00:02We were just talking about our time there in Pico,
00:05and I was on Fox Sports Radio.
00:08We just started it, and I remember the Fox guys,
00:10and George Greenberg came down,
00:12and he was trying to tie in both the television
00:14and he was trying to tie in the radio together,
00:17and they would have me do the Best Damn Sports Show.
00:20And, David, you wrote that show, and you initially wrote it for –
00:25Well, I tell you, I wrote the show.
00:27The show originally came out of a show I did in Australia
00:30that became hugely popular, and you've always got to have someone
00:35in mind when you write the show, and I wrote it for Terry.
00:39And I said to Terry, listen, I've written this show,
00:41and I'll tell you what we came up with a name.
00:43Scotty Ackerson, who produced Fox NFL Sunday,
00:47and we were sitting there, what are we going to call the show?
00:49And we went through it and went through it and went through it,
00:50and right at the end of the meeting, Scotty says,
00:53he was breaking for a – on his way out to grab a quick smoke,
00:58said, you know, all we're trying to do is make
00:59the Best Damn Sports Show, period.
01:02And I said, that's the title.
01:04And he said, what's the title?
01:06I said, that's the title, Best Damn Sports Show, period.
01:09So it was.
01:09It was a great show, and unfortunately,
01:13there was some economic hardship that meant that the show got cancelled,
01:17but it never should have got cancelled.
01:19I thought it was great.
01:20It was primarily – it's where Michael Strahan came from,
01:23that it was primarily a show where I could look at talent coming through
01:28and see athletes who were natural in front of camera.
01:33And Michael Strahan was just, like, so outstanding.
01:38And that's – and look what's happened to Michael.
01:40And that all started with Michael doing reps on Best Damn – Best Damn –
01:46Best Damn Show – whatever it was.
01:48Best Damn Sports Show, period.
01:50Absolutely there.
