00:00Well, let's kick things off with Operation Epic Fury.
00:03U.S. negotiators are likely leaving Pakistan without a deal after marathon talks with Iran came up empty.
00:09But the Trump administration is ready to move forward whether there's a deal or not.
00:14Yes, we are moving forward whether it's deal or not.
00:18U.S. talks with Iran end with no peace deal.
00:21We've had a number of substantive discussions with the Iranians.
00:24That's the good news.
00:25The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement.
00:28And I think that's bad news for Iran much more than it's bad news for the United States of America.
00:32So we go back to the United States having not come to an agreement.
00:36We win regardless.
00:38We've defeated them militarily.
00:39Whether we make a deal or not makes no difference to me.
00:43Chief Foreign Correspondent Trey Yinks joins us now from Tel Aviv.
00:47Tel Aviv, Israel.
00:48He is from Israel, Tel Aviv.
00:50U.S. talks with Iran end with no peace deal.
00:53This is here.
00:54The latest.
00:55Good morning, Trey.
00:56Morning.
00:57Yeah, hey guys.
00:58Good morning.
00:59After 21 hours of talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, there is no deal with Iran.
01:04Vice President J.D. Vance was joined by Special Envoys Witkoff and Kushner and said this about the talks.
01:10Okay.
01:11The simple fact is that we need to see an affirmative commitment that they will not seek a nuclear weapon.
01:18Never.
01:18They will not seek the tools that would enable them to quickly achieve a nuclear weapon.
01:22That is the core goal of the President of the United States and that's what we've tried to achieve through
01:26these negotiations.
01:28Okay, okay.
01:29Reports indicate there are still gaps on the issues of uranium enrichment, control of the Strait of Hormuz and the
01:34release of frozen Iranian assets.
01:36There are now questions about what comes next amid an ongoing U.S. military build-up across the Middle East
01:41that includes more transport planes landing here each day.
01:45President Trump spoke over the weekend about the...
01:46Representative says, U.S. and Iran can't agree on uranium enrichment, control of the Strait of Hormuz and the release
01:54of assets.
01:56Listen to Trump.
01:57Let me just tell you, we win, no matter what, we've defeated their military, they have no navy, 158 ships
02:05are underwater, undersea, all of their minesweepers and all of their, they call them mine droppers.
02:11Can you imagine, a country has 28 mine droppers, you think that's nice?
02:17With all of that being said, they're all defeated, by the way, they're all at the bottom of the E
02:21.C.
02:22As the talks were ongoing in Islamabad, Israel and Hezbollah continue to trade blows with Hezbollah launching drones and rockets
02:29into northern Israel.
02:31This is what happening, Hezbollah hits northern Israel with drones and rockets.
02:37Proxy of Iran
03:13Okay, okay, all right.
03:14Direct talks are set to take place this week between Israel and Lebanon in Washington, D.C.
03:19These talks will stay for now at the ambassador level, guys.
03:23And Trey, you've been talking to regional sources. What is their response to Iran talks?
03:28Okay.
03:29Yeah, Griff, regional sources tell me the Iranians made a mistake at the negotiating table in thinking that the Americans
03:35would take a deal at any cost, acting like Iran had won the war.
03:39What they didn't note was that their economy is at the weakest point that it's been in decades.
03:44And regional sources tell me the new assessment is that the economic damage to the Iranian regime greatly exceeds...
03:50This is what really happens.
03:52Iran thought, U.S. is going to make a deal at any cost, any cost.
03:57But no, we are not that low level.
04:00...needs the pre-war estimates by the intelligence community across the Middle East.
04:04And I asked by how much.
04:05And one source told me it's impossible to know exactly what we're talking about billions of dollars to the Iranians
04:11economy.
04:11And it's important here because the Iranians believe that they have leverage in the Strait of Hormuz.
04:16And a source described this to me as they are holding the Strait hostage with a rope.
04:20But it's not actually a rope.
04:22It's a thread.
04:22And the real issue for the Iranians is their economy that, again, is so weak that they are focusing just
04:29on the only thing they have left.
04:30And this is the economic sector as it relates to their energy program.
04:35And if that is taken out, the Iranians will lose...
04:37Okay, representative said, U.S. and Iran at odds.
04:41Over Hormuz, uranium enrichment, frozen assets.
04:45...all leverage and ability to even come to the negotiating table, understanding that the Americans hold the cards here.
04:51They, along with the Israelis have...
04:53Yes, Americans hold the card and this is the main thing.
04:56...the Iranian regime, the leadership, the production lines, and many of the launching positions.
05:00...for these ballistic missiles that have targeted countries across the...
05:02Oh, damn. Look at this.
05:05Two U.S. warships sailed through Strait of Hormuz we have right now.
05:09This is what it is.
05:11...the Middle East.
05:11And again, they are focusing on their energy sector.
05:14And if that is targeted, the Iranians will be even weaker.
05:17And they're in a place right now that some sources have described as an economic downward spiral.
05:22Okay, economic downward spiral.
05:24This is what we are saying.
05:26So, we saw a couple of U.S. warships pass through the Strait yesterday.
05:30And then President Trump is talking about beginning the effort to clear the Strait of Hormuz.
05:37Is this something that we believe might actually come to fruition in a matter of days or weeks?
05:44I think, I think U.S. is doing that only.
05:48U.S. is getting mines out from the Strait of Hormuz.
05:50It is international water waves.
05:52So, it's hard to know.
05:55But yesterday, U.S. Central Command said that two U.S. destroyers went through the Strait of Hormuz.
06:00Okay.
06:01And they announced this as the beginning of a mine clearing operation.
06:04Now, regional sources tell us those vessels were threatened by the Iranians.
06:07But of course, this is a very perilous area next to the Persian Gulf.
06:12In an area where the Iranians have threatened not just U.S. warships,
06:15but also the shipping vessels that carry cargo and oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
06:20Everyone, not only military ships, all the cargo ships and everyone's.
06:24Around 20% of the world's oil.
06:26And so, again, the Iranians are trying to use this chokehold at the negotiating table
06:30because they think that they have an average.
06:32I am told by sources in the region that this can be addressed.
06:35The Strait can be opened.
06:37There are solutions.
06:38This is international water waves.
06:39No one can have ability to do this kind of thing.
06:43But there are not solutions for Iran's economy.
06:45And that is really the focus for the region right now.
06:47Right.
06:47As there are questions about if the United States and Israel are about to return to a state of war.
06:53Trey Yengst, thank you so much.
06:55Great reporting.
06:56Good stuff.
06:56Thanks, Trey.
06:57It is what it is, guys.
