to justice
00:46:02the policemen
00:46:03traitors
00:46:04and renegades
00:46:04this is therefore
00:46:06the story
00:46:06of policemen
00:46:07for good
00:46:08the policemen
00:46:08honest
00:46:09that they have
00:46:10released
00:46:10things
00:46:11okay
00:46:12and who has
00:46:13had the opportunity
00:46:14to attend
00:46:14the forces
00:46:15of the order
00:46:15who knows
00:46:16what kind
00:46:17of spirit
00:46:18of cohesion
00:46:19can be created
00:46:20in a body
00:46:20knows
00:46:20how much this
00:46:22you speak
00:46:23even to the heart
00:46:24of those who work
00:46:24of all
00:46:25women
00:46:25and the men
00:46:26honest
00:46:26in uniform
00:46:27that every day
00:46:29they help
00:46:29our community
00:46:31to move forward
00:46:32in history
00:46:33of the band
00:46:33of the One
00:46:34White
00:46:34they come out
00:46:35at this point
00:46:36all things
00:46:37that can be known
00:46:38then we leave
00:46:39for a moment
00:46:40by
00:46:40the chapter
00:46:41of those
00:46:41that maybe
00:46:42we don't have
00:46:42still known
00:46:43among these
00:46:44Also
00:46:44the custom
00:46:46with the use
00:46:46of explosives
00:46:52in criminal history
00:46:53of the White Uno
00:46:54There are
00:46:54of the evolutions
00:46:56in particular
00:46:57the use of explosives
00:46:58it is limited
00:46:59to the period
00:47:00that goes
00:47:00since 1989
00:47:01to 1991
00:47:06in this period
00:47:07we have
00:47:08studied
00:47:09in particular
00:47:10nine episodes
00:47:11of various nature
00:47:12and in all these
00:47:14they were
00:47:14used
00:47:16of the materials
00:47:17or stolen
00:47:19from deposits
00:47:20from caves
00:47:20of explosives
00:47:22civilians
00:47:23for civilian use
00:47:24or even
00:47:25explosive
00:47:26homemade
00:47:30it's very interesting
00:47:32Why
00:47:33in an era
00:47:34in which it did not exist
00:47:35Internet
00:47:35the wise men
00:47:37they used
00:47:38explosives
00:47:39that they were preparing
00:47:40at their home
00:47:41the recipes
00:47:42unfortunately today
00:47:43they are widespread
00:47:44but at the time
00:47:45without knowledge
00:47:47live
00:47:47with people
00:47:48that they had
00:47:49a formation
00:47:49military type
00:47:51by saboteurs
00:47:52this information
00:47:53they were not circulating
00:47:55Certainly
00:47:55in a widespread manner
00:48:01one thing
00:48:02which hit
00:48:03always everyone
00:48:04it was this
00:48:05excess
00:48:06of power
00:48:07offensive
00:48:09military
00:48:10which was flaunted
00:48:11both in use
00:48:12of firearms
00:48:13both in use
00:48:14of explosives
00:48:21in particular
00:48:22there have been
00:48:24explosions
00:48:24even serious ones
00:48:25even with numerous
00:48:26injured
00:48:26that they have not had
00:48:28no ability
00:48:30to make more effective
00:48:31the criminal action
00:48:32to rob
00:48:33a bank
00:48:34or a post office
00:48:38there is a display
00:48:39of explosives
00:48:40with few results
00:48:42when they use
00:48:43firearms
00:48:44probably
00:48:46they get
00:48:47of the loot
00:48:48more conspicuous
00:48:52now neutralized
00:48:53the components
00:48:54of the band
00:48:54of the white 1
00:48:55I'm in prison
00:48:56pending
00:48:57that the investigation
00:48:57finish
00:48:58and it opens
00:48:59the process
00:48:59and here it opens
00:49:00the chapter
00:49:01some big questions
00:49:03it is possible
00:49:04that they have acted
00:49:06alone
00:49:06it is possible
00:49:07that only
00:49:08a series
00:49:08of coincidences
00:49:09lucky
00:49:10or fortuitous
00:49:11if you prefer
00:49:12has guaranteed
00:49:13to them
00:49:13seven years
00:49:14of impunity
00:49:15and many mistakes
00:49:16and many false leads
00:49:17or is there something more
00:49:18there is someone
00:49:20behind
00:49:20the band
00:49:21of the white 1
00:49:22and this one
00:49:23it's a question
00:49:24that are asked
00:49:25in many
00:49:25I don't know
00:49:30what's behind it
00:49:31the white 1
00:49:32beyond that
00:49:32what does he say?
00:49:33Fabio Savi
00:49:33we have a truth
00:49:34judicial
00:49:35irrefutable
00:49:36that were theirs
00:49:37to do those things
00:49:37Very well
00:49:38it always remains
00:49:39a little doubt
00:49:43they were bandits
00:49:44who behaved
00:49:45like terrorists
00:49:46or terrorists
00:49:47who behaved
00:49:48like bandits
00:49:51and that is
00:49:52there was something
00:49:53behind the white 1
00:49:53there is something
00:49:54who protected it
00:49:55the action
00:49:56he made sure
00:49:57that they were not discovered
00:49:58even when maybe
00:49:59they could have been
00:50:00there is something
00:50:00which motivated
00:50:01the claims
00:50:02what they did
00:50:02other entities
00:50:03like the armed phalanx
00:50:04for example
00:50:04the speculations
00:50:05that have been made
00:50:06I do not believe
00:50:07up to that point
00:50:10I think the white 1
00:50:12it was a gang
00:50:12spontaneous
00:50:13up to half
00:50:14at least of his path
00:50:15a gang of madmen
00:50:17of crazy criminals
00:50:18of people like them
00:50:19who liked weapons
00:50:20with a certain ideology
00:50:21who liked to act
00:50:22to be Rambos
00:50:24and also kill
00:50:25even with taste
00:50:26to kill
00:50:26it was a project
00:50:27necessarily
00:50:29bloodthirsty
00:50:29No
00:50:30it wasn't necessarily
00:50:31bloodthirsty
00:50:32when I shot
00:50:33I've always shot
00:50:34why someone
00:50:35he got between me
00:50:36my end
00:50:36but anyway
00:50:37there was someone
00:50:39behind the band
00:50:39of the white 1
00:50:40this question
00:50:43is intended
00:50:43to stay
00:50:44unanswered
00:50:46or we have to
00:50:46to please
00:50:47some answers
00:50:48officers
00:50:49on the occasion
00:50:51of the murder
00:50:52by Graziano Mirri
00:50:53father of a policeman
00:50:55the senator
00:50:55Free Gualtieri
00:50:57Romagnolo
00:51:00he hypothesized
00:51:00he hypothesized
00:51:01the involvement
00:51:02of pieces
00:51:04splinters
00:51:04of the State
00:51:06apparatuses
00:51:07behind
00:51:07the activity
00:51:08of the band
00:51:09of the white 1
00:51:10evoking
00:51:11the story
00:51:12of the assassins
00:51:13of Brabant
00:51:14a band
00:51:15criminal
00:51:15operating
00:51:16in Belgium
00:51:17Between
00:51:171982
00:51:19and 1985
00:51:20with mode
00:51:21that somehow
00:51:22they remembered
00:51:23those
00:51:24of the band
00:51:24of the white 1
00:51:25and there too
00:51:26there were
00:51:2628 murders
00:51:28and 40 injuries
00:51:30on the other hand
00:51:32those
00:51:33it was years
00:51:33very particular
00:51:35terrorism
00:51:37it was finished
00:51:38but it also ended
00:51:39the Berlin Wall
00:51:41fell in 1989
00:51:43they looked out
00:51:44new strategies
00:51:45of mold
00:51:46mafioso
00:51:47terrorist
00:51:48through
00:51:48the attacks
00:51:50to the judges
00:51:50Falcone and Borsellino
00:51:51it was years
00:51:52extremely
00:51:53convulsive
00:51:54it was possible
00:51:55to hypothesize
00:51:56a new one
00:51:57strategy
00:51:58of tension
00:51:59these are
00:52:00actually
00:52:00the questions
00:52:01that still
00:52:02Today
00:52:03they feed
00:52:04the debate
00:52:04environment
00:52:05at 1 white
00:52:08to explain
00:52:10the crimes
00:52:10of the white 1
00:52:11and of the group
00:52:11of the wise men
00:52:12I'm going back
00:52:14of a couple
00:52:14of years
00:52:15to 1985
00:52:16When
00:52:17the band
00:52:18of Brabant
00:52:19Valley
00:52:19what does he do
00:52:20Exactly
00:52:21the same
00:52:21type
00:52:22of shares
00:52:23what they do
00:52:24the wise men
00:52:25with the white 1
00:52:26disappears
00:52:26into nothingness
00:52:29I'm never
00:52:30states
00:52:30identified
00:52:31I'm never
00:52:32states
00:52:33arrested
00:52:33Obviously
00:52:34but the thing
00:52:35interesting
00:52:36is that
00:52:36in the investigations
00:52:37which have been
00:52:38made
00:52:38it emerged
00:52:39a responsibility
00:52:41of Gladio
00:52:41Meaning what
00:52:42of the structure
00:52:42stay behind
00:52:43which had been
00:52:44created
00:52:44in operation
00:52:45let's say
00:52:46anti-communist
00:52:47immediately after
00:52:48the war
00:52:49Gladio
00:52:50it would have been
00:52:51behind
00:52:51the band
00:52:52of Brabant
00:52:53Valley
00:52:54and that
00:52:54what they did
00:52:55there in Belgium
00:52:56had a purpose
00:52:57that was that
00:52:58to sow
00:53:00the panic
00:53:00fear
00:53:01to get
00:53:03from the point of view
00:53:04political
00:53:04a consolidation
00:53:06from the
00:53:07let's say
00:53:08of the structures
00:53:09that have to do with
00:53:10with safety
00:53:11it's a bit
00:53:12the second half
00:53:13of the strategy
00:53:13of tension
00:53:25the red thread
00:53:26that unites
00:53:28the story
00:53:29of the one white
00:53:29to the strategy
00:53:30of tension
00:53:31that's it
00:53:31of fear
00:53:32in general
00:53:33fear
00:53:34to get
00:53:35from the point of view
00:53:36political
00:53:36a tightening
00:53:37of the laws
00:53:38a tightening
00:53:39of the rules
00:53:40greater control
00:53:41on the territory
00:53:42and then too
00:53:44as consequences
00:53:45collaterals
00:53:46Also
00:53:47let's say
00:53:47from one point of view
00:53:48racial
00:53:49from one point of view
00:53:51also social
00:53:52that is, in generating
00:53:53this fear
00:53:54means to get
00:53:55of the results
00:53:55even transversally
00:53:57in that sense
00:53:58the process
00:54:00to the components
00:54:01of the white one
00:54:02it opens
00:54:03in 1996
00:54:04from the point of view
00:54:06technician
00:54:06it's a process
00:54:07with a foregone conclusion
00:54:08because the mole
00:54:09evidentiary
00:54:10it really is
00:54:11imposing
00:54:12the sentences
00:54:13they are severe
00:54:14the brothers
00:54:15Savi
00:54:15they are condemned
00:54:16all to life imprisonment
00:54:18as well as
00:54:18Marine
00:54:19Occhipinti
00:54:19Peter Gugliotta
00:54:21he is condemned
00:54:21at 28 years old
00:54:22of imprisonment
00:54:23which then
00:54:23they will become
00:54:2418
00:54:25and Luca
00:54:25Vallicelli
00:54:26component
00:54:27marginal
00:54:28of the band
00:54:29he pleads guilty
00:54:29a punishment
00:54:303 years old
00:54:30and 8 months
00:54:31of imprisonment
00:54:32two years later
00:54:33in 1998
00:54:35the father
00:54:36of the brothers
00:54:37Savi
00:54:37he commits suicide
00:54:38for shame
00:54:43it hits you a lot
00:54:44in the processes
00:54:45the attitude
00:54:46of the Wise Men
00:54:47naturally
00:54:48how are they
00:54:49behave like them
00:54:53the face they had
00:54:54the smiles
00:54:55what they did
00:54:55there are some things
00:54:57that I am
00:54:57some details
00:54:58which are always
00:54:59remember
00:54:59the mother
00:55:00of a boy
00:55:01killed
00:55:02what he tells him
00:55:02you killed
00:55:03my son
00:55:03and he says
00:55:04then they make another one
00:55:05and then he laughs
00:55:14the Wise Men
00:55:15who laugh
00:55:15when there are
00:55:16the relatives
00:55:16of the victims
00:55:17that scream
00:55:18that is understood
00:55:19own
00:55:19that come
00:55:19held back
00:55:20from the carabinieri
00:55:21and they look at them
00:55:22and they laugh
00:55:22as if to say
00:55:23All right
00:55:24killed
00:55:25my son
00:55:2522 years old
00:55:29but barefoot
00:55:31this attitude
00:55:33I say it
00:55:33in quotation marks
00:55:34naturally
00:55:35from serial killer
00:55:36this is striking
00:55:37in the Wise Men
00:55:38and I think he did
00:55:38also a large part
00:55:40of their sentences
00:55:41of hatred
00:55:43and antipathy
00:55:44what's there
00:55:44towards them
00:55:45and the fact
00:55:45that they are still
00:55:46in jail
00:55:46obviously almost everyone
00:55:47without possibility
00:55:48to go out
00:55:48the process
00:55:49for the crimes
00:55:50of the band
00:55:50of the white 1
00:55:514 life sentences
00:55:52for the police
00:55:53responsible
00:55:54of 17 murders
00:55:55but condemns
00:55:56also for the ministry
00:55:57of the interior
00:55:57who will have to compensate
00:55:59the family members
00:55:59of the victims
00:56:00sentences aside
00:56:01the element
00:56:03more shocking
00:56:03of this story
00:56:04the fact remains
00:56:06that 5 components
00:56:07out of 6
00:56:08of the band
00:56:08of the white 1
00:56:09they were policemen
00:56:10we said
00:56:11Before
00:56:11of heroism
00:56:13by Baglioni
00:56:13and Constance
00:56:14that they have
00:56:15put things back
00:56:16okay
00:56:16unmasking
00:56:17their colleagues
00:56:18unworthy
00:56:19let's see now
00:56:20how she lived
00:56:22how she felt
00:56:23this anomaly
00:56:24tremendous
00:56:25of this case
00:56:26let's hear it
00:56:27from whom
00:56:28he studied
00:56:29he investigated
00:56:30but let's hear it
00:56:31also from the protagonists
00:56:33from the same
00:56:33Baglioni
00:56:34and Constance
00:56:40the most shocking thing
00:56:42is that this band
00:56:43of murderous criminals
00:56:44was formed
00:56:45almost exclusively
00:56:46by policemen
00:56:47only Fabio Savi
00:56:49he wasn't a policeman
00:56:50Roberto Savi
00:56:51police officer
00:56:51of the police headquarters
00:56:52from Bologna
00:56:53Marino Chipinti
00:56:54and Pietro Gugliotta
00:56:55them too
00:56:55policemen
00:56:56of the police headquarters
00:56:56from Bologna
00:56:57Luca Valicelli
00:56:58who entered
00:56:59and went out
00:57:00from the band
00:57:00in the initial phase
00:57:01him too
00:57:01he was a policeman
00:57:02of the police station
00:57:04from Cesena
00:57:12the story was
00:57:14very ugly
00:57:15Why
00:57:15when we discovered
00:57:16that these were
00:57:17policemen
00:57:18Meaning what
00:57:19it had occurred
00:57:21what
00:57:22we thought
00:57:23from the very beginning
00:57:25Meaning what
00:57:25that they were
00:57:26if they were ours
00:57:27era
00:57:29hard to accept
00:57:30still today
00:57:31I don't accept it
00:57:33difficult too
00:57:34talk about it
00:57:35Meaning what
00:57:36the idea
00:57:36That
00:57:36policemen
00:57:37paid by the state
00:57:38that they commit
00:57:39crimes
00:57:40for little money
00:57:41and kill
00:57:42people like that
00:57:43it's a thing
00:57:43that you can't
00:57:44accept
00:57:52never ever
00:57:53we would have thought
00:57:55that these subjects
00:57:57they wore
00:57:57of the uniforms
00:57:58that they were
00:57:59our own colleagues
00:58:00that they were
00:58:00in service
00:58:01that they were
00:58:02deputies
00:58:03In short
00:58:03to the defense
00:58:04of people
00:58:05not to kill them
00:58:06Here you are
00:58:07we investigated
00:58:08on former members
00:58:09belonging
00:58:10to the army
00:58:12to the police
00:58:13to the police
00:58:14to security guards
00:58:15many elements
00:58:17we analyzed
00:58:18but
00:58:19find out later
00:58:20that instead
00:58:21they were
00:58:21of our colleagues
00:58:22in service
00:58:23it was really
00:58:23a shot
00:58:25absurd
00:58:25for us
00:58:38in January
00:58:39of 2021
00:58:40the prosecutor's office
00:58:41from Bologna
00:58:42he opened
00:58:43a file
00:58:43cognitive
00:58:44on the massacre
00:58:46of the pillar
00:58:47actually
00:58:47they were
00:58:49valued
00:58:50of wiretaps
00:58:51already present
00:58:52on file
00:58:52that could
00:58:53open
00:58:54new scenarios
00:58:55investigative
00:58:56in short, it's going on
00:58:57digging
00:58:58Still
00:58:58in this
00:58:59story
00:59:00in search
00:59:01likely
00:59:02of any
00:59:03other accomplices
00:59:04or of possible
00:59:05covers
00:59:06there is still
00:59:08who does not give up
00:59:09to consider
00:59:10concluded
00:59:11the story
00:59:11of the White Uno
00:59:12for example
00:59:13one of the injured
00:59:15one of the victims
00:59:15Vito Tocci
00:59:16a policeman
00:59:17retired
00:59:18wound
00:59:19from the band
00:59:20in Miramare
00:59:21from Rimini
00:59:21April 30th
00:59:221991
00:59:23there is one of his
00:59:24declaration
00:59:25very stimulating
00:59:27on the band
00:59:27of the White Uno
00:59:28the sentences
00:59:29they delivered us
00:59:30a truth
00:59:31on which
00:59:31they still hover
00:59:32many shadows
00:59:33and many questions
00:59:34unanswered
00:59:35I will continue
00:59:36together with others
00:59:37family members
00:59:38of the victims
00:59:38of the White Uno
00:59:39to search
00:59:40the truth
00:59:41even with the presentation
00:59:43of a complaint
00:59:44in the prosecutor's office
00:59:45the theme is not
00:59:46that of certainty
00:59:47that no one has
00:59:48of existence
00:59:49of coverage
00:59:50or other scenarios
00:59:51but that
00:59:51always absolutely
00:59:53obligatory
00:59:53of research
00:59:54of the truth
00:59:55which above all
00:59:56from the point of view
00:59:57of the victims
00:59:58it's practically
00:59:59an obligation
01:00:00moral
01:00:02it was 1994
01:00:03this is the story
01:00:06that we told you
01:00:07which ends
01:00:08in that year
01:00:08in that
01:00:09it's also the year
01:00:10of a film
01:00:11who spoke
01:00:12to the hearts of so many
01:00:13all over the world
01:00:14it was called
01:00:15Philadelphia
01:00:15it was a movie
01:00:16who spoke
01:00:17of another great
01:00:21worry
01:00:21of that time
01:00:22of another great
01:00:23terror
01:00:23of that time
01:00:24AIDS
01:00:25the film
01:00:26with Tom Hanks
01:00:27and Denzel Washington
01:00:28contained
01:00:29a heartbreaking
01:00:30beautiful song
01:00:31a song
01:00:32a kind of
01:00:33hymn
01:00:33to solidarity
01:00:34to being together
01:00:36to rebuild
01:00:37and to start again together
01:00:38it was called
01:00:38Streets of Philadelphia
01:00:40and he sang it
01:00:41Bruce Springsteen
01:00:42she is Tommaso
01:00:44a little bust

01:02:29for this evening
01:02:32our story
01:02:33it ends here
01:02:34see you again
01:02:35next Monday
01:02:36for another
01:02:37crime news
01:02:38Good night
01:02:49we always say
01:02:50this one here
01:02:50Madonna
01:02:51resists too much
01:02:52how long has it been since he died?
01:03:00nothing exists
01:03:02equivalent
01:03:03to that photograph
01:03:04the photography
01:03:04that is, Donatella's
01:03:05Colasanti
01:03:06that emerges
01:03:06from the trunk
01:03:13and then they came
01:03:15uniforms
01:03:19and then they came
01:03:22raped
01:03:25and then they came

01:03:47That
