00:00So a lot of what I see here, to me, are available free agents to help the team, but very
00:06curiously, Jacob, because of what I'm alluding to here, short-term deals, short-term guaranteed money, a lot of upfront
00:14money for this year.
00:16Yeah, and to your point, Craig, I believe the Raiders entered the offseason with the second most cap space in
00:21the NFL.
00:21That might have changed given some contract restructures or releases in the days of head of free agency, but they
00:27had a lot of money to spend.
00:29And I absolutely love the fact that they brought in Tyler Linderbaum to play center for them.
00:34Raiders had the worst offensive line in the NFL last season, perhaps one of the worst that we've seen in
00:39the NFL in decades.
00:40So they really needed upgrades across that unit.
00:43And center is one of the more important positions on the line because it ties the left side to the
00:49right side, and you have to have a strong relationship with your quarterback there, too.
00:52So Linderbaum's going to come in, experienced guy, rock solid.
00:56He's been one of Pro Football Focus's top seven graded centers in each of his first four years in the
01:01league.
01:01So he's going to give a steady presence in front of presumed number one overall pick, Fernando Mendoza there.
01:07And I think that's going to be a nice long-term partnership.
01:10He got a massive deal to do this, though.
01:13Creed Humphrey previously set the record for center pay in the NFL at $18 million a year.
01:18Tyler Linderbaum is getting $27 million in average annual value, which is a massive deal, but he could be well
01:24worth it for a Raiders team that needs stuff great at his offensive line.
01:27And, hey, the Ravens have to be looking at this and saying, man, we really screwed up.
01:32They could have exercised the fifth-year option to keep Tyler Linderbaum.
01:36They would have had to pay him $23.5 million for that one season.
01:40They decided, no, we might be able to get him for a little bit cheaper if we sign him to
01:44an extension in the offseason.
01:45But that bidding war blew past that number, and ultimately they're going to have to replace him, and that's a
01:50really tough position.
01:52You know, they'll have to draft one probably, but all of a sudden their interior offensive line isn't looking too
01:57good,
01:57and it was already an issue outside of Linderbaum last year.
