00:00All right, let's go to the make-or-right call.
00:02That sounds really good.
00:03Call Kyle Wright Hotline.
00:06How old's Mason?
00:08Two.
00:08I've got to get him in before he understands that.
00:12Let's go and make-or-right call Kyle Wright Hotline.
00:14Hello, Mary Kay.
00:17Hello, guys.
00:17How are you doing?
00:18Been better.
00:19Mary Kay lives a stone's throw away from one of the great metroparks,
00:24great resource we have in Northeast Ohio.
00:25Mary Kay, if you were going to get rid of Burke Lakefront Airport,
00:27what are you going to put there?
00:30Oh, wow.
00:31I would probably put a mixed-use development there with plenty of accommodations
00:40with lake views.
00:41I would probably put some shopping and dining there.
00:45Green space?
00:46I would also put some green space there,
00:50and it would be an absolute entertainment mecca.
00:56It would be a place to be.
00:57It would be hopping.
00:58It would draw young people to Cleveland.
01:00Mel Torme would be there on first night.
01:03All right, Mary Kay.
01:03Are you running for office, Mary Kay?
01:05That sounded like a very polished answer.
01:08That sounds really good.
01:11Sure.
01:12Mary Kay, you said something earlier this week,
01:14and I nearly drove off the road.
01:16Could they actually trade up for number six?
01:21Well, it was on the table as of the owners' meetings.
01:25He did not rule that out.
01:26And remember, last year, he did pretty much rule that out as we went through the draft process.
01:31So I am kind of curious to hear today if he says it's unlikely like he did last year.
01:37He hasn't said that yet.
01:39He's left it on the table.
01:40And as I think about it, I keep trying to think, who would be worth trading up for if he
01:46were to do that?
01:47And the only thing I can really come up with would be one of the edge rushers,
01:52if they really deem someone to be sort of the heir apparent to Miles Garrett,
01:57or, drum roll please, or Jeremiah Love.
02:02I mean, what if they love, love enough to make some kind of a move up for him?
02:07I have no idea yet if they feel that way about him or feel that strongly about him.
02:13But he just is one of those generational players in this draft, and there are not many of them.
02:20Well, Mary Kay, that brings us to the age-old question always when it comes to the NFL draft
02:24about best player available.
02:26Now, it is interesting that in this draft, it does seem like a lot of the pundits
02:30don't see a huge gap between a lot of these players.
02:34But when they start comparing Jeremiah Love to, say, Marshall Falk,
02:38I mean, that gets people's attention.
02:41Well, I've talked to people about Jeremiah Love,
02:45and I had someone say this week to me that he could be the best prospect he's ever scouted pre
02:53-draft.
02:53So, that's the kind of way people are talking about him.
02:56Now, people did talk about Travis Hunter that way last year as well.
03:01So, you know, I mean, you really have to do your due diligence and all of that.
03:05But the way people are describing him, maybe he would be worth that.
03:11Again, I don't know.
03:12They love Quinch on Judkins.
03:13They love Dylan Sampson.
03:15I know they feel like they're pretty well set there right now.
03:18But once again, Andrew doesn't draft for needs.
03:20So, if he's there, and I don't even think he's going to be there at number six.
03:24So, I actually do think that he's somebody that you probably would have to move up a few spaces for
03:29if you really wanted him.
03:30Who was that again you're mentioning?
03:34We're talking about Jeremiah Love.
03:35Oh, Jeremiah Love.
03:36Okay.
03:36Because for a second I was – so, what do you think is the most – as of a week
03:41to go,
03:43what do you think is the most likely of their moves to do?
03:46Stay, move up, or trade down?
03:50I would say trade down.
03:52I think when you have all of these people discussing and projecting and predicting this trade with the Cowboys,
03:58I think that's more than just hearsay and rumor.
04:02There's got to be something probably coming out of Dallas that suggests that they're talking about this.
04:09I think that they probably don't play it as close to the vest there as the Browns do at this
04:15time of year.
04:16I mean, the Browns, they really lock it down.
04:18I mean, they really, really lock it down.
04:20They knew for months that they wanted to draft Dylan Gabriel last year.
04:24They knew for months or at least a month before that they were making that trade down with the Jaguars.
04:32And they just didn't let on at all.
04:36So, I think it's probably – if this is true, it's probably coming out of Dallas.
04:42And everybody seems to think that they would want funny styles there, the Cowboys.
04:46So, there just could be something to it.
04:48And I wouldn't be shocked if that happens on Thursday night.
04:52So, if the Browns were to move down to, I think, 12 is where the Cowboys draft,
04:57what changes about who they could possibly take?
04:59Because I imagine then, Carnell Tate's off the board, all the usual suspects that we've been talking about here
05:04for the past few months would be off the board.
05:07Do you think that they would then turn it into an offensive line draft?
05:11Well, it could.
05:13I mean, I think that really does put Caden Proctor in play there at No. 12.
05:19Maybe it really puts Monroe Freeling more so in play there at No. 12 and some of the others.
05:24So, a few of those guys will be gone by then.
05:27But they could probably really get their hands on a great tackle at that spot.
05:32And also, I would think, a really, really good receiver.
05:35Could they get a first-rounder in 2027 back from Dallas?
05:39I think that would be hard.
05:41But some people have proposed that they would end up getting this year's 12 and 20 from Dallas.
05:47And I just think that that would be a tough thing to get out of the Cowboys.
05:51And I also think three first-round picks this year, that's not what they really need.
05:56I think that they would need to add premium draft capital for next year to be poised to take a
06:02quarterback in the event that they need one.
06:04So, I just don't know if it's that useful for you to end up with 12, 20, and 24 this
06:11year.
06:11Because I do think that there's probably a significant drop-off when you get to the second half of this
06:17draft in the first round.
06:18You sound like Eric DaCosta.
06:19That's what he just said with the Baltimore Ravens.
06:21Mary Kay Cabot joining us right now.
06:23So, I'm curious about this.
06:24And it might be hard for you to answer because it hasn't happened yet.
06:27But I'm always curious about how this works in different organizations.
06:31How much of a seat at the table is Todd Munkin going to have in this draft?
06:35And is it going to be the exact same seat that, say, Kevin Stefanski had?
06:40Well, I'm sure Kevin Stefanski's seat probably evolved over the years as the communication between him and Andrew Berry deepened.
06:49And Andrew knew more about what the staff wanted and those kinds of things.
06:52So, I do think that Todd will have a seat at the table.
06:55He already has a seat at the table.
06:57But it's not to some great extent where he's going to be able to dictate who their first pick is
07:03or who they're taking in the first round of the draft.
07:06He's going to have a say in the matter.
07:08And the personnel staff will try to shade whoever they draft to the schemes that Todd and Mike Grudenberg and
07:17Storr are running.
07:20But, you know, he's not going to be standing on the table for somebody and they're going to go with
07:24exactly what Todd wants.
07:25That's not how this will work.
07:27Mary Kay Cabot joining us on the show.
07:29All right.
07:29Are there any players that they could possibly trade away between today and next Thursday that the Browns already have
07:35on their roster?
07:37You know, it's a good question.
07:38It's a really good question.
07:39And I know the Miles Garrett rumors persist.
07:42They persist.
07:43But right now in this moment, I still buy into what Andrew Berry told us at the NFL owners meetings.
07:50And that was that Miles Garrett is a career Brown.
07:53So, at this moment, I'm not feeling that.
07:55But once again, sometimes things don't really heat up until you get on the clock or you get close to
08:02being on the clock on draft night.
08:04And what if somebody makes them an offer they absolutely can't refuse?
08:07So, you can never say never.
08:10But I'm still abiding by what he told us at the owners meetings and that he has no plans to
08:15do that and they're pretty adamant about that.
08:17If that changes, then something drastically has changed in the trade landscape from the owners meetings to draft night.
08:25And then, you know, I asked about Denzel at the owners meetings as well.
08:30And it was basically the same answer.
08:32And that was, we have our core players.
08:34We want to keep these guys intact.
08:36We are trying to build the offense to match the caliber of the defense.
08:40And we don't want to go trading away some of our best players.
08:43I got to go on a fish and expedition here.
08:45Can you get a first rounder next year for pick 24 from somebody?
08:53I, no.
08:54Well, I'm just trying to think about how to get another first rounder in 2027 without trading away miles, Garrett.
09:00I doubt it, too.
09:01You usually take a discount when you trade into future years.
09:06But everybody wants a piece of that 2027 draft because of the quarterback class that it's expected to be.
09:13Now, not everybody is going to need a quarterback.
09:15There are plenty of teams that won't be in that position.
09:17But there are a lot of teams that want to keep their options open for 2027.
09:22I think it will be very difficult to get a first round pick for 24.
09:26Can I ask a great, well, you know what?
09:28No, I want to ask that question to Lima after we talk to Mary Kay Cabot.
09:30Go ahead, Mary.
09:31Go ahead, Tone.
09:32Ask Mary Kay.
09:33Cardinal Tate, you know, we've wondered if it's just as easy as, hey, if he's there at number six, the
09:38Browns are just going to take him.
09:39They need a wide receiver.
09:40And in this draft, you could do far worse than just taking a guy like Tate, who is obviously someone
09:48that our fan base is extremely familiar with because of the Ohio State ties.
09:54Do you have any right now thought on, is it just as easy as if Tate's there, they're going to
09:59take him?
10:00Well, I wouldn't hate that.
10:01I wouldn't hate that pick at all because in my mind, what this team needs more than anything is to
10:07get in the end zone and to score touchdowns and to have weapons.
10:10And I think they need two really good offensive weapons, maybe more, but they need at least two really good
10:16dynamic weapons out of the rest of the acquisition season.
10:19That could come via the draft.
10:21It could come via trade, free agency, whatever the case may be, but they need to upgrade their weapons game
10:29in a huge way.
10:30And so I would not hate the Cardinal Tate pick at all at number six.
10:35And maybe it is just that simple.
10:37I actually would take the receiver there before I would take the offensive tackle.
10:43But I don't know how their board will shape up.
10:46And it also depends on where they're picking.
10:48But if I'm staying at six, I would not hate that pick at all because I still think that you
10:54can come back and get a really good tackle.
10:57Maybe you move up from number 24, if you possibly could do that, to still grab one of the best
11:03offensive tackles.
11:04But they like a number of them, so they might be safe in doing it that way.
11:07Mary Kay Cabot with us on the show.
11:12What's Joel Batonio going to do?
11:15I forgot about him.
11:16I know.
11:16Well, thank you, because I had a brain fart there for a second, and then I had to remember who
11:20the hell I was talking about.
11:21Go ahead, Mary Kay.
11:23Well, I think that the longer it goes, it seems to me that he's probably just waiting to make an
11:30announcement that he's ready to kind of hang it up.
11:33But we can't say that for sure.
11:34He's in some kind of a process, and we don't know what it is.
11:37And the Browns are giving him all the time that he needs, and maybe they know something that we don't.
11:41So maybe he's waiting to see what they do in the draft.
11:44Maybe he's waiting to see who the starting quarterback is going to be.
11:47I really don't know what his process is.
11:50But in my mind, the longer it goes, the less likely it is in my mind that he's going to
11:55be a Cleveland Brown this year.
11:56Mary Kay, we thank you so much for the time.
11:59All the best.
12:00We'll talk to you next Thursday, night one of the 2026 NFL Draft.
12:05Thank you, guys.
12:06Mary Kay Cabin on the Make It Right Call Kyle Wright Hotline.
12:09Can I ask?
12:12If I ask a simple question, are you going to come after me for it?
12:15I won't, no.
12:16All right, because I'm trying to figure out a way to get a first-round pick in 2027.
12:20I want two first-round picks in 2027.
12:22I don't want to trade away you-know-who.
12:25I don't want to do that.
12:26The season will be dead in the water.
12:28I think Todd will be dead in the water.
12:29I think that Andrew Barry will be dead in the water.
12:31I'm trying to figure out a way to get a 2027 first-round pick without trading away you-know-who.
