00:00That's the best I've felt about Deshaun Watson as the Browns quarterback.
00:03Does that mean everything is solved?
00:04Not necessarily, but that's the best I felt with him.
00:07And if he's trying to build trust within myself, games like last night,
00:10the second quarter in particular, that's how you do it.
00:12I think if he's trying to win the fan base back over, this is exactly how you do it.
00:18You've got the Browns 3-1.
00:19You've got them beating Pittsburgh to go on top of this AFC North division.
00:24You've got three straight weeks of game-winning drives for the first time since Sipe.
00:28I know you said that earlier in the show.
00:29It has literally been since 1979 where Browns quarterback has had three consecutive game-winning drives.
00:37And I know we had a caller earlier in the show joke that this has a cardiac kid's feel to
00:42it.
00:43I obviously wasn't around then, but it kind of feels like it does,
00:46even though this is obviously very tremendously early in an NFL season.
00:50All right, so I know you listen to the show when you're not on the show.
00:52We always appreciate that.
00:54Every listener counts, Nick.
00:55Every listener counts.
00:56YouTube, I'm a big YouTuber.
00:58You're a big YouTube guy.
00:59I love that about you.
00:59Okay.
01:00I don't know if you know the history or not between myself and Jeffrey.
01:03So Jeffrey called in.
01:05I'm plenty familiar.
01:06You are.
01:06Okay.
01:06Jeffrey called in like a month ago, and I lost it on Jeffrey.
01:10I mean, just straight up lost it on Jeffrey.
01:12Jeffrey was one of the very few Deshaun Watson supporters to exist out there.
01:16I told him everything under the sun.
01:18I said, Deshaun's not going to be any good.
01:20You're wasting everyone's time.
01:22Jeffrey, what are you doing?
01:23Jeffrey was adamant.
01:24And I want to put him to the front of the line here because it's not fun when the rabbit's
01:29got the gun.
01:29Okay, guys?
01:30So Jeffrey, you get to own this one.
01:32You get to be Omar and the wire singing Farmer and the Dell as I put you on the line
01:36here
01:36if you want.
01:37Jeffrey, go ahead.
01:39What's up, JP?
01:40How you guys doing, man?
01:42I think everyone's good.
01:44Everyone's good.
01:44We're all good, right?
01:45Browns are three and one, but you are the prognosticator's prognosticator.
01:50You're the seer among seers.
01:51I can't believe it, Jeffrey.
01:53I can't believe I'm sitting here talking to you, and I'm apologizing to you for what
01:57I said a month ago.
01:58Hey, JP, your apologies.
02:00You don't even got to say anything, brother, because the way you're putting it out today,
02:03that lets me know you understand what's going on, man.
02:05We got an opportunity to have something good with this guy.
02:07I mean, he was a bum.
02:08Don't get me wrong.
02:09Five years was a long time to just get four good games or three and a half, however you want
02:13to call it, but these fourth quarter comebacks, man, and did you see the Steelers, like how
02:16they were celebrating after Rodgers scored that touchdown?
02:18In my brain, I'm like, too much time, bro.
02:21Yeah, Rodgers himself putting his hand up to his ear, being like, you guys quiet now?
02:26I can't hear you, and putting his finger in front of his mouth, talking about shush.
02:29Yeah, we got the last laugh out of that one, but I want to give a bold prediction to you,
02:33bro.
02:33Yeah, while you're here, before the bold prediction, you want to give me the lottery numbers for
02:37tomorrow, too?
02:37Is that something you have?
02:39Play 117, man.
02:40Pick three, man, if you want to play.
02:42But listen, so listen, this is my thing, man.
02:44I'm going to tell you right now, man, and it's going to sound crazy, but I've sounded
02:47crazy before.
02:48I got Deshaun Watson being a top five quarterback by the end of this season.
02:52We're going to win this division.
02:53I don't know how far we're going to go in the playoffs, but we're going to win this division,
02:56and he's going to get re-signed to probably about a three-year contract.
02:59And it may sound crazy or whatever, but that's just how I feel, and I've always felt good
03:04about this guy since he left Houston.
03:05You know what I mean?
03:06And as far as, like, just our whole, like, we never had a culture before.
03:12Like, you can't say we had any type of culture.
03:14Like, right now, I feel like we have a culture, and he's leading it.
03:16Like, you could say, what did this guy say earlier, cardiac kids or something like that?
03:20Like, in the fourth quarter, do not count us out.
03:23This is not the same old Browns that I grew up watching, that you grew up watching.
03:26This is a whole, and Todd Munkin, oh, my goodness, I'm so happy for that guy, man.
03:3060 years old, coming in.
03:31And what did he say?
03:33The Browns are going to Browns.
03:34F that.
03:35Oh, my God.
03:36Dude, that gives me chills to this day.
03:38And one more thing before I leave you guys.
03:41When we were winning, and it was one second left, and I don't know if they showed you
03:45the song yet, Mo Bamba.
03:47They did.
03:47I know the song.
03:49I just missed it in the moment.
03:50I missed it in the moment.
03:51I didn't know that was the name.
03:52That gave me so much chills, man.
03:53Like, just here, and just seeing those guys around Deshaun and the way he was excited,
03:59the fans are excited.
04:00Like, man, I just hope we just don't, I'm even going to say hope.
04:03I know we're going to win this division, and nothing bad is going to happen, guys.
04:06Thank you for letting me in.
04:07Thank you for taking my call, too, JP.
04:08Appreciate you, Jeff.
04:08Thank you, Jeffrey.
04:09Appreciate you, man.
04:10All right.
04:10That's good.
04:10I like that.
04:11I like how that went down.
04:12That's so wholesome, man.
04:14At 3-1.
04:15He could have done a lot more of a victory lap than he did.
04:18That's a big man Jeffrey is right there.
04:20He knows that.
04:21Everybody's riding high right now.
04:22We're 3-1.
04:24You know, like, Jonathan, you and I didn't believe because we saw it for ourselves.
04:27We saw the incompetence of Deshaun Watson up close and personal.
04:32We were there a couple of the same exact days at training camp where he was really struggling
04:37to do anything.
04:39And we were kind of looking at it through this lens, saying, we've got 20 weeks of this.
04:45That's such a long time.
04:47I was thinking to myself, like, how miserable is life going to be in November?
04:53How miserable is it going to be in December if they start this guy?
04:57But, wow, has Deshaun Watson proven us wrong through these three weeks with three huge comebacks
05:04that I found myself, like you, watching this game against Pittsburgh, kind of feeling like
05:09we've got this in the fourth quarter.
05:12They gave him the ball back with too much time.
05:14I'm almost thinking you've got to wait to score to not give it back to Rodgers with too much time.
05:19I mean, honestly, there wasn't a doubt in my mind that they were going to do anything
05:22but score there.
05:23And there was a couple different moments in that stretch.
05:25I mentioned earlier how Munkin wasn't perfect.
05:28I highlighted three things that I thought he messed up in the final, like, minute and a half.
05:31Calling passing plays after they were well within field goal range.
05:34Don't know what that was about.
05:36Like, Deshaun should not have been in the situation to even get sacked to begin with.
05:39You've got to run the ball there.
05:40Munkin calling the timeout with 19 seconds left, ensuring the Steelers were going to get the ball back.
05:45I thought that was just kind of ridiculous.
05:47And then him having his kicker kick it out of the end zone for a touchback.
05:50You put him on the 35-yard line.
05:52It's the same reason why the Ravens scored with seven seconds left in last week's game
05:55to beat the Cowboys last week in, was that Brazil?
06:00Brazil.
06:00I think it was Brazil.
06:00With a video of Tyler Loop running crazy.
06:03Yeah.
06:03Yeah, but why did that happen?
06:04Because they put him on the 35-yard line.
06:05They kicked it out of the end zone.
06:07And then that's a 20-yard pass for Lamar Jackson and then a field goal.
06:10And that's all it takes.
06:11Like, it's not perfect.
06:13The penalties still exist in a massive way.
06:15Munkin, as I labeled out in the final couple minutes of these games, has given enough reasons
06:21to be like, wait, hold on.
06:22We got to get a little bit better here and there.
06:24But I think it's also indicative of where Watson is with his game as well.
06:28And that it's not perfect.
06:30It's not.
06:31Second quarter was awesome.
06:33Three straight comeback from behind wins and game-winning drives is awesome.
06:38But it's not perfect yet.
06:40But the cool thing about it is that we're watching Munkin get better week in, week out.
06:43We're watching Watson get better week in, week out.
06:45And we're watching a lot of these young players, Boston, Concepcion, Fan, and all these guys
06:49also week in, week out.
06:51Seem like they're taking a little bit of a step forward.
06:53And honestly, at 3-1, if they're getting better each week, you got to get excited.
06:58Yeah, because they're winning.
06:59While they're getting better, they're winning.
07:01We've watched rebuilding, retooling, whatever you want to call it.
07:04Browns teams plenty.
07:05Where they've had a lot of young talent.
07:07I think back to, you know, even 2018 with Baker and Denzel, their rookie year.
07:11Nick Chubb was a rookie that year.
07:12That team had talent, and they won a handful of games.
07:16But this team seems like they've got a little bit of a different juice.
07:19And I do like what Jeffrey said there on the phone.
07:22It does feel like they are building a culture.
07:24And that's what this was all supposed to be about with Todd Munkin in his first year
07:28leading this team is that we want to win games and develop young talent.
07:33That's what they said from Jump Street was the objective.
07:36And they're doing it.
07:37Yeah, Munkin was perfect.
07:38He's absolutely perfect for this team.
07:40There's no other way around it.
07:41And it's just four games, so this could all go away as quickly as it came.
07:46So I just want to remind myself of that.
07:48It's not reminding you guys of that.
07:49It's reminding myself of that.
07:51Because the hard part for the next day and then the next week and probably two weeks
07:55after we take on the Jets is reminding myself that this team, we still got some ways to go
08:01before we crown them, so to speak.
08:02But what you're seeing, you've got to be absolutely loving.
08:05You know, my dad texted me something similar this morning.
08:07He was like, I hope this isn't fool's gold.
08:10Too many penalties.
08:12Next week you could be 4-1 against one of the worst teams in the league.
08:16I'm like, look, don't think of it as fool's gold.
08:18Think of it as, yeah, there is a lot of penalties and there has been a lot of mistakes.
08:22But for every penalty and for every mistake, aren't they also giving you something kind of cool on the other
08:27side of that agreement?
08:27We're like, okay, if I'm going to have to have 14 or 15 penalties, at least I've got Denzel Boston
08:32looking awesome.
08:33At least Casey Concepcion's making defenders look silly when he gets the football in his hands.
08:37At least I'm getting things from these young players while they're having these learning moments happen.
08:43And they're incredibly fun.
08:44And they're winning.
08:44They're winning and they're incredibly fun.
08:46One thing I thought going into the game last night was the idea that the world was going to find
08:51out just how fun some of these young players are.
08:54My hope for last night going into it obviously was a win.
08:57But my big hope was that the main takeaway would be the Ben Solak's of the world.
09:01And all these guys, they'd highlight, oh my gosh, Concepcion's awesome.
09:07Boston is awesome.
09:09These young players are for real.
09:10And not only are they doing that today, they're doing that in spades.
09:13While also giving a bunch of credit to Deshaun for the performance that he had in his second quarter that,
09:18again, I haven't seen him play that way since Houston.
09:21That second quarter was one of the more magnificent quarters you can have.
09:24150 yards, one in completion, completed 11 passes, no turnovers, no mistakes, no miscues.
09:30That was a near perfect second quarter.
09:33Like, there's a lot to really get excited about.
09:352-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
09:38Big Sherm in Chagrin Falls.
09:39What's up, Big Sherm?
09:41What's up, Jonathan?
09:42Jonathan, how are you, gentlemen?
09:44Good, good.
09:45How are you doing today?
09:45I'm sure excited about 3-1.
09:47I am.
09:48So I say this at work.
09:50One is kind of an anomaly.
09:53Two in a row, you kind of scratch your chin.
09:55Three in a row, that's a streak.
09:57So I'm loving it.
09:58So I told the screener that I have a new nickname for Deshaun.
10:03Yeah.
10:03And it's movie-related.
10:05First off, Jonathan, you're channeling Will Ferrell today, because you remember from old school, it's The Trust Tree.
10:11Yeah, The Trust Tree, yeah.
10:13So I got that.
10:13But anyways, it's a Nicolas Cage movie from 2000.
10:20Gone in 60 Seconds.
10:21Remember that movie?
10:21Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:22For sure, yeah.
10:23Okay, so if Todd Munkin is Nicolas Cage, then Deshaun Watson is the elusive Mustang that he had to steal.
10:31It was a 1973 Mustang.
10:33And what was the name of the Mustang?
10:35He gave it a woman's name.
10:36I remember the woman's name.
10:37I don't remember.
10:38Was it started with a C?
10:40No, it was Eleanor.
10:41Eleanor.
10:41I'm going to call Deshaun Eleanor.
10:43It's been a long time.
10:43Been a long time since I watched that one.
10:45Beautiful car, just like Deshaun.
10:47Older.
10:482000, 26 years old car, right?
10:50Or 1973.
10:51And sometimes it started, sometimes it didn't.
10:53Sometimes the engine purred.
10:54So, you know, you've got to break yourself a little bit here.
10:57I'm loving it.
10:58I actually thought they'd win the division, but I thought it was going to be the reverse of Deshaun laying
11:03the egg, going to Sanders, and Sanders taking us to the promised land.
11:07But I'm happy.
11:08I'm a Browns fan, so I'm happy either way.
11:10But I'm going to call him Eleanor from now on and watch that movie and think of that.
11:13The only thing I remember from that movie, because I really did genuinely like that movie at one point, was
11:17the scene where he tries to steal the car, and then he turns around and is like, you need a
11:21role model.
11:22I don't know why that scene has always stayed with me.
11:24I don't know why.
11:25How about when the one guy, they steal the big truck, the monster truck, and the license plate said snake,
11:33and there's a giant python in the truck as, like, the guard to don't steal my truck.
11:39All right, Big Sherm.
11:40You guys have a great day.
11:41Thanks, man.
11:42Thank you so much.
11:42All right.
11:43Big Sherm with a little rewatchables for a movie that I think came out about the time you were being
11:47born.
11:47I'm not sure.
11:49Yeah.
11:49Is that right?
11:49Yeah.
11:50Is that right?
11:50Probably.
11:51You told me your movie references are just gone.
11:53Yeah.
11:53You got nothing on those.
11:54I've got nothing on the movies.
11:55Understandable.
11:55That's fine.
11:56Scott up next in the fan.
11:57Hello, Scott.
11:58Hey, what's up, JP?
11:59Hey, Scott.
12:00What's up, man?
12:01Hey, brother.
12:02Don't forget, you and I still got to go get our Deshaun Watson tattoos, if you remember
12:06that phone call.
12:07All right.
12:07But, hey, I'm serious, though.
12:09Wait, what?
12:10You don't remember the call, man?
12:12We have to go get our, when Mick was on, I said, you know, Deshaun's going to look better
12:17at Munkin's offense, and we're going to have to go get our Deshaun Watson tattoos, but I'm
12:22just kidding.
12:22Did I respond telling you that I think my wife would divorce me if I got a tattoo?
12:28Yeah, exactly.
12:29Exactly.
12:29Um, so, we can't do that.
12:32But, um, on a serious note, man, I know that you cannot review pass interference, so, being
12:38able to throw a challenge flag and review whether or not that ball touched the defensive
12:44lineman's fingers, I didn't think that that was a reviewable call.
12:47It is, yeah.
12:48That's how it went down.
12:48Yeah, and it was a great job by the Steelers in recognizing that in real time and being
12:52able to obviously put that into action.
12:54It was, if the Browns lose that game, that is one of the key highlights and key takeaways
12:58we have of how they ended up losing that.
13:00And one of the more ridiculous things I've ever seen, but it's all by the book, 100%
13:04right.
13:05Yep.
13:05It's a nuance to the rule that if you, you know, if the hand of the quarterback or the
13:10arm of the quarterback, whatever, the ball gets tipped, that's technically like a tip
13:13ball drill.
13:14That's not really a, you know, pass interference review.
13:18And the call was correct.
13:20I just didn't think that it was reviewable.
13:22No, I didn't.
13:23I, I, and even the broadcast crew was trying to put it together in real time.
13:27It just so very rarely comes into play, Scott.
13:29That's all.
13:30But it was a great job by the Steelers to recognize it.
13:33Right, right.
13:34Well, let's go Browns.
13:35All right, let's go Browns.
13:36All right, you too.
13:36Thank you, Scott.
13:37I appreciate you.
13:38Uh, the, I have no idea what he's talking about with the tattoos, but I'm sure that
13:41happened.
13:42And I'm sure my response was, I can't get a tattoo or my wife is going to divorce me.
13:45Not a tattoo family.
13:46It is not a tattoo family.
13:47Okay, so I'm, I'd be down at some point for a tattoo bet, but I'm not doing like, like,
13:53well, you have tattoo bet written all over you.
13:55What's a Deshaun Watson tattoo?
13:57What is a Deshaun Watson tattoo?
13:59I've got a shock.
13:59You don't have like four that you already have on your body somewhere because of lost bets.
14:03Uh, what's a Deshaun Watson tattoo?
14:05Like I, I, I would be curious to know, like, what does that like, is it like the number
14:09four?
14:10It's not a, it's not a, like a Deshaun Watson on your leg or something.
14:14That's kind of, that's kind of what I was thinking about.
14:17Cause you know, Deshaun Watson has a tattoo on his back of Martin Luther King Jr.
14:22And a snapback.
14:23That's fun information that you have.
14:25I didn't, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't remember that or know that on his back.
14:28Actually, I have looked at his back tattoos before.
14:30I have seen that.
14:32The ML football account on X tags me in it probably every 30 days.
14:36I think they've just got it like scheduled to come out every 30 days, but for some reason
14:40they tagged me in it.
14:41So every 30 days I get a reminder that he has like a huge tattoo on his back.
14:44Do you have any tattoos?
14:45I do.
14:47None of them, none of them are.
14:48Are they, are they Martin Luther King Jr.?
14:50Are they Deshaun Watson?
14:50Like what are they?
14:51None of them are a result of a lost bet.
14:53Not yet.
14:53Are any of people's faces that you'd want to tell me about?
14:55Nope.
14:56No face ones.
14:56Do you have no Bamba tattooed on your body somewhere?
14:58Okay.
14:58All right.
14:59I just want to make sure.
14:59Do you have any interesting tattoos?
15:01No.
15:02Not like.
15:03Well, maybe we need to get one.
15:04What's the bet that can get you a, a Deshaun Watson tattoo?
15:07I don't, how do we get there?
15:08I'm not getting a Deshaun Watson tattoo.
15:09Browns win the division.
15:10First time since 1989.
15:11They win the AFC North.
15:12Will you get a Deshaun Watson tattoo?
15:14No.
15:15Browns win the Super Bowl.
15:16I don't want a Deshaun Watson tattoo.
15:18Let's get some stakes going, man.

15:37If it, if it's this year, Browns win the Super Bowl, I'll get a four tattoo.
