The investigation into the police-shooting of Joshua Samaroo and Kaia Sealy has been completed. Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro tells TV6 News, he is awaiting one final document following which the file will be forwarded to the DPP's Office, and he says, the TTPS is eagerly awaiting the outcome. Rynessa Cutting has more.

00:11govara reports that the police investigation into the incident has been completed given that this
00:17topic is one which has garnered significant public attention over the past two months
00:22in response i can advise you and the public that the investigation into the police involved shooting
00:30which resulted in the death of mr joshua samaru and injuries to miss kaya sealy has progressed to an
00:36advanced stage the investigative file is now a state of readiness for the ttps to return to the office of
00:43director of public prosecutions mr roger gaspard however at this time we are awaiting a final report
00:51from the forensic science center once that report is received the complete file will be submitted to
00:59the dpp for further direction the ttps had come in for strong condemnation from some quarters
01:05after cctv footage of the fatal police shooting found its way into the public domain however the
01:11commissioner is giving his word that the ttps will brief the public in due course and most assuredly
01:18we will provide an update to the public as soon as that process is completed i have always asked the
01:25public to let the investigation progress and to provide the necessary information and assistance
01:32to investigators i would like to thank the public for heeding that call as we the ttps along with the
01:39public eagerly await the forensic report and subsequent advice and directions from the director of public
01:46prosecutions following the incident on january 20th the police commissioner had stated that he had found
