00:00I think it's been interesting watching it's funny I think watching the reaction to Miles Garrett
00:07voluntary OTAs which you and I we stand somewhere in the middle on which is there are like Ken
00:12Carmen on Wednesday I went completely to the the side of uh I wasn't here and he went to the
00:17other
00:17side no I need I went to the side if he needed to be here yeah yeah I'm not making
00:22it a great
00:22deal that was the main point on that I think that's what we stayed with on Tuesday neither
00:25one of us are making it a great deal but after Munkin made his comments clearly that was that
00:32Munkin was pissed about it but there's no other way to look at it so it's interesting that we're
00:36having this conversation because a lot of whether it was Munkin's comments or Miles just no-showing
00:41I understand that some people just want to disqualify it as a nope we have this conversation
00:48every year why are we doing this I do understand that I also understand just being annoyed by the
00:52topic because it was about 25 percent of last offseason but given that they for no reason
00:58that actually benefits you this year they did redo a contract which Miles had to agree with
01:06because you did not give Miles a head coach he wanted and the the rumor out there is that he
01:12still
01:12has not met Todd Munkin that seems significant like there's a lot of there's a lot of little things
01:18that if I can understand if you look at it and it adds up to hey maybe Miles is a
01:23short timer here
01:24I think Andrew Barry went so hard in the paint at the owners meetings that if you turned around
01:30and traded him June 2nd you would look like an absolute clown and I know that the Browns don't
01:37always care about that this would be one that you should care about there's a difference between doing
01:42this to snidely whiplash and doing it to Miles freaking Garrett sure but if the response there
01:48is oh I guess the media just won't take anything I say as gospel anymore it's like well isn't that
01:52already how we treat Andrew Barry to begin with um yeah I mean I think that's how we treat most
01:56people with the Browns so like like no so but like the idea being that I don't I don't think
02:00he has to worry about his comments about calling Miles Garrett a career Brown or whatever that is
02:04like that's not from you and me but from the Browns fans this next year if if you trade Miles
02:09after
02:09saying he's a career Brown you trade him June 2nd and this team stinks to high hell it doesn't
02:14matter what you get there are going to be people furious at you and calling you a liar that would
02:18have happened regardless of whether or not he lied a month ago or two months ago like the why the
02:22why part of that it's an amplifying effect because I certainly do no I really don't I feel like I
02:26feel
02:26when it comes to Andrew Barry I feel like no one takes him at his word anyway as is and
02:30when he and
02:31when half the people when he makes that comment don't believe him to begin with anyway I don't think
02:34people are sitting there being like oh I my 95 jersey's sacred because Andrew Barry said that it is I
02:39just
02:39don't I don't buy that speaking of sacred things there's nothing more sacred apparently than Ken
02:44or Anthony's uh texts so we have another instance of somebody getting texts and it becoming treated as
02:52a fact or something else I don't know what's less reliable Anthony Lima reports or Ken Carmen texts but
02:59I'm here to bring them both up should I text you something right now and then you can just be
03:02like I
03:02got a text I should text you right now Miles Garrett uh will be uh not on the Cleveland Browns
03:08next year
03:08and then you can say you can say I just got a text I'm getting text it is true can't
03:12say from who
03:13yeah you may call this guy an insider you may not I don't know that's up to you but like
03:18someone
03:18close to the team in some respects has texted me and here we go and this is somebody who would
03:23know
03:24potentially potentially that this you always got to add like an amplifier we can't we can't confirm
03:28whether or not he's talking to anybody but like maybe maybe sometimes he does now maybe Ken to
03:32the here's Ken from this morning oh Mac's a team employee Mac you want to start texting us and we
03:37can say
03:37that's true employees have been texting us all sorts of information we won't out you on it we'll
03:41just we'll continue like your team employee yeah you're our deep throat not a team employee not a
03:46okay take it easy there uh not it's a Watergate reference you know learn history yeah coming coming
03:52from you yeah okay phrasing uh here's Ken from this morning talking about oh those darn taxis
04:04I had somebody who sent me something this morning and Owen got my attention about it where it's like
04:11man you might look real foolish yelling about not talking about this whole mile stuff here coming up
04:16in the next couple weeks and I got I got a little bit nervous about it all right so did
04:21Owen read his
04:22text first there I'm a little actually lost because I thought Lima had gotten the text can we run it
04:28back
04:28one more time I had somebody who sent me something this morning and Owen got my attention about it
04:35where it's like man you might look real foolish yelling about not talking about this whole mile
04:40stuff here coming up in the next couple weeks and I got I got a little bit nervous about it
04:44all right
04:44there is confused too there is I'm sorry there's a little Yosemite Sam in the middle of that we've got
04:50anyways uh yeah I don't want to bog it down the idea is is that I kind of do yeah
04:55it's fun shots at
04:56Ken well no but I'm worried we're then falling into the thing of like uh we both listened to the
05:00segment but we don't I don't have great recall on exactly what happened there well no I just think
05:04we've clipped that in a way because he says the Lima thing first yeah and Ken also in fairness
05:09no matter how you clip it Ken brought it up in a very confusing way okay but to get to
05:15the heart of
05:16this I guess we'll start with it how serious do we buy into the miles trade rumors I think they're
05:21serious uh I there was a level of disdain that Munkin had in that press conference in trying to
05:26convey to everybody the idea that like it's voluntary I can't make him be here but also uh
05:31speaking to how much value comes from being there and uh you could tell Munkin took that
05:38I'm not gonna say personally but if I was Munkin I would have taken that personally the idea that he
05:42didn't want to be there and that Miles is sending some sort of message by not being there all right
05:46if the Browns have decided as part of Miles reaction to Munkin getting hired and maybe
05:53Munkin is now offended that they would would like to no longer be in the Miles Garrett business
05:58probably would I'm all in on Munkin right now might have to be considerably out on Munkin because
06:05I I it's it's not you can't really do anything about the fact that Miles has been given it's too
06:12late in the game to change who Miles is when I when I'm talking about is like the leeway that
06:16he's been given no but what you can't try and pull in the reins right now totally get that uh
06:20but I think for Munkin I there to me it felt like Munkin was taking it personally and I understand
06:25why
06:25like Miles if he had shown up it would have been that endorsement we've been talking about that's
06:30been lacking for Munkin the idea that he didn't show up we're just kind of left in this era of
06:34well
06:35do you like the new head coach do you not like the new head coach and I wonder if Munkin
06:38feels that
06:39exact same way like he doesn't know where he stands with Miles he doesn't know if Miles is even
06:43supportive of what he's trying to do and that ambiguity to it all has got to be something
06:48that is driving Munkin up the wall now if the Browns look at a couple things one they feel like
06:54hey we dodged the bullet of last year we still gave it another go into you know 2025 but nothing
07:02has
07:02changed and their quarterback hasn't materialized and maybe our timeline has massively changed because
07:08of the quarterback market and how it's evolved and Miles has also come to the conclusion that the
07:14quarterback market never materialized if this is both sides coming to a better understanding
07:19what they probably of what they probably should have had last year okay like listen I don't want
07:26to trade Miles and I want to be on the record as saying I do think Miles should be a
07:33career Brown
07:35but these because Miles did it publicly and because the Browns are not good enough until one until
07:42something gives here the Browns either find their quarterback and start being good or Miles just
07:47keeps not being traded and keeps not asking for a trade and honestly could have shown up at OTAs and
07:54would have shut all this this sound up that's part of it yeah but like until something gives here
07:59this will be the predominant conversation about the Browns with Miles Garrett and we can't control
08:05it like Ken's gonna get these texts where we're all going to hear things until again he either doesn't
08:12get traded or he does get traded or they win and he doesn't get traded like there's if it's going
08:19to
08:19feel a little groundhog's day and it's just the reality of the situation but I do think like it it
08:26makes
08:26even more sense now if you can get a godfather offer from the Browns perspective to do this
08:32because the quarterback market has changed and it seems like they're all in on 2027 I wouldn't do it
08:39I think it's I think that tanking slash rebuilding a hard rebuild what a hard reset whatever you want
08:46to call it I think it's foolish and I think it usually blows up and and makes a team look
08:51very foolish
08:52but it does feel like that's more of a possibility than certainly was a year ago yeah I think a
08:57lot
08:57of people are understanding that now and I think that's why it goes back to being on the table now
09:00the other side of this is uh you know where there's smoke there's fire how much of this is Miles
09:05being
09:05like all right I like people talking about this I want I want to I want people discussing this because
09:09he could have easily shown up and then it would have all gone away I almost wonder if there's like
09:13a LeBron James quality to Miles sometimes you know LeBron would just throw himself in
09:18conversations unnecessarily and then make it a whole story and a whole drama about LeBron
09:22and find this like cycle where once every you know couple weeks even it would just be another
09:27big LeBron dominated piece and I wonder if maybe Miles is a little of that to himself as well well
09:32I
09:32don't think it's coincidence that I think it's coincidence the last couple years that Miles has
09:38said things or done things have gotten attention and that it's also getting him attention as a football
09:43player like I I tend to believe that Miles is a pretty smart dude and that he understands the power
09:49of
09:50outside of a couple very extreme cases there's really not a lot of bad PR
09:55almost any PR is good PR and I do I think that helps get you attention on a very bad
10:00Browns team
10:01less yes absolutely I'm not saying it's why he's got the he's got the DPOY two straight years
10:05or two times because he's that damn good right but do I think that it has helped him getting more
10:12attention for stuff like the trade do I think do I think the trade request last year and then going
10:17out and being just an absolute career level year on a five win team do I think that helped Miles
10:25have a little extra noise behind him in a storyline absolutely of course it did yeah of course it did
10:30and so I I just wonder if that's why this continues on because Miles he could have easily put a
10:34stop
10:34to a lot of this uh I don't know that he wants to well and I think it's funny like
10:38he doesn't even
10:39have to show up at OTAs to stop the conversation he could just he just put out a video on
10:44Instagram
10:44that takes 30 seconds saying guys we the contract is so three years from now I open up something for
10:52the Browns they came to me because they want to get ahead of stuff you want to make it less
10:54nerdy go
10:55on uh like a Michael Parsons podcast like you've done previously and speak on it then and make it
10:59obvious I met Todd Munkin I also gave him a porcelain horse like things are good uh-huh that's it
11:04well I
11:04mean that'd be weird if he just copied what Chidor did yeah you want to give him like some uh
11:08some
11:09Naruto or something like that a little anime anime some something not some manga not something
11:13where Chidor's like jeez that was my gift yeah I did that already he's like hey I've got this
11:18this Japanese uh this this Japanese comic book and I signed it for you Todd give him his own
11:24autograph yeah wouldn't that be that's a power play that's Miles thing to do that's a big power
11:28are you telling me Miles doesn't give people his his autograph in just like circumstances where
11:33it's not dictated come on Miles loves him some Miles there's no problem if I looked like that
11:38and I was that charming hell yeah I'd love myself too I love myself and I'm not even that good
11:45looking
11:45are we are we like handing out like helmets or something or what is what is he signing I think
11:49he's signing why is he signing comic books so it's funnier the less team related it's more like
11:55the Miles related things like a stapler and hands it to him like speeding tickets he signs
11:59well that could be that's a big memorabilia meaning he gets them printed out and then signs
12:03replicas and just has them it's not even the real speeding ticket it's like a Chidor speeding ticket
12:10that he signs numbers them out of a hundred you get 95 out of a hundred it's more valuable also
12:15I made
12:16one of these uh one of these a digital copy as well he's like printing out like like pizza menus
12:21just signing him randomly uh it knows no bounds we're having fun 216-474-0092 Ken's getting texts
12:30oh boy uh how serious do we buy into uh Miles trade rumors
12:39really is more complex than it seems every time I see somebody try and really simplify it it's like
12:44I don't think it's that simple I don't I don't think we're in a simple spot between Miles and the
12:50team
12:52contractually his happiness with the direction of it his happiness where the team even is with
12:56where the head coach is that a lot of the screams they should have traded him last year and a
13:01lot
13:01of the screams they should trade him this offseason yet they continue to tell us no and then we don't
13:06hear from Miles
