00:05former finance minister, Daim Zainuddin, and a former lawyer.
00:09The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission sought the warrants after brothers Amir and Amin
00:14Zainuddin Daim failed to turn up at the anti-graft agency's headquarters to provide their statements
00:19on Monday.
00:21A warrant was also issued for former lawyer Josephine Premla Sivaretnam following her
00:25no-show yesterday.
00:27Magistrate Illy Mariska Khalidzan issued the warrants on MACC's application after hearing
00:33arguments by Deputy Public Prosecutor Mahadi Abdul Jumaat and lawyer Nizamuddin Hamid appearing
00:38for the trio.
00:40She said the court found that no supporting documents had been presented to substantiate
00:45their claims of being unable to attend at the MACC's office to have their statements recorded.
00:50Illy noted that the trio had been notified by MACC in February that they were required
00:55to furnish their statements.
00:58However, the court granted an interim stay on today's arrest warrants after being informed
01:02that the parties intend to seek a revision at the High Court of the Order.
