00:00There's a former center, you know his name, Frank Ragnow, who just retired, okay?
00:05Frank Ragnow is a very good player for them.
00:07He signed a four-year, $54 million extension back in 2021.
00:12That included a $6 million signing bonus.
00:14So, of course, when you get a signing bonus in the NFL, it's prorated over the length of the deal.
00:18So he had about $3 million left for the signing bonus for cap purposes, right?
00:23So he announced his retirement.
00:25Now, one might say, okay, well, tell me, but I don't follow, you know, the comings and goings of offensive
00:31linemen or centers,
00:32unless I'm a Lions fan, or maybe I'm a fan of, you know, an NFC North team.
00:37So let me just walk you through this real quick, and I'll tell you why I'm disgusted by those scumbags
00:42that run the Detroit Lions.
00:44Frank Ragnow, in 2020, suffered a fractured throat.
00:49I've never heard of that injury.
00:51He didn't come out of the game.
00:52He stayed in the game with a fractured throat.
00:57Let that sink in for a second.
00:58Now, they kept him out of the next two games back in 2020 because they weren't allowed to play him,
01:04but with a fractured throat, he stayed in the game and tried to help his team win.
01:10He had turf toe in 2021.
01:13He had a groin injury in 2022.
01:17He had a myriad of lower body injuries, his knees, his legs, et cetera, et cetera.
01:22He had a calf injury.
01:24He had a back injury.
01:26The guy had a knee injury, an ankle injury, and on and on and on.
01:31All right?
01:32And every day, that dude put on his pads and showed up like a blue-collar man and went to
01:38work when they allowed him to.
01:40And he said, my body's broken down.
01:42I'm desperate to keep playing.
01:44I love the sport of football.
01:46I love the Detroit Lions.
01:48I love the fans.
01:50But my body is broken down.
01:52I can no longer play.
01:54And rather than honor the service, and rather than appreciate the fact that the man played with a fractured throat,
02:05the Detroit Lions demanded that he repay them the $3 million out of the $6 million that he got as
02:13part of a signing bonus.
02:15It ain't the first time they've done it.
02:17They did it to the greatest player in the franchise's history, Barry Sanders.
02:23They did it to the second-best player in the franchise's history, Megatron.
02:29And now they've done it to Frank Ragnall.
02:33The owner of the Detroit Lions, the Ford family, are worth tens of billions of dollars.
02:41And you're making a guy who, yes, made a lot of money.
02:45He's fine financially.
02:47But you're making a guy that literally gave you his blood, his sweat, his tears, and played with a fractured
02:57throat.
02:58You're making that guy return a portion of his signing bonus.
03:04Because the owners of the Lions, and I have to, again, I don't want to say it's the GM.
03:09I hope it's not.
03:11But I'm going to keep it to the Ford family and the ownership and not the executives.
03:17You're a bunch of scumbags.
03:19And the fact that you would make Frank Ragnall return about approximately $3 million after the man gave you his
03:28body.
03:29And I'll tell you something else.
03:31He's not going to walk well for the rest of his life.
03:34No.
03:34He's going to need long-term health care because of the injuries he suffered, not just to his throat, but
03:40to his legs, his knees, his ankles, his calf, and all that stuff.
03:44And your way of saying thank you to a guy that gave you his everything is to demand a prorated
03:52portion of his signing bonus back?
03:55Shame on you, you dirty scumbags.
03:59Because that's what you are.
