00:06Thank you all
00:39It seemed like the last, extreme act of love
00:46Instead it was a violent death
00:53Everyone had forgotten about him
01:02But the past cannot be erased
01:26Instead it was a violent death
01:56Rome, April 3, 1970
02:06The bedroom in the penthouse at Via Pallavicini 52
02:09It is flooded with flowers
02:13Lots of flowers, everywhere
02:18But spring has nothing to do with it
02:19The flowers are rotten
02:21And their smell is nauseating
02:26In the center of the room, lying on the bed
02:29A woman is found
02:32Only the baby doll gives away
02:34That it really is a woman
02:37Because what the cops see
02:39It's a mass of rotten flesh
02:45A decomposed corpse
02:47Locked in the bedroom
02:49Like inside a tomb
02:55The room, the police found it sealed
02:58With the slits covered with duct tape
03:00Someone even left some writings on it.
03:08The first one on a piece of paper says
03:10Today, January 20th, at 4pm
03:13I close the door as you ordered me
03:18The second one on the nearby wall reads
03:20What more could I do for you, my queen?
03:23Now all that remains for me to do is do what you ordered.
03:30It looks like a horror movie
03:32Instead it is a reality
03:34Which continually reveals disturbing details
03:40It's a special room
03:42And it's one of the scenarios
03:44Which I believe any noir screenwriter
03:47Of film noir
03:49Would like to repeat
03:52Because it's the best from this point of view
03:54It could be an extraordinary scene
03:58In its horribleness
04:01The police see that the pillow on which the woman's head rests
04:05It's bloody
04:06The investigators then found the bullet under the bed.
04:09Of a 7.65 caliber
04:15The gun that fired is not there
04:17But there's another weapon lying on the nightstand
04:19On a piece of cardboard with a mourning border
04:22The ticket features a photo of a beautiful woman from around Trentina
04:25And below a new message of death
04:27I chose the way and the time
04:30Because for better or for worse
04:31It was always me
04:32Free and alone
04:40Finally a name behind it
04:41Actually two
04:45Luciano Luberti announces the death of his beloved wife
04:48Carla Gruber
04:56The body lying on the bed therefore has an identity
04:59Carla Gruber's
05:02According to initial findings, Mrs. Carla Gruber
05:04She shot herself in the chest
05:06The bullet pierced the heart
05:08It came out of the left shoulder blade
05:10Punctures the mattress and sticks into the floor
05:13Mrs. Gruber in short
05:15She committed suicide
05:16To the great sorrow of the comrade
05:18Luciano Luberti
05:19And judging by everything else
05:21He wanted to say goodbye to the world
05:23With a tragedy ritual
05:24Put up by man
05:25But why?
05:27Who was this Carla Gruber?
05:33Carla Gruber was a beautiful 32-year-old lady
05:36He rarely left the Portuense palace
05:39And always together with his partner Luciano Luberti
05:41And to the little children
05:45Shy but kind to everyone
05:47She seemed to be very much in love with Luberti
05:49A big, fat man
05:51And 17 years older than her
05:54So why a shy but happy woman?
05:57Should he have killed himself?
05:59Even more so when organizing such a macabre farewell.
06:01What's the point?
06:02Nobody
06:04As if it were senseless
06:05It's the way the police
06:07She managed to discover the body
06:11The story of Carla Gruber
06:14It starts in March 1970
06:16When a letter arrives
06:19To the Attorney General of Rome
06:21From Luberti
06:22Where you communicate
06:24That this woman was dead
06:27Carla Gruber
06:28Who had committed suicide
06:30And it is indicated that she was located
06:33In the apartment
06:34In which he lived with Luberti himself
06:39Not only
06:40There is an even more disturbing detail
06:43Carla died on January 18th
06:45And for three months
06:47Luberti watched over his body
06:49Three months
06:50With neighbors who didn't notice
06:53Why?
06:53Because there was a great smell
06:55He always put flowers there
06:57Bouquets of flowers
06:58Deodorants, precisely.
07:01And then with a bottle of perfume
07:05A cheap perfume if you like.
07:07But I smell for him
07:09To mask the smell
07:11Which instead came
07:13Let's just say the stench
07:15That came from the corpse
07:16Which was gradually consumed
07:20For three months
07:22Luberti behaved
07:23As if Carla were still alive
07:26What's the point?
07:28Nobody
07:29It's a shocking story
07:31The shocking tragedy of Portuense
07:33But maybe for Luberti
07:35That story does have a meaning.
07:37But the investigators can't ask him that.
07:39Luciano Luberti has in fact disappeared
07:42After abandoning his Fiat 1500
07:44Near Termini station
07:49Meanwhile, the ballistic and toxicological reports
07:52They cast more than one doubt
07:53On the fact that Carla killed herself
07:56The trajectory of the bullet
07:58Who killed her
07:59It is incompatible with suicide
08:07But that's not all
08:10On Gruber's fingers
08:11Then no traces of burns were found
08:14It means he didn't shoot.
08:16Before dying
08:16The autopsy finally reveals
08:18That Carla Gruber
08:19It was filled with a powerful sedative
08:21The Luminal
08:23So Carla Gruber
08:25She couldn't have killed herself.
08:27Who did it then?
08:29Maybe Luberti himself
08:31His companion
08:32Which in fact has disappeared
08:33After spending three months
08:35Next to his dead companion
08:37Why all this?
08:40Because there was probably a crime to hide
08:50Investigators are on his trail
08:52But to find out where Luciano Luberti is
08:55We must first know who this man with the absurd behavior is.
08:58In the apartment at Via Pallavicini 52
09:01There are mountains of papers
09:03Writings, books, photographs, newspaper clippings
09:06They are precious testimonies
09:08Which provide an accurate portrait of Luberti
09:11But equally shocking
09:14Why Luciano Luberti comes out of it
09:16He is an absolutely frightening figure.
09:18Luberti is not just a weird guy
09:21Who watches over a corpse for three months
09:23Luciano Luberti is a monster
09:25A murderer
09:26A war criminal
09:32Luciano Luberti was born in Rome on April 25, 1921.
09:36First of three children
09:37He spent a difficult childhood
09:39He goes to school at the Deutsche Schule
09:41In Via Savoia
09:42Where strict discipline reigns
09:44Ambitious
09:45Luciano Luberti is attracted by the heroic stereotypes of fascism
09:49But he finds them too soft for his tastes.
09:52After September 8th
09:53Not happy with the Italian Social Republic
09:57He enlisted in the Wernher
10:00Among the Germans
10:04Luberti fought in the ranks of the German army
10:07On the Lazio coast
10:08Between Anzio and Nettuno
10:09On the Gothic Line
10:10Then to Alassio
10:11He knows German well
10:13And so it manages to become
10:15The team's interpreter
10:16From the Feldgendarmeria in Albenga
10:18In Liguria
10:18Under the command of Marshal Strupp
10:24I think that in some ways it was a choice that responded to the way he saw life.
10:29A way in which there was a force that somehow had to command
10:34And that he had to command not only from a practical point of view but also from a more ideological one.
10:44It was in Albenga that Luciano Luberti became a celebrity.
10:48A brutal, cruel, ferocious celebrity
10:54The guerrilla warfare between partisans and Nazis triggers repeated reprisals from the Feldgendarmeria
11:01Women, men, no one is safe from the shootings
11:06Over 60 people die, while many more suffer atrocious torture.
11:15People know who is behind those deaths and that violence.
11:18In the village they call him the Executioner of Albenga
11:21But the Executioner has a name
11:23He's not German, he's Italian
11:25His name is Luciano Luberti
11:33Why this terrible nickname, Executioner of Albenga?
11:37What did Luberti do to deserve it?
11:41Who is poor Carla Gruber's real partner?
11:50Rome, 1970
11:51A gruesome scene
11:53A woman who has been dead for months lies in her bed surrounded by flowers.
11:57The police discover it
11:59After being warned by the woman's partner, Luciano Luberti
12:03But the man disappeared
12:04Maybe because he killed her?
12:08It wouldn't be the first murder for Luciano Luberti
12:11Who during the war was nicknamed the Executioner of Albenga
12:19Luciano Luberti, known as the Executioner, was known in my family
12:24Ever since he had raided together with the Albenga gendarmerie
12:32In the house he had in a village near Garlenda and my grandparents had
12:37And there he took away a cousin of ours
12:42Sildo Simone who was then tortured for a week and shot at the mouth of Albenga
12:49Luberti enjoyed himself, he loved to rape, he loved to inflict pain.
12:56The rapes were not carried out in the usual way but by inserting a bottle and kicking it
13:06Or by cutting the nipples, or, or, or
13:10And in this prison approximately 60 individuals of various types were shot within three months.
13:21Very few partisans, but mostly relatives or friends or alleged accomplices of the partisans
13:29Those who manage to escape him tell of the sadism with which he enjoys terrorizing his victims.
13:36I had the misfortune of meeting a boy
13:41In a certain area of the Albenga Hills
13:44The Italian troops had withdrawn after September 8th
13:50Many weapons had been abandoned
13:52The kids from these mountain villages used to go there to collect guns, hand guns, etc.
14:01And once I and some others, I had in a backpack some hand bags
14:07I get caught by these thugs
14:13Enzo Rava and his two friends were immediately taken to Albenga
14:17They're just three guys, but for some it makes no difference
14:21Luciano Luberti looks at the three arrested and issues his sentence, the usual one
14:26And he says, you'll be shot today, you'll be shot tomorrow, you were me the day after tomorrow
14:35Only a lucky coincidence saves Enzo Rava's life
14:39But others have it worse.
14:41As for the family of the partisan leader of Albenga, the cemetery commander
14:47Luberti had broken into their house
14:51He had hit his mother, making her deaf.
14:56He also put his hands in a pretty obvious area of a 12 year old girl who was his sister
15:04And then the father was tied to a motorbike
15:08Who had been dragged to the family headquarters in Albenga
15:14And there they had tortured him by pulling out his teeth and so on.
15:18Not only that, they also took his girlfriend.
15:21Who was later found dead
15:24When they exhumed all the dead of the centa
15:28With a bottle stuck in the vagina
15:39The stories of Luberti's sad deeds are endless.
15:43Brothers, sisters, children, parents of partisans
15:46They are subjected to all sorts of humiliation
15:49Even sexual violence
15:51But here in Luberti something strange is happening
15:55He kills a young partisan
15:57He falls in love with the very young sister of this partisan
16:02And he decides that this must be his wife
16:05Luberti's first wife
16:07And one with a gun to the priest's temple because I answered
16:10She is married to him under these conditions
16:15The marriage will be dissolved after the release
16:18But it is a sign of Luberti's aberrations
16:21Which passes without interruption
16:23From the massacre to the romantic serenade
16:28With the liberation Luberti tries to escape
16:31He is accused of 60 murders
16:33But more than 200 are attributed to it
16:38In an attempt to emigrate to France
16:41At the Ventimiglia border
16:42He is recognized by a police officer
16:45He is the brother of a partisan killed by the executioner
16:47July 14, 1946
16:50Luciano Luberti
16:52AKA the Executioner of Albenga
16:53He is arrested
17:00He was sentenced to be shot in the back
17:03It ends up waiting for this shooting
17:07Until he is somehow pardoned
17:13The abolition of the death penalty
17:16He changed his sentence to life imprisonment
17:18But also in jail
17:19Luciano Luberti doesn't stay long
17:28Thanks to the amenities of those years
17:30Luciano Luberti remains in Portoazzurro prison
17:33Only seven years
17:34Five months and nineteen days
17:36And when he gets out he even finds work
17:38Good job
17:40A job at the advertising company
17:42Of Catholic Action in Rome
17:46It shows that he's a guy who has numbers.
17:48Who has some abilities
17:49Become director
17:50Godagna a salary for those times
17:52Even very high
17:54It wasn't difficult for him
17:56Luberti enjoys important support
17:58Politicians and more
18:00Politics has never forgotten her.
18:03It wasn't so much the Germans
18:05But how much his Italian comrades
18:09Who he has always remained in contact with
18:11And with which there were very strong ties
18:14And of course not very clear
18:20Luberti never stopped staying in touch
18:22With former comrades
18:23And especially with the group
18:25Which is headed by the black prince
18:27Junio Valerio Borghese
18:31Meanwhile, the former executioner of Albenga
18:33After finding a good job
18:34He sets up house
18:36He's getting married
18:37With the girl who on behalf of a work of mercy
18:40He sent letters and packages to him in prison
18:42It's called Toscana Zanelli
18:44He comes from a good family
18:46The father is a famous archaeologist
18:48The operation can be considered completed
18:51The Executioner of Albenga
18:53At least there in Rome
18:54In the mid 50s
18:55It no longer exists
18:57In his place a 35 year old man
19:00Plump and also nice
19:01With a hobby
19:02Founding a publishing house
19:04The Luberti publishing organization
19:06Which publishes books of Nazi-fascist inspiration
19:11These are strong titles
19:13The comrades
19:14Fury
19:16The contents are equally strong
19:18Anti-Semitism
19:19Racism
19:20Ethnic cleansing
19:21Glorification of murder
19:22As the most exciting
19:24Of human activities
19:28Other than the accountant Luberti
19:30The Executioner of Albenga
19:31He never died
19:32Death is all those people
19:35That a tombstone in the center
19:36Of the Ligurian town
19:37Remember again
19:45Carla Gruber is dead
19:47And probably by the same hand
19:49But how did she get in?
19:50That shy and beautiful woman
19:52In the life of the executioner of Albenga
20:02It's the spring of 1956
20:05In accountant Luberti's office
20:07A girl shows up
20:13One day you see it coming
20:16In the office this girl
20:19A girl
20:20Julian Dalmatian
20:2118 years old
20:23Beautiful
20:24That she had come to look for work
20:26Luberti immediately gives her the job
20:28But not out of pity
20:29But not out of pity
20:30Of that wonderful girl
20:31He fell in love at first sight
20:35Carla Gruber saw in Luberti
20:38A character
20:39A man who could redeem her from the unhappiness and misery in which she had lived up to that point.
20:48And give her a fuller life
20:50Happier
20:50A more comfortable life
20:52A more satisfying life, even from a sentimental point of view
20:56Affective
20:58And love relationships
21:03Aside from sex
21:04However
21:05Carla doesn't like the idea of a clandestine love affair.
21:08In 1959 she married the bartender Mario Bazzarini
21:12And he breaks off the relationship with Luberti
21:14But he doesn't give up
21:18When she marries Bazzarini
21:21Luberti knows that sooner or later she will return to where he wants her to be.
21:27Thus Luberti tries in every way to insinuate himself into the Bazzarini couple
21:32In the end, it wins
21:33And the two become lovers again
21:37But after a while
21:38Luberti's wife
21:39Tuscany Zanelli
21:40He understands the affair
21:41And puts her husband in front of the out-out
21:43It's 1964
21:51Luberti chooses Carla
21:52And so Toscana moves to Padua with her daughters
21:55Carla also makes her decision
21:58She leaves her husband
21:59And he goes to live with Luberti in Ostia
22:01Bringing along his three children
22:04Bazzarini the husband
22:05The complaint
22:06But he will be the one to pay
22:07Ending up in an asylum
22:09Bazzarini meets a somewhat strange end
22:12It is not clear why at a certain point it was decreed
22:16Who is insane, mentally ill
22:18And he ends up in a mental hospital
22:22Carla does everything Luciano says
22:24Especially in bed
22:25He dominates her in every way
22:28But he's crazy about that beautiful body
22:30Carla is his queen
22:32This strange menage lasts until 1967
22:36When something happens
22:40Luberti loses his job at the advertising agency
22:42With the neo-fascist publishing house, however
22:45He can't support his family
22:52And with Carla the passion begins to wane
22:55Completely absorbed in his political dealings
22:58Luciano neglects the woman
23:00Carla is also not well
23:02He's losing weight visibly
23:03He has a bad cough and can't read while standing up.
23:06Luciano would like to have her visited
23:08Carla objects
23:10Carla Gruber was suffering from tuberculosis
23:14Probably the beginning of the disease
23:16It dates back to his escape
23:19With parents
23:21Carla Dalmazzi
23:22The woman knows she has tuberculosis
23:25Contracted when she was a refugee
23:27But he doesn't confess it to Luciano
23:29He knows what the executioner thinks
23:31On those who are sick with tuberculosis
23:32Luberti had written one of his booklets
23:35On the social uselessness of these patients
23:37He said that all things considered
23:41The tuberculosis problem in Italy
23:43It had to be resolved in a somewhat hasty manner.
23:46The conclusion is that it had to be suppressed.
23:48Because there was a risk that he could live
23:50Even up to 70-80 years old
23:52So great cost to society
23:59But in 1968
24:00The situation is getting worse
24:02Carla is without strength
24:04So Luciano takes her to the hospital in Monte Fiascone
24:07A friend of his works there.
24:09Professor Mario Muzzolini
24:10Who visits the woman
24:12And he hospitalizes her for a month
24:15And in those 30 days
24:16Carla blossoms again
24:17Chief Muzzolini was good
24:20Too much
24:21Carla cheats on Luciano with Muzzolini
24:24There, in the head physician's office
24:26At Monte Fiascone
24:27She denies
24:28But in the end he confesses
24:33Luberti took it for granted
24:35That there had been a relationship
24:37Between Carla Gruber and this Muzzolini
24:39And this didn't seem like it.
24:40How to say
24:41Shock him too much
24:43And this is strange too
24:45If his love for Carla Gruber really
24:48If it had been that big
24:50And as sincere as he proclaimed
24:52Carla also got pregnant
24:54Of the professor
24:55Who is already married
24:56Muzzolini instead
24:57Deny with all your might
24:59Of being the father of the child
25:00Which will be born in 1969
25:03The apple of discord
25:05And the reason for a violent fight
25:09Between Luberti and Dr. Muzzolini
25:13It arises from the fact that Luberti and Carla Gruber
25:16They expected a little girl
25:19Probably born from the relationship
25:21Far Carla Gruber and Luciano Luberti
25:24If it were recognized by this doctor Muzzolini
25:27Which of course he refused to do.
25:30The baby girl was born
25:32Luberti and Carla are coming back anyway
25:34The usual menage of fake normality
25:37Everything as before then
25:39Or almost
25:41Because in January 1970
25:43A few months after the birth of her last daughter
25:46Carla shoots herself in the chest
25:48Or at least that's what Luberti claims.
25:50That after sending the older children
25:52At boarding school and the little girl at her mother's
25:54He watches over the corpse for three months
25:58Finally seal the bedroom
26:00Notify the investigators
26:01And he runs away
26:04Where is Luberti?
26:05And why would Carla have killed herself?
26:07Making all that fuss?
26:16Police continue to search for the executioner of Albenga
26:19Without result
26:21The safety net of neo-fascist friends
26:24Allows Luberti to move undisturbed
26:26Even staying close to Rome
26:32Luberti does not give up his sensational gestures
26:34Not even during his time on the run
26:36The executioner of Albenga begins to send letters
26:39Memorials to the newspapers
26:42In November 1971
26:44Arrange an interview with the weekly magazine Oggi
26:46He even has his picture taken
26:48Complete with a black hood on his head
26:50Like a medieval executioner
26:54Poor Carla supports Luberti
26:56She killed herself because she was sick
26:58And why couldn't he give his last daughter
27:00The real father's surname
27:03The executioner concludes the interview
27:05Saying he doesn't expect a murder charge
27:08Instead he is wrong
27:10In March 1972
27:12Four months after the interview
27:14The expert reports nail the executioner to his guilt
27:16He is officially accused of having killed
27:18Carla Gruber
27:22But Luberti after almost a year and a half on the run
27:24He is still at large
27:26All smooth for the executioner
27:28As long as the police
27:30He senses his presence in the Naples area
27:36We were moving in search of fugitives
27:39And we stumbled upon an area
27:41Where we were given information
27:43Of a strange presence
27:46Of an individual
27:47Who was a fugitive
27:49Perhaps very important
27:51Someone reports to the investigators
27:54That a dangerous fugitive
27:55It's hidden in Portici
27:57Near Naples
27:58In Via Palladino 6D
27:59It is not surprising that Luberti
28:02He took refuge in Portici
28:04Portici is the regional headquarters
28:06Of the National Front
28:07Borghese's political movement
28:09In which Luberti plays
28:10Porticoes
28:13During that period
28:14He was present
28:17The figure of the high Camorra
28:21First-level Camorristi
28:23In short
28:24There was also an aspect
28:26Of so-called political figures
28:29Of the political right
28:31So
28:33He may have had some contact
28:35With one or the other
28:38July 10, 1972
28:40The blitz begins
28:41Commissioner Vincenzo Perrini
28:43Four petty officers
28:44And 12 police officers
28:46They surround the building
28:50At the door
28:51We knocked
28:52And we don't have
28:53The use response
28:55After we have them
28:56Given back
28:57And we know you're in there
28:59And we know you're wanted
29:02Open
29:08Commissioner Perrini
29:10At some point
29:11He decides to give
29:12The final assault
29:16The door
29:17We failed
29:18To open it
29:20From the front
29:22And I started
29:24To men
29:25That were lying in wait
29:26In the rear area
29:27Which were to be then
29:28Coverage
29:29Something
29:30Had he tried
29:31The assault
29:31Men have succeeded
29:32To enter
29:33Breaking the glass
29:34They opened the window
29:34They arrived from behind
29:36Of Uberti
29:37That was
29:38In the other room
29:39And they ordered him
29:40To surrender
29:41Luberti has surrendered
29:45The executioner drops
29:46The two pistols
29:47Which holds
29:48And raise your hands
29:49In surrender
29:50But it also does something else
29:52Absolutely unexpected
29:54At this point
29:55When he saw himself
29:55Surrounded
29:57I didn't have
29:58I had nothing else
29:58What to say?
30:01And he started singing
30:06And he made a hymn
30:09A sentence
30:10A stanza
30:11Of a song
30:12What he left us
30:14A little dazed
30:16The song
30:17It's titled
30:18The cantata
30:19Of the legionaries
30:20And it is one
30:20Some songs
30:21Most famous
30:21Of the Black Brigades
30:22At the time of fascism
30:25Beard and long hair
30:26Luberti has changed a lot
30:28During the fugitive period
30:29Images in you
30:31The figure
30:31Of the fire food
30:32And so how
30:34You can imagine it
30:35One who
30:36He read
30:37Pinocchio
30:37He notices
30:38Rebuilds
30:40This character
30:42In the apartment
30:43The police
30:44Find weapons
30:44False documents
30:45And a suitcase
30:46Of pornographic material
30:48He says
30:49Of having
30:51Survivor
30:52Selling
30:54Pornographic magazines
30:56I think
30:57That
30:58He said
30:58A trifle
30:59Indeed
30:59We never believed
31:00To this of his
31:01To this statement of his
31:04In short
31:05So we believe
31:06That there was
31:06Some other income
31:09Yes
31:10Luberti
31:11He has other income
31:12To survive
31:13In hiding
31:14They helped him
31:15The usual friends
31:16The same ones as always
31:30The process
31:31For death
31:31By Carla Gruber
31:32It opens in Rome
31:34December 9th
31:35From 1975
31:41The man who journalists
31:43And curious
31:43They are located in front
31:44That's an understatement
31:45Unsettling
31:48Luberti was certainly
31:50A character
31:53Interesting
31:54A character
31:55Even enough
31:56Unsettling
31:57Physically
31:59It seemed
31:59A character
32:01By Michelangelo
32:01And it was
32:02Certainly impressive
32:03And it inspired
32:04A certain fear
32:05In looking at it
32:09You warned
32:11Above all
32:11One thing
32:12What is that one?
32:12That struck me
32:13Moreover
32:14As if
32:15He had
32:16In
32:17A sort of
32:19In a hurry
32:20Violent
32:21Always ready
32:22To explode
32:24Luberti
32:24He complains
32:25Continuously
32:26Of being old
32:26Full of evils
32:27Bruised
32:28Instead
32:29He's the executioner
32:29From Albenga
32:30One who during
32:31The war
32:32He killed
32:32So many people
32:33Remaining unpunished
32:34And what time?
32:35It's there
32:35For death
32:36Of his lover
32:36Occurred on January 18th
32:38From 1970
32:39But why?
32:40Would he have killed her?
32:42Why Carla
32:43He had a disease
32:44Which made it
32:44Socially useless?
32:47Or instead
32:48To put an end
32:48To his sufferings
32:49Of severe tuberculosis?
32:51Or again
32:52For the relationship
32:53Of the woman
32:54With Dr. Muzzolini?
32:57Him
32:58It was definitely
32:59In love
33:00Crazy
33:00Della Rubber
33:01He did
33:02Of this woman
33:03I repeat
33:05Beautiful
33:06He did
33:07Of this woman
33:08A sort of
33:09Of myth
33:10He made it
33:12The protagonist
33:13Of a novel
33:15Of love
33:15Who was born
33:18In part
33:19From his imagination
33:21The Gruber
33:22For him
33:22It had an importance
33:23Very great
33:24He lived for Gruber
33:25He lived for Gruber
33:27He suffered with Gruber
33:28He lived for his children
33:29Della Gruber
33:30That they were not his children
33:31And what was it about?
33:31As one's own children
33:32He would have forgiven her everything
33:34The troubles
33:35What did they do next?
33:37Brought this report
33:39To end so tragically
33:40They are born
33:41From this dimension
33:44Of unreality
33:45From this dimension
33:46Novelistic
33:50For Luberti
33:51Carla shot herself
33:52Alone
33:55Luberti's thesis
33:57Was
33:59A thesis
33:59How to say
34:01Fairly linear
34:03It's simple.
34:03Luberti
34:04He has always supported
34:05That he
34:05He didn't kill
34:06Carla Gruber
34:08But if Carla
34:10She committed suicide
34:11Why Luberti?
34:12He didn't try
34:13To help her
34:14Why didn't he call?
34:15A doctor
34:16Luciano Luberti
34:17Give an answer
34:18Worthy
34:19Of his height
34:20An answer
34:21From executioner
34:22Mr. President
34:24He wants me not to recognize
34:25A dead man
34:28As for the vigil
34:29Of the corpse
34:30Luberti explains
34:31That he had to take his time
34:32He needed
34:33To organize oneself
34:34In order not to lose
34:35The possibility
34:36To be attributed
34:37The custody
34:37Of Carla's children
34:38But not only that
34:42He said that this
34:43It was a condition
34:44Of great love
34:45So he
34:46He didn't have
34:48Consciously
34:49Wanted
34:50Acquire
34:51The idea
34:52Of death
34:52Of this woman
34:53And watching over her
34:55In a certain sense
34:56According to his interpretation
34:57It was the wait
34:59Of his resurrection
35:01And somehow
35:01Of his rebirth
35:05Luberti continues
35:06To climb
35:07On the mirrors
35:08To scream
35:08His innocence
35:09But the experts
35:11Forenzi
35:11They leave no doubts
35:12Carla
35:13It was padded
35:14Of sleeping pills
35:14At the moment
35:15Of the shot
35:15In such a
35:16State of unconsciousness
35:17He couldn't shoot himself
35:18A gunshot
35:21The reconstruction
35:23Presumable
35:24And that the woman
35:26Had he encouraged
35:27Illuminal
35:28As well as
35:28It was his custom
35:30To sleep
35:31And that during
35:33Sleep
35:34His killer
35:36hit her
35:37Exploding them
35:39On the breast
35:39This shot
35:40Of re-knife
35:45January 17th
35:47From 1976
35:48After 4 hours
35:50Of the room
35:50Of advice
35:51The court
35:52Pronounce
35:52His verdict
35:53Luciano Luberti
35:55He is sentenced
35:56At 22 years old
35:57Of imprisonment
35:58For murder
35:58Voluntary
35:59The defendant
36:00He collects in silence
36:01The words
36:02Of the judges
36:03In the process
36:04Most of the time
36:05He was absent
36:06That is, he
36:08He lived in another world
36:09Probably
36:10He didn't even hear well
36:11My line
36:13Luberti
36:14He lets himself be carried away
36:15From the Carabinieri
36:15Docile
36:16Like a little lamb
36:17But he was
36:18And it remains
36:19The Executioner
36:20From Albenga
36:20One who
36:21A massacre was carried out
36:22It's done
36:23Only seven years
36:24In prison
36:24It certainly can't
36:26Feeling willing
36:26To pass by
36:27The last years
36:28Of his life
36:28In jail
36:32Hope
36:33Luberti's hope
36:34This time
36:34It's not an amnesty
36:35As in the end
36:36Of the war
36:37But an expertise
36:38Psychiatric
36:43Why Luberti?
36:44Why is Luberti like this?
36:44Relax while reading
36:45Of the sentence
36:48What help could it do?
36:49Give him an appraisal
36:50Psychiatric
36:51Maybe he knows that outside
36:53His lifelong friends
36:53They won't let him go
36:54Not even this time
36:55And he like
36:57Reciprocate
36:58The attentions
36:58Of his friends
36:59Neo-Nazis
37:08Rome 1976
37:10The trial of Luciano Luberti
37:12For the murder of Carla Gruber
37:14It ended with a conviction
37:1522 years of imprisonment
37:17The former executioner of Albenga
37:19The man who admitted
37:20Of having killed 60 partisans
37:22He denies the murder
37:23Of his companion
37:24But for him
37:25The doors open
37:26Of the prison
37:27Yet the defense
37:28He doesn't give up
37:29There is still the appeal
37:31And there's a game to play
37:32One more card
37:33The psychiatric assessment
37:35A great card
37:36Given who will be drawing it up
37:38Psychiatrist Aldo Semerari
37:41Aldo Semerari
37:42He's a famous one
37:43Not only because
37:45He teaches psychiatry
37:46Forensics and criminology
37:47At the University of Rome
37:48It was sent
37:50Of a series of people
37:51That they were trying
37:53The way
37:53Of the judicial asylum
37:55To escape
37:56To ordinary justice
37:57It was sent
37:58Of some elements
37:59To the Magliana gang
38:00It was sent
38:01Of some elements
38:03Of the new Camorra
38:04Organized by Cutolo
38:06Or of the
38:06New family
38:08It couldn't happen
38:09Better in Luberti
38:10This is it
38:11The new gift
38:12Some friends
38:13A psychiatrist
38:14Without too many scruples
38:15And political ideas
38:17Very close
38:17On the right
38:18Subversive
38:18And neo-Nazi
38:19Professor Semerari
38:22It takes ten months
38:23To draw up an expert report
38:24A tome
38:25Of 74 folders
38:27Where Luciano Luberti
38:28It is defined
38:29As an individual
38:30Socially dangerous
38:31But affection
38:32From paranoia
38:33And therefore
38:34Not responsible
38:35Criminally
38:36In relation
38:37To the fact
38:37And at the time
38:38Some facts
38:38At first he was hostile
38:41From many sides
38:42Why
38:42It was a way
38:44According to journalists
38:45Of the time
38:46To save Luberti
38:47Luberti
38:48Executioner of Albenga
38:49Which makes use of
38:50Of the work
38:51Of a psychiatrist
38:52To avoid
38:53Of being condemned
38:55November 15th
38:571979
38:58The Assize Court
39:00And appeal from Rome
39:01Chaired
39:02By Filippo Mancuso
39:03Welcomes the expertise
39:04Seminars
39:05The former executioner
39:07He is thus acquitted
39:08Due to total insanity
39:09And transferred
39:10To the judicial asylum
39:11From Aversa
39:12To be cured
39:22Luberti
39:23Celebrate this new verdict
39:24With fellow prisoners
39:25And he's right.
39:26Why the stay
39:28In Aversa
39:28It reveals itself
39:29Less hard
39:29Than expected
39:30Inside the asylum
39:32He works
39:32Read the archives
39:33He writes
39:34He even studies
39:35The behaviors
39:36Of the patients
39:36Drawing personal
39:37Ratings
39:38It has become
39:42Scribe
39:43That is, practically
39:44That was it
39:45Who wrote
39:46The various little questions
39:48To be sent to the director
39:49Or the various questions
39:50To be sent to the magistrates
39:51For the internees
39:53That they didn't have
39:53This type of ability
39:56Luberti declares
39:57To feel
39:57Free
39:58As it has been for a long time
39:59It didn't happen
40:01Even in the period
40:02In which it was
40:03In here
40:03He presented
40:05Always
40:05A
40:07A condition
40:08Absolutely
40:09Calm
40:10And absolute
40:11Absence
40:11Of demonstrations
40:12Psychiatric type
40:13That they could do
40:14Individuate
40:15A pathology
40:15Severe psychotic
40:16Just like that one
40:17Which had been
40:18Defined
40:18In the relationship
40:20Expert
40:20Which then
40:21He had produced them
40:21The internment
40:22In OPG
40:28Luberti in short
40:29He is doing well
40:30Inside the asylum
40:31From Aversa
40:32Nevertheless
40:33August 4th
40:34From 1980
40:35The Executioner
40:36From Albenga
40:37He runs away
40:37Why?
40:39For what reason?
40:40Run away
40:40Even though it's missing
40:41Just one year
40:42In the end
40:43On rehabilitation
40:44Psychiatric?
40:45He told me
40:46Simply
40:46What had been
40:47Attracted
40:47From a condition
40:48Of freedom
40:49OR
40:50It was true
40:52This version
40:52By Luberti
40:53Okay
40:54And he went out
40:55And he remained outside
40:57Because he had
40:57Something to do
40:59This something
41:01Naturally
41:01That's just
41:02A hypothesis
41:03I believe
41:04We will never know
41:05At least I do.
41:06I will never succeed
41:06To know
41:07At least not
41:07Someone tell you
41:08What
41:09It could have been
41:13What does Luberti do?
41:15Once free?
41:16We don't know
41:21We know that
41:22On August 2nd
41:23From 1980
41:24Two days before
41:25Of the escape
41:26By Luberti
41:26There is the massacre
41:27At the station
41:28From Bologna
41:28Caused
41:29From a bomb
41:30Of matrix
41:30Neo-fascist
41:40In the months
41:41What follows
41:41The massacre
41:42They are put
41:43In progress
41:43Attempts
41:44Of misdirection
41:45What are they aiming for?
41:45To confuse
41:46The investigations
41:47On the black slope
41:48January 13, 1981
41:51They are found
41:52Weapons and explosives
41:54On a train
41:54Stopped
41:55At the station
41:55From Bologna
41:58Can Luberti
42:00To have had
42:00A part
42:01This season
42:01Of laborers
42:02Terrorist?
42:03It may have been
42:04This
42:05The commitment
42:06Which pushed
42:06The Executioner
42:07To abandon
42:07The asylum
42:08From Versa
42:11There is no evidence
42:12We don't know
42:14What we know
42:15It's that March 17th
42:17From 1981
42:18Luciano Luberti
42:19He is caught again
42:21And reported
42:21From Versa
42:22The Executioner
42:23From Albenga
42:23He will not be punished
42:24No way
42:25For his escape
42:26On the contrary
42:31June 17th
42:331981
42:34The Court of Cassation
42:35He releases
42:36Luciano Luberti
42:37Because perfectly healed
42:39Not only
42:40The European Commission
42:42For human rights
42:43He accepted his appeal
42:44Against internment
42:45In the asylum
42:46Beyond the expected time
42:47The High Court
42:48Condemns Italy
42:49To compensate
42:50To the former Executioner
42:50From Albenga
42:51Even a million
42:52Of lire
42:53Healed
42:54Free
42:54And compensated
42:55The Executioner
42:56From Albenga
42:56He's going to live
42:57In Padua
43:02He is in Padua
43:05AND
43:05I say well
43:07Almost
43:07It would almost be the case
43:08To hear it
43:10So what?
43:12I looked for it
43:13In the telephone directory
43:14With no hope
43:16And he was there
43:17There was a name
43:18Surname
43:18Number
43:19And I went
43:20And I found it
43:21That was coming out
43:22It looked like this
43:24Incredible
43:24And it got me thinking
43:26At the battery
43:28Of the Account of Monte Cristo
43:29Why did he have this beard?
43:31Very long
43:31So far
43:32A hat
43:36And I tell him
43:38Who I am
43:38And then he lets me in
43:40Then after a while
43:41I tell him
43:42But listen
43:43I have to tell him something
43:44She knows he killed
43:45My cousin
43:45And no
43:47I do not know
43:47He says
43:47What was his name?
43:50Simone Sildo
43:51I don't remember it
43:52I am sorry
43:53I am sorry
43:55Truly
43:55In Padua
43:57Luciano Luberti
43:58Even though I have
43:59Over 60 years old
44:00He signs up
44:01At the university
44:01Where it succeeds
44:02Even
44:03To graduate
44:03In political science
44:04With the famous sociologist
44:06Sabino Acquaviva
44:07Thesis topic
44:08Criminal asylums
44:10He came
44:11This gentleman
44:12With a beard
44:13With air
44:15Very serious
44:16And he told me
44:16I would like to write a thesis
44:18Alright
44:19I said it
44:19One of many
44:21No
44:21It's not one of the many
44:22He told me
44:23Why
44:23It's a thesis
44:24On the asylum
44:25Criminal
44:26Why choose
44:26The asylum
44:27Criminal
44:28Why I was there
44:29He had this look
44:31When I grow up
44:32Where the man
44:33He was always talking
44:34In a serious manner
44:35AND
44:36Contained
44:37And with
44:38As if he had
44:39A
44:40Great satisfaction
44:41Of his life
44:45That ferocious past
44:47In short
44:47It surfaces throughout
44:49His brutality
44:49Clarity
44:50The Executioner of Albenga
44:52He has no more secrets
44:53Luciano Luberti
44:54Instead yes
44:55At least one
44:57Never really
44:58Clarified
44:58Why did he kill?
45:00Carla Gruber
45:01January 18th
45:021970
45:03Out of jealousy
45:05Because she was sick
45:06Really
45:08It had nothing to do with it
45:09Political activity
45:10By Luberti
45:10In my opinion
45:12Luberti
45:13It has always been
45:13Somehow
45:17A character
45:18Of the armed right
45:21You have to queue
45:23A series of dates
45:24December 12, 1969
45:26A bomb explodes
45:29At the headquarters
45:29Of the National Bank
45:30Of Agriculture
45:31In Milan
45:31In Piazza Fontana
45:3316 people die
45:36December 25, 1969
45:38Armando Calzolari
45:40Prominent exponent
45:42Of the National Front
45:43By Junio Valerio Borghese
45:44He was killed in Rome
45:46Under mysterious circumstances
45:47It is found
45:48Nedia's death
45:50Because he had fallen
45:51In a well
45:54To collect
45:56His little dog
45:57It's a pity that this well
45:59Is
45:59High
46:01Deep
46:02One and a half meters
46:02And if there were
46:0380 centimeters of water
46:05The hypothesis
46:06It's that Calzolari
46:07It has been eliminated
46:08Because he knew too much
46:09On the massacre
46:10Of Piazza Fontana
46:11At the time of death
46:13Shoemakers
46:14He was treasurer
46:15Of the National Front
46:16Calzolari's mother
46:18He accuses openly
46:19Of the murder
46:20A person
46:21Which he shared
46:22With his son
46:22The role of treasurer
46:23It's Luciano Luberti
46:26The only person
46:28Which he supported
46:29Who had been killed
46:30From Luberti
46:31She is the mother
46:31But the thing
46:33It got stuck in the sand
46:33I am convinced
46:35That he killed
46:36Armando Calzolari
46:37That
46:38He had understood
46:40That his comrades
46:41They were the real culprits
46:43Of the massacre
46:43Of Piazza Fontana
46:44And he accused them
46:46Of having done
46:47A massacre
46:48Orreda
46:49And probably
46:50Even politically
46:51Not
46:52Not
46:53Non-productive
46:55To recap
46:56December 12th
46:581969
46:59Massacre
47:00Of Piazza Fontana
47:01December 25th
47:03Death
47:04By Calzolari
47:05And what
47:06And what happens?
47:07January 18th
47:081970
47:09Not even a month later
47:13Karl Gruber
47:15She is killed
47:16In the attic
47:16From Pallavicini Street
47:17And if even
47:18The Gruber
47:19Had she been killed
47:20Why had she come?
47:21Aware
47:21Of uncomfortable truths
47:22And if the long one
47:24Wake
47:25By Luberti
47:25Had it not been
47:26What a solemn
47:27Staging
47:28To mislead
47:29Preventively
47:29The investigations
47:30On the real reasons
47:31That they had brought him
47:32To eliminate
47:33Karl Gruber
47:34Question marks
47:36Destined
47:37To remain so
47:38Of course
47:39There is only
47:40That Luciano Luberti
47:41He dies at 81
47:42In December 2002
47:43In Padua
47:44He was hit
47:46From 8 tumors
47:47The question is
47:49If he ever stopped
47:50To be
47:50A soldier
47:51Nazi
47:52No?
47:53I never stopped
47:55Still
47:56In interviews
47:58That I did to him
47:59By phone
48:01After
48:01He pronounces
48:03The word
48:04Pflicht
48:04That in German
48:06It means
48:06Duty
48:07Pflicht
48:10And the motivation
48:12Of his actions
48:13The sense of duty
48:15In comparison
48:16Of the Third Reich
48:31The sense of duty
48:32The sense of duty
48:33The sense of duty
49:02The sense of duty
49:03The sense of duty
49:04The sense of duty
49:06The sense of duty
49:07The sense of duty
49:07The sense of duty
49:08The sense of duty
49:08The sense of duty
49:09The sense of duty
49:10The sense of duty
49:10Thank you all.
