A disturbing case of animal cruelty has been reported from Avarehalli in Bengaluru, where a man allegedly assaulted his neighbour’s pet dog following a minor dispute.

According to reports, the incident occurred on the evening of April 11 when a pet dog named Scooby, owned by Anjinappa, barked at a neighbour’s wife.

Angered by the incident, her husband, identified as Gopi, allegedly went to the owner’s residence later that night. Finding the dog tied near the gate, he reportedly attacked it repeatedly with a stick, leaving the animal unconscious.

The injured dog was immediately rushed to a veterinary hospital, where it received timely treatment. Scooby is now reported to be out of danger.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage, which has since surfaced and drawn strong reactions.

A complaint has been filed at the Madanayakanahalli Police Station, and police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
