It's the place where some of the future athletic stars are born.

That place is the annual Rotary Club of Port of Spain District Games.

Which will take place next Tuesday.

00:00This is the 34th edition of the Games for Primary Schools in Portis, Spain and Envirens,
00:05which will take place at Goodwill Industries on Fitzblattman Drive in Woodbrook.
00:09And former club president Anthony Andrews explained why the district games is essential to the club.
00:14The Rotary Game holds a special place in the heart of our club
00:18because we strongly believe in youth development through sport.
00:22Young people are able to build discipline, confidence, teamwork,
00:27and a competitive spirit that helps prepare them for the challenges of everyday life.
00:33And while the games are for primary school athletes in Portis, Spain and Envirens,
00:37it was still credited for its contribution to national sporting development.
00:41We would have recently seen and experienced success at the recently concluded Carifta Games.
00:48And it's no doubt because of games like these and through the efforts of Rotary Club
00:55would have contributed significantly to this success,
01:00as well to our success at the Olympics and other international competition.
01:06And N3's representative Kesten Nanku is guaranteeing the games will deliver more stars.
01:12The last one like that is Michel Liahi, who just two years ago won the Pan Am Games gold medal.
01:24And this is something that we consistently do.
01:29Every year, we put a new athlete on the scene.
