43:27this is an owl
43:29it's a crested owl
43:33that's right
43:35comes from south america
43:40i think he's a pretty wise old owl
43:48there are a lot of things that are kind of interesting about owls
43:51one thing that
43:53they're one of the only birds that
43:55that have their two eyes
43:57on the front of their face
44:00see how they're right on the front
44:02most birds that you know about maybe pigeons and sparrows and
44:05most birds that you've seen
44:07have one eye on each side
44:09but he has both eyes right in the front
44:15now he doesn't see as well during the daytime
44:19he does see in the daytime but not as well
44:22as he does in the early evening at dusk
44:26and in the early morning at dawn
44:29he sees best of all about that time of the day
44:35but at nighttime he sees very very well and that's when he goes out
44:38and hunts for his food like mice and little insects
44:43and he's a great help to the farmer because
44:45he eats up some of these things that
44:48that could eat the farmer's crops
44:56he doesn't have much to say right now
45:00he's just sitting there being wise
45:04right albert
45:07one of the things on the on on the end of their wings
45:11they have very soft downy feathers like a little baby chicken
45:15and the reason for that is that when they swoop down
45:20to catch their food like mice or insects
45:24it makes their wings very very quiet
45:27so that they're the mice and bugs can't hear them coming
45:33eagles and birds like that make make a big flapping sound
45:37but they're very very quiet
45:44hey i forgot to ask you bird owl bird have you ever heard or seen buddy and jim
45:53hey jim hello buddy guess what i got what do you have i got another ironing wood
45:59i think this one is better than the old one good boy that's wonderful bring it in
46:11oh jim we in trouble it's too big to get through the door i tried to get it through the

53:31He was ashamed to tell his parents and his family what happened.
53:34And he got down in the bowl.
53:36Big bed bowl.
53:37Went to sleep.
53:39Hmm.
53:39Cried his eyes out.
53:41Because the kids out there, they didn't know any better.
53:43But he got so hung up.
53:45Man, he just felt terrible.
53:47But one day.
53:48One day.
53:49Father was over at the big giant coffee cup.
53:51Standing there.
53:53With a lot of heavy work to do.
53:54Needed some big grains of sugar.
53:56And he needed it quickly.
53:57Needed a lot of them.
53:58And he called on his son.
54:00Said, Son.
54:01And son said, I'm right here, Dad.
54:03You sure did get here quick.
54:04Said, yes, I did.
54:05Now, what would you like me to do, Daddy?
54:07I'd like you to go over there and get me some big grains of sugar.
54:10A whole lot of them.
54:11So he said, lay here, Daddy.
54:12Be right back.
54:13And he took over.
54:14And he went over there.
54:15And he tried to get some grains of sugar.
54:17But for some reason, he couldn't get as many as he wanted.
54:20And he came back over.
54:21And he just dropped a few grains in the cup.
54:24A giant coffee cup.
54:26Father said, Son.
54:27I like you.
54:29But you didn't bring me enough sugar.
54:31So you have to make it back to bed.
54:33Kid went back to bed.
54:34Daughter.
54:35Called the daughter.
54:36Yes, Daddy.
54:37Daughter, listen.
54:38I need some grains of sugar immediately.
54:40I don't want to fool around.
54:42I need them right now.
54:43I need a lot of them.
54:44Don't worry, Daddy.
54:44I'll get them for you.
54:45And she took off.
54:46Swung around the bowl of sugar.
54:47Jumped up one time.
54:49Dove down in.
54:50Came up.
54:51Very little grains.
54:52Went down again.
54:53Didn't make it that time.

54:56Came back with her head hanging down.
54:58Said, Daddy.

55:00And I hope you do.
55:01Because I didn't bring any sugar.
55:02And Father said, Daughter.
55:04You can't make it either.
55:06Go back to bed.
55:07Sorry.
55:08I said, I love my son.
55:09I love my daughter.
55:10But I can't get any sugar out of him.
55:12All of a sudden.
55:13Up out of his bowl bed.
55:16Came roundy.
55:17And roundy came over and said, Dad.
55:20Excuse me.
55:21But I know that you want some sugar.
55:24And you want it immediately.
55:25And I think I can make it.
55:26Said, Son.

55:30And he took off.
55:31And he dug down in deep.

55:38And Dad was so proud when he saw that.
