00:00No one can really agree on Mawagnoa over Fano or Iowani.
00:07We have heard a lot of kind of being like, well, if this wasn't really about position,
00:11he would certainly be a higher pick too.
00:13I mean, I just, we have not spent much time talking about him, but like the, the other
00:17two, I find it really fascinating because you are trying to offset what you already
00:21have or what you think you have mixed with what could potentially just be, I don't know,
00:25somebody that plays for 10 years, a plug and play starter.
00:27And so the conversation is fascinating.
00:29I mean, we had Dane on yesterday, Dane Brugler and Nick, I, I mean, what, what'd you say
00:33Mac?
00:34Like 50% of that convo was him talking about Fano.
00:36Like he couldn't stop salivating about him.
00:38And then like between that, between the Schrager audio, like, like there's just been a lot this
00:43week about Spencer Fano.
00:45And so I find that to be incredibly interesting.
00:46What I like about Fano and what I like about Mawagnoa both are Mawagnoa both.
00:51They'll both are ass kickers.
00:53Like the, the knock on Caleb Lomu is he needs to learn a little bit more of that.
00:59NFL grit, maybe get a little bit more vicious, the knock on Monroe Freeling and not just the
01:04raw stuff, but again, he can be more physical.
01:08Like, like I, if, if you're taking an offensive line with a top 10 pick, I want a guy who's
01:13going to beat the crap out of whoever he's across from.
01:16But I think what's interesting with the, just the difference between Mawagnoa and Fano is
01:21everyone's pretty much settled in.
01:23They think Mawagnoa, Mawagnoa is a, is a guard.
01:27Whereas with, with Fano, there are some people who still think he's a left tackle, which I
01:33don't think he passes the arm test of the arm length test.
01:36Okay.
01:36But so, but then there are even more people saying, no, he's a right tackle.
01:41Then there are people saying, well, I think he's a center.
01:44He was in the three, the three percentile as far as arm length is concerned.
01:48So like, and this is why I brought it up for Mawagnoa yesterday, but it applies for Fano
01:53as well.
01:53The Joel Batonio side of this, whereas like, if you could end up being Joel Batonio, Batonio
01:58played right tackle in college and then obviously kicked inside.
02:01And that was an awesome career.
02:02If that's what you're looking at right here, I don't think that's a bad thing, especially
02:05not in this draft class, especially not at six.
02:07I'm glad you said in this draft class, um, here's three years from now.
02:12When I look back at this draft, I just need you to have found three or four more ball players
02:17at this point, because like, uh, Elton Jenkins, he's still a short-term play.
02:24Very likely.
02:25Like he's, I think he's got a two-year contract.
02:27Be lucky if he, you know, if he gets here three years from now.
02:29And I can't let Tevin Jenkins stand in the way of any sort of plans.
02:33100%.
02:33Um, even, I mean, heck, none of the, listen, I think they've got a couple of guys who are
02:38going to surprise people, but Titus Howard is 30.
02:42Uh, Zion Johnson is a younger guy, but that could be a guy two years from now they're looking
02:47to replace.
02:47So I guess my, my point is like long-term, I'm not sold any of the guys they signed are
02:53still going to be here.
02:54Short-term, there's very few guys that I'm really locking into any specific spot.
02:59So like, I think the, the final thing that's so interesting to me is that people are like,
03:03well, he lacks a position and that scares me in this draft.
03:08I don't like, I, I don't want to reach for guys who might not be worthy of the draft position
03:14or who might not be impact players because then that's just another long-term question
03:20mark.
03:20It fills the need now until it doesn't fill the need.
03:23So if Fano ends up being your starting center for the next 10 years, that's more important
03:27to me than if a Monroe Freeling ends up a couple spotty years here and doesn't ever end up
03:33being the player people wanted to be at left tackle.
03:35Yeah, no question about it.
03:36Uh, the, the arm and the hand size, I find incredible.
03:39It really is.
03:40He's just a massive human and he's got all these great traits and he's so he's fast, oddly
03:44enough, his 40 yard was, uh, the very best out of any lineman in this draft.
03:48And then he's just has these, these little alligator arms, doesn't he?
03:51And he's got these little tiny baby hands too.
03:53His hands are in the ninth percentile.
03:55It just doesn't even look like it just doesn't fit the ninth percentile.
03:59Yeah.
03:59Like if we make, it's nine inches, that's the ninth percentile.
04:02If we, that, okay.
04:04And some, you're giving me too much information.
04:06That's not in some places.
04:07That's well above average.
04:08In some places, um, some places just stop.
04:11We got to stop it.
04:12Uh, cause I'm going to go there.
04:13Uh, I think what's it, do we have to, by the way, do I have to make itty bitty hand
04:18jokes with him the way we did itty bitty human jokes with Dylan Gabriel?
04:22I think we do the T-Rex arms things probably more with him.
04:24Do the T-Rex arms thing?
04:24Yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:25I think so.
04:25Every time we talk, do we actually do like, just bring him in?
04:27Like every joke we make from Will Campbell, we have to then do for him.
04:30That would be part of the problem.
04:31The difference is Will Campbell plays in New England.
04:33If Will Campbell was here in Cleveland and it had been criticized as badly as he had been
04:37in the second half of the season, I'd be like, the man was plagued through an injury.
04:40I would have fought for the hills for Will Campbell.
04:43I think we get to transfer it as the point though.
04:45We get to transfer all the commentary and we can just move it right over here.
04:47And then I think we'd probably end up interviewing him at training camp or something like that.
04:51And I'd be like, I think he's got long arms.
04:53And they'd be like, wait a second.
04:53My, my hands dwarfed his hands.
04:55What's going on here?
04:57So fine.
04:57I just double check too.
04:59Fano has a shorter arms than Will Campbell and smaller hands than Will Campbell.
05:03Yeah.
05:03Again, he's in the three percentile for arms.
05:05That's incredible.
05:06And then the hand is the ninth percentile.
05:08That's incredibly tiny.
05:09I don't need my offensive lineman to have big hands because I have found.
05:13He's got big feet.
05:14Well, no, no.
05:15It's, it's the, the smaller hands, meaning the more, the, the less surface area to spread
05:19out the violence.
05:20You ever been punched by a dude with small hands?
05:23My cousin, Glennis has hits as hard as a man.
05:26What's your cousin's name?
05:27Glennis.
05:27But, but hits like a man.
05:29That's a ridiculous name.
05:30And her, her, my cousin, Johnny, her twin, he's six foot four.
05:33She hits harder than him.
05:36And I think like 50% of it is she's got, uh, you know, smaller hands than he does.
05:41She, guys, you cannot, you know, she's hit me in the shoulder and my shoulder lost feeling.
05:45Are we going to spin zone, uh, short hands or short arms?
05:48Short arms is a thing, but tiny hands might be for offensive linemen.
05:52Tiny hands are the new big hands.
05:53Is that what you're trying to?
05:53It's under you and he, he, you know, punches under your, your, uh, whether the, the chest
05:58protector, Ooh boy, is that going to smart?
06:00I just don't want him holding like a, like a, uh, you know, a thing of Coke and being like,
06:04Oh, you got the two liter.
06:05And it's like, no, this is the normal size.
06:06Like I just, I, I, at some point I got, you gotta have enough size there enough, big
06:10enough hands somewhere.
06:11I just love that you're making and breaking your evaluation of an offensive line prospect
06:15based on your cousin, Glennis.
06:17Uh, yes.
06:18But you haven't met Glennis.
06:19Have you, you know what?
06:19I'm going to invite her in here to punch you in the shoulder and then, and then I'll
06:22have Johnny punch you in the shoulder.
06:24And when you come back and go, man, she hits harder.
06:27It must be the tiny hands.
06:28I think I'm going to be proven pretty right.
06:30And your shoulder is going to hurt like hell.
06:33I, I'd love to see it, but I don't think you would.
06:36I don't, I wouldn't volunteer to be hitting anywhere.
06:39If I were you, we could put it on YouTube.
06:40We could definitely be just saying, I think that's consent right there.
06:42I was worried about consent.
06:43In my head, I was worried about HR for a little bit of like, I don't know.
06:46Can you really bring somebody into, I don't know, punch the board up?
06:49And see which one hurts.
06:51But, uh, he just consented.
06:52Actually, we'd turn into like a random jackass type bit.
06:55Just who can beat up Mac?
06:57And we just, we could have Nick Nemeth like suplex him.
07:00Okay.
07:00That's no, I I'm good.
07:02I can, I can deal with your, your family members, but now go on Nick Nemeth.
07:07Oh, can you believe that?
07:08Taunting my cousin, Glenn.
07:09Really quickly.
07:10How are we going to play this interview?
07:11You're not going to out him for me being not a wrestling guy.
07:14Or is that part of the deal?
07:16Because I, he's going to pick up on the idea that I don't know anything about wrestling
07:19at all.
07:20I like to play it by ear.
07:21Like if you incent me between now and then, there's a real good chance I will.
07:26I just don't know.
07:27But if you play it cool, Johnny, we'll see.
07:28Well, I just don't, I don't even know what I'm rooting for in this.
07:30Like, you're going to be like, Hey, so, uh, Jonathan says he thinks wrestling's fake.
07:35Okay.
07:36But don't say that.
07:37Cause that's the only thing.
07:38I mean, I need to know what grenades I can't step on.
07:40I guess.
07:40Don't say that.
07:41Why is that so bad?
07:42Cause that's a chotch move.
07:43Like, tell me, tell me what's a chotch move.
07:45I don't want to offend the guy is the point.
07:47And I also don't want him coming over here and then hitting me in the face either.
07:49If you say.
07:50I'd prefer that not to be a Thursday.
07:52Honestly, it would make some good headlines.
07:53It'd be good, good press for the show.
07:55Could you imagine that?
07:56I mean, could you imagine just me getting socked in the face?
07:59Yeah, I can.
08:00Hello, awful announcing.
08:01Hello, by, what's his name?
08:03Dolph Ziggler?
08:04No, it's Nick Nemeth.
08:05Dolph Ziggler was his name.
08:07I put in Nick Nemeth and Dolph Ziggler came up.
08:09Is that gone?
08:10That was his WWE name.
08:11Cause they don't let wrestlers use their given name.
08:13It's like an RSS feed.
08:14It doesn't transfer when you go.
08:16They own the actual name.
08:19Again, like an RSS feed for some companies, they own it.
08:21And then you just don't get to transfer it.
08:23Yes, exactly.
08:23Exactly.
08:24Yeah.
08:24Yeah.
08:24But okay.
08:25You can say, I don't follow wrestling or even I don't like wrestling.
08:29You can't say it's fake.
08:31You can't say it's fake to a wrestler.
08:32Okay.
08:32Cause honestly.
08:33I didn't know that.
08:34Well, I think wrestlers are cooler about it, but I didn't know that.
08:37Wrestlers are cooler about it now than they used to be.
08:40I just think if I was a wrestler, I'd say, why don't you come down to the ring Saturday
08:43and I'll body slam you and you tell me how fake it feels.
08:46I mean, but isn't he wrestling with like Bernie Kosar?
08:48No, no, no, no, no.
08:50No.
08:50Bernie's in his corner.
08:51Oh, okay.
08:52He's wrestling AJ Francis.
08:54I was like, is Bernie memorizing the moves?
08:56Is Bernie going to be great to see Bernie drop the big leg?
09:00That's what I thought was happening.
09:01And I thought it was obviously set up then for Bernie to win the match, but obviously
09:04that's not the case.
09:05My hope is there is a spot where AJ Francis, who was a former NFL player by his own right,
09:10that he maybe taunts Bernie and then maybe like Bernie with a kendo stick or just some
09:16weapon or just pie faces him into a great spot from Nick Nemeth.
09:21But that's my hope.
09:22I bet he's got bigger hands than Spencer Fano.
09:24Bernie?
09:25Nick Nemeth.
09:25Oh, yeah.
09:26I think everybody does.
09:28It's the short arms that concern me.
09:29The short arms are the bigger deal for me for offensive linemen.
09:32For quarterbacks, you need to have bigger hands.
09:34But getting back to, I don't know where the hell you want to go from here.
09:39Well, I mean, there really isn't many places to go from here because I'm not necessarily sold
09:44on the idea that we haven't like really talked Fano into existence here.
09:48And the only thing that Bruegler kept going back to was how great he was at the Combine.
09:52The selling point for Spencer Fano was the idea that at the Combine, he apparently was
09:56just otherworldly awesome.
09:59And I just don't know that I love that being the major selling point of this evaluation.
10:04I think I have arrived, though, at the point where I want to treat the sixth pick with the
10:10idea of, again, three years from now, who are going to be the guys we say are the best
10:15football players.
10:16If that's Vega, Iowani, then take a guard, take an out-and-out guard at six.
10:21If it is Maui Noah and he's a guard, take him at six.
10:25Because I do think, and I really believe, like if you consistently take for need over a best
10:33player available or best player available within a subset of needs, I think you're going
10:38to be a bad franchise.
10:40I also think it's different.
10:41I think it matters what you're trying to do and what you're trying to accomplish.
10:43And for the Browns right now, they really do have the luxury of sitting back and saying,
10:46who's going to make our team best for the next five years, not necessarily just for next
10:50season.
10:51Well, and I think there's been some talk about Howard being able to move over to left tackle.
10:56Obviously, you have DeJuan there as well.
10:58And Elton Jenkins has experience, too.
11:00So it's not like with wide receiver.
11:03I can't slide somebody else over to play wide receiver.
11:06I can't take Harold Fannin's backup, who's, I don't even know what their name is.
11:11I think we signed him.
11:12He was a guy.
11:12Which was Jack Stoll?
11:13Yeah, old Jack Stoll.
11:14You can't slide him into the X spot, right?
11:16Good run blocker.
11:18Although coach tried making an argument for Jack Stoll yesterday as a reason for why they're
11:21going to be awesome this year.
11:22And I was like, you can't bring Jack Stoll into the equation.
11:25By the way, the thing I really agreed with Greenlee was Sam Rauch, the tight end at a Stanford.
11:30That man is a gigantic human being.
11:336'6".
11:34Yeah, like worst case scenario, he just turns into a really good blocking tight end that
11:38occasionally catches the football.
11:40Best case, the dude is just a physical specimen.
11:43Well, I mean, if Andrew Barry thinks that he's got like the inside track, his hot hand
11:47is on tight ends, then go for it.
11:49You know the other thing?
11:50Just getting back to Garrett Greenlee, because I had made Sadiq or Concepcion was one of the
11:55questions I asked him at 24.
11:57Yeah.
11:57And didn't he say neither?
12:00I think his answer was...
12:02He said neither.
12:02He didn't like either one.
12:03He liked Sadiq less, though.
12:05What's interesting is, I've gotten a lot more questions from like friends and everybody
12:09about Sadiq at 24, which usually tells me that he's being mocked to the Browns more at
12:1424-39.
12:15He just feels like a Browns player.
12:17But again, he falls in that category of guys.
12:19Six drop passes in 2025.
12:21His ball skills are just mattingly inconsistent, all things considered.
12:24His production was otherworldly.
12:26He led the FBS as far as tight ends are concerned, and receiving yards.
12:29Should be in that system.
12:30Yeah.
12:31With that quarterback.
12:32Yeah.
12:32I'm anti, and I'm just going to say this because somebody has to stand on a...
12:36You're going to be the guy to go out on a limb here?
12:37I'm the guy that's going to say it.
12:39Yeah.
12:39If you get paid on catching the football, and you do not catch the football consistently,
12:48I'm out on you.
12:49I mean, he is by far the best tight end in this class, but he would have been behind Warren,
12:54behind Loveland last year.
12:56Like, it's just not the same class as what it was last season.
12:59And if Cardinal Tate does go at six, can I talk everyone else into Jordan Tyson at 24?
13:05Because the Jordan Tyson stall is real, because he actually just scheduled a personal workout
13:11with teams at Arizona State on April 17th.
13:15So, I think the camp knows he's falling in the draft.
13:18If he falls right to the Browns at 24, and you get Tate and Jordan Tyson...
13:23It's not a sell for me.
13:24I love it.
13:25I'd also like Chris Bell.
13:27I actually...
13:27I really don't...
13:28Chris Bell's injury scare.
13:29So, I don't care.
13:31Chris Bell, without the injuries, I think would be a first-round pick.
13:34And the idea that that happens really annoys the hell out of me.
13:37It's like, in this draft, where there are so few elite-level prospects...
13:42I'm not saying Chris Bell is an elite-level prospect, but where, like, you just need to
13:46find good football players.
13:47Chris Bell will be one of those dudes three years from now, where, like, how the hell did
13:51he...
13:51Much like A.J. Brown going 49 to Tennessee, a player he's been compared to, by the way,
13:56Chris Bell's going to be a guy three years from now, like, how the hell was he only
13:59the 39th pick?
14:00Yeah, I mean, it's all about the torn ACL he's still recovering from.
14:03And I don't think he's going to be ready for the start of the 2026 season.
14:06But again, for the Browns, that doesn't matter.
14:08Like, you get value out of that.
14:09Yeah.
14:09Yeah.
14:09Yeah.
14:09Yeah.
14:09You
