00:00Who's your best player in this draft?
00:02I mean, if you were looking at all of the prospects right now,
00:06I call them sandbox guys.
00:08There's probably nine or 10 guys, right, Joe?
00:11I mean, I think the average fan thinks there's 32 first-round picks.
00:14There's really not.
00:15There's probably around nine first-round picks that are in this draft.
00:19In your opinion, if you had to pick the best
00:21and most talented player in this draft, who would that player be?
00:24Well, if we're talking defense, I would go with David Bailey from Texas Tech.
00:29The way he transformed that Red Raider defense,
00:32I think he's a dominating pass rusher and a dominating defensive front.
00:37A lineman like Jared Verse was for the Rams a couple years ago
00:42in winning Rookie of the Year.
00:43He forces double teams.
00:45He's a force to be reckoned with, has great technique,
00:48and again, elevated one of the worst defensive fronts in college football
00:51in just under a year.
00:53So I think he is that type of game changer.
00:55But on the offensive side of the ball, Dan,
00:58and I think Cardinal Tate is the best available wide receiver.
01:01When we see JSN get the most money from a wide receiver perspective,
01:05I think he's in that mold.
01:07We've seen Ohio State players hit the ground running at the wide receiver
01:11position, and he can transform an offense, I believe,
01:15to 1,000-yard or 1,200-yard receiver in year number one
01:19with competent quarterback play.
01:21So, again, and that's not to take away from Jeremiah Love as well.
01:25I just think when we look at running backs and we look at, you know,
01:28the additions of running backs and how they have been added into schemes
01:33and organizations, running back can maybe take a step back,
01:37even though Saquon and some of the others, like Derrick Henry,
01:40have dominated the NFL for recent years.
01:44What do you make of the Ohio State linebacker, Sonny Stiles, 4'4", 3", 6'5",
01:49250 pounds?
01:50You put his tape on, too, Joe.
01:52This guy, I saw him against Miami.
01:54He was all over the football field.
01:56I mean, this guy can play.
01:57He dominated the combines.
01:59Then you put his tape on, too.
02:01What do you make of him?
02:03I like Sonny Stiles.
02:05Do I think he's a dominant player?
02:07He has the potential.
02:08I still think he can add maybe 10 to 15 pounds of muscle.
02:11But, again, he can run sideline to sideline.
02:14Is he as dominant, in my opinion, in run support as David Bailey
02:18or some of the others?
02:20No.
02:20And I think Bain is in that area as well, a bigger body.
02:24But Stiles is more athletic.
02:26He's faster.
02:27But, again, when we're talking about type of player that you need,
02:30he's more of an outside linebacker slash edge rusher,
02:34where I think David Bailey could be that dominant defensive end
02:37that just takes games over like Myles Garrett.
02:41Absolutely.
02:42Mario Cristobal said Bailey was the best player he had seen the entire season
02:46and guys that he had played against.
02:48What do you think the Cowboys do?
02:50And what do you think the Cowboys are looking at?
02:52Because, you know, they make the deal for Quentin Williams.
02:54I think, actually, Joe, if you think about it,
02:57since they got rid of Micah Parsons,
02:59they loaded up on equity with draft picks.
03:01I think they got a little bit better as a unit.
03:04Now you lose a star player like that.
03:06But where do you see the Cowboys going in this draft?
03:08I still think the Cowboys have defensive needs, Dan, in the secondary.
03:13And I know that their offense is legit, and we know that potentially.
03:17And I agree with you.
03:18I think they got more cohesive as a defensive unit
03:21after they got rid of Micah Parsons.
03:23But when we see games that Dallas loses,
03:26teams are able to throw over the top.
03:28I still think you can't have enough quality cornerbacks
03:31and safeties in the draft.
03:33So I think those are two needs that they potentially address
03:36in rounds two through seven.
03:38And, again, they need to upgrade the defense
03:40to where they're dominant to go up against the likes
03:43of some of the others in the conference.
03:46Hey, 10 seconds.
03:47How has Ty Simpson flown up the board?
03:49And do you think he goes in the first round?
03:51I think now the hype will make him go in the first round,
03:55but I don't buy it.
03:55I don't think he's a first-round talent.
03:57I still think he's raw and has struggled in his college careers
04:01against better competition.
