2026 MXGP of Andalucia MX2 Time Practice
Transcript
00:22Hello everybody and welcome to round two of the FIM Motocross World Championship.
00:27We are live in southwestern Spain, the MXGP of Andalusia.
00:33We are just outside the town of Almonte and what a beautiful little place it is as well.
00:39We're not too far away from the coast, the south coast.
00:42We're just over the border from Portugal.
00:46And now, just as we go live, the weather is about to play ball as well.
00:50The sun coming out for just the second time this weekend.
00:53We had a sunny afternoon yesterday on Friday, just in time for the practice starts.
00:58What's all the fuss about? Look, Lisa Leyland, I gave her grief in the studio show a few moments ago
01:04about not being hospitable, not bringing the weather, being stingy with it.
01:08But look at that, she's been online, Googled it up, had it delivered, Amazon.
01:14And here we are, getting ready for the MX2 time practice session.
01:18The second one of the season, round one in Argentina was just two weekends ago.
01:22Simon Langenfelder arrives here with a 50-point lead and the championship leader's red plate.
01:26Guilherme Perez, the home favorite, three points behind him in second.
01:29And his teammate at Triumph Factory MX2 Racing is just four points behind him in third.
01:37And we've got Liam Evertz and Matisse Valan running out the top five in the championship.
01:40And when we had time practice, which determines the grid position last time out in Argentina,
01:46it was Sasha Coonan, who had a perfect day on Saturday.
01:50He was fastest in the free practice, the time practice,
01:52and he came away with the time practice poll as well,
01:56which gave him first gate pick for the heat race, the qualifying race later on.
02:01Simon Langenfelder came away with second fastest time, Camden McClellan third,
02:04Liam Evertz fourth, and Matisse Valan was fifth.
02:08And of course, we'll see how we go this weekend as well.
02:10A brand new track here in Almonte, not brand new to the Spanish.
02:14They had a Spanish championship here last year, and they also have had a lot of other races over the
02:21course of the years,
02:21but it's had a bit of a glow up, as Lisa Lalo Leyland referred to it the other day in
02:26her welcome message.
02:27So a bit of a makeover, a bit of a facelift, and it's surprised quite a few people.
02:32Yes, we've had a bit of rain over the last couple of days in the evenings, I might add.
02:36So probably from about 9 o'clock on Thursday night through Friday,
02:40and then last night from about 10 o'clock through the early hours of the morning,
02:43which is a shame because on Friday the circuit was just coming nice.
02:47And actually, circuit conditions aren't that bad.
02:50It's a mix of sand, soft in some places, hard and slick in others,
02:54just with the unpredictable nature of the changing terrain.
02:56It's not got the same kind of level of consistency throughout the track like a normal sand track would have.
03:03But credit to the organizers here, they've done a fantastic job getting this venue up and running.
03:08Lots of hospitality areas, lots of grandstands, a lot of fans packing their way around this Almonte circuit as well.
03:13So we're just a few moments away then from going live with this time practice session.
03:22And you can see the riders down there in the waiting zone, got the pit lane there full upstairs and
03:28downstairs.
03:29Lisa Leyland is there now, as we can see.
03:32Lisa, you finally ordered the sun.
03:34I'm here, yes.
03:34It's shining on Lisa Leyland.
03:36I told you I'd bring the sun.
03:37I'm in pit lane, Paul.
03:39I'll be here for both time practice sessions.
03:40My goal is to try and keep my white jersey as white as possible by the end of the second
03:45MXGP time practice.
03:47But I really fancy my chances with that.
03:50What about the white trainers?
03:53I'll tell you what I've been doing.
03:54Do you know what I've been doing?
03:55I've been catching up with some of the guys down here in pit lane.
03:59And it's a new track like you mentioned to the paddock.
04:01So they were using the free practice session this morning to kind of learn the track, to memorize the track.
04:06And I was told that it's actually quite an easy track in that sense to learn it.
04:11But this time practice session will be fine tuning everything to get the most speed, to get the most time
04:17out of the track.
04:17You know, how late you can break in the corners.
04:20Can you scrub that jump to get the most time out?
04:22So I'll be fine tuning everything.
04:25I was told it's a fun layout.
04:26It's a fun track.
04:28Unpredictable.
04:29It's tricky.
04:30The key is to stay on two wheels.
04:32It's unpredictable due to mother nature.
04:35But yeah, at this stage, it's just seeing how it evolves, Paul, because no one really knows just yet.
04:39What about Rasmus Jorgensen?
04:41He was in our studio show.
04:42He had some wise words of wisdom for you.
04:45What kind of track is it?
04:46It's a dirt track.
04:48And what kind of things, you know, the technical element on the bikes, wheels?
04:52Oh, they're round.
04:53Oh, yeah.
04:53Okay.
04:54They're round wheels.
04:54Thanks for that, RJ.
04:56Well, we'll tap in with you a little bit later on, Lisa.
04:58Lotte Van Drunen, one of the eager beavers to get away there as she leaves on the 401 DeBart's Yamaha.
05:04So, the two-time WMX world champion coming in as a wild card like she has done on a couple
05:13of occasions in the past couple of years.
05:15Eager to get racing.
05:16And why not?
05:17She rides with the boys in the Netherlands.
05:19She was victorious a week ago at Oss.
05:22And here she is once again.
05:23There's Liam Evertz, number 26.
05:26He was fastest in the free practice session on the Nassan Hasvana as the circuit conditions are gradually improving.
05:32143.1.1.1.
05:35From the start straight, where the finish line is just the left of the start straight, we go through the
05:39first few corners as we get over the city jump and then through the left.
05:43That's the end of sector one.
05:44This is now the end of sector two, just on the face of the city, the Liqui Molly jump.
05:49We're now in sector three, which takes us through a couple of corners, through a wave section as well.
05:55And then there's a left-hander just before a Monster Energy step down a few corners from here.
06:00That is the start of the final sector.
06:03The racetrack, 1,700 meters long.
06:05And as you can see, it's already starting to chew out.
06:08So this is that wave section.
06:10A half wave and seven waves.
06:12So a half wave to the inside on the left, coming out of that previous corner.
06:14And we peel through turn nine.
06:16And then we've got that offset single there, higher to the right, because that would be deemed the quicker route
06:20through.
06:21This turn here, turn 10, into a short straight, over a couple of rollers there, and then into the right
06:26-hander that is turn 11.
06:28And as we go into the left-hander that is turn 12,
06:30that is where the end of sector three and the final sector starts.
06:34So around about now-ish, just where those tough blocks are.
06:38Grandstands there, about 1,000 people in each of the grandstands that we've got in and around this racetrack.
06:43And then we've got plenty more fans milling around the racetrack on the infield.
06:48This is the longest straight on the racetrack.
06:51You step down over that Monster Jump, over a big triple, about 28 meters.
06:54Then that big roller in the background.
06:56And then we're a couple of corners, three corners from the finish line.
06:59The rider here, rider number 140, Tommaso Loggi of Italy on his Kawasaki, just starting to get ready.
07:07But this MX2 time practice session, Liam Everts is one of the guys that is already out on track, putting
07:16in some pace.
07:17And he's gone fastest in sector one at the first time of asking.
07:20Of course, it is the opening lap, 25, 8, 2, 1.
07:24Those times may come tumbling down as the session goes on.
07:28So here is the number 83 of Maxim Groh.
07:34He was unfortunate to crash in the warm-up on Sunday in Argentina.
07:38Ruled himself out of the Grand Prix for Maddie Racing Team Honda.
07:41But back for another crack at it here today, this weekend, of course, is the Frenchman.
07:50But we need to see what Everts did, because obviously Everts in sector three heading over towards that Monster Energy
07:56step down.
07:58Down the back straight in a few corners from the finish line area, because he is already on a bit
08:04of a flying lap.
08:05And the fastest lap that he put in was a 1.43, 1.11.
08:08Sector three now, so he's down the back straight to our left.
08:12Just three or four corners from the finish line, Liam Everts.
08:20The 4.20 here.
08:22Andrea Rossi, not on a lap.
08:26Guillem-Ferez has gone fastest in sector one, though, the number 99.
08:30He is in sector two at the moment, which goes past the first grandstands.
08:34Middle area towards the Liqui Molly jump, Guillem-Ferez.
08:39So Liam Everts, a 1.44, 5.8, 1.
08:42There's Simon Langenfelder.
08:43He's getting ready to light up a lap here.
08:46But Everts was a 1.43, 1.11.
08:48He's 1.44, 5.8, 1 at the moment.
08:51Keeping an eye on Guillem-Ferez.
08:56And Ferez, 24.1.
08:58So he's only about three or four tenths off in sector two as well.
09:03He's already cleared this part of the racetrack.
09:05He's through the waves and he's heading back towards that Monster Energy step down.
09:11Here's Everts. This is coming out of turn four.
09:15But Ferez, further around the track, green in sector three as well.
09:18This is opening lap, of course, 29.3.
09:20So I think he's thrown the lap away, but that might tee him up.
09:24So we'll get Guillem-Ferez, the favourite, when he hits the line in a moment.
09:28Here's Sacha Kunin.
09:29Sacha Kunin in cruise mode at the moment, or is he?
09:32Let's have a look.
09:33The number 19.
09:34Yeah, 27.4.
09:35Yeah, he's a couple seconds off in sectors one and two.
09:37So he's just getting himself warmed up.
09:39But Guillem-Ferez, who's about to hit the line any moment now, goes second.
09:44Fourteen hundredths off of Everts.
09:48Two purple sectors, so not a bad banker for the Spaniard on the triumph.
09:53Volker's moved up to third.
09:54Carsmakers up to fourth.
09:55Julius Michele fifth.
09:57And we just wait for Sacha Kunin, who was third in free practice this morning,
10:00just to wind himself up into a lap.
10:03This is him coming out of turn 12.
10:05This is the end of sector three, the start of sector four.
10:11Triple here.
10:13About 28 meters.
10:14Then we've got that single crest.
10:16They'll float there.
10:17Then look at the braking bumps into the left hand here.
10:19Turn 13.
10:20Almost fighting the front through there.
10:22Julius Michele.
10:23He's gone fastest in sector two at the moment.
10:25He's in sector three.
10:26Matis Valence, sector one fastest.
10:28The 3.17 on the Kawasaki.
10:30So he's heading over the Monster Energy Jump.
10:34In the middle of the circuit towards Liqui Moly is Matis Valence.
10:38As Sacha Kunin on the Red Bull KTM.
10:43Decides, right, it's go time.
10:47Well, as we follow Sacha Kunin here.
10:51Sector one any moment now as he gets over the City Jump
10:54and then into the next left hander.
10:58For Sacha Kunin, that's a 25-1.
11:01He's only one tenth off.
11:03So Lisa Leland's down in pit lane.
11:04We're getting ready to talk to her.
11:05Just a general sort of stand-up to camera.
11:08It's obviously been doing the rounds down there.
11:11So as soon as we can get down there, we will do.
11:13But sector two coming to an end any moment now
11:15in the face of the Liqui Moly Jump for Kunin.
11:21And he goes through in a 23-2.
11:24So two tenths off of there.
11:30Here he is through that wave section.
11:44So Kunin then working his way towards the end of sector three
11:47in this next left hander.
11:49Target time 28-5.
11:50Kunin goes through 29-9.
11:52So time slipping away from the Belgian at the moment.
11:55Valan has gone top.
11:56So he went quickest in the first sector,
11:58but then it was eclipsed by Evertz.
12:00Evertz, meanwhile, has gone purple in sectors one and two.
12:04He's in sector...
12:04He's about to end sector three.
12:07So after the wave through the next couple of corners,
12:09that Monster Energy stepped down.
12:10We're looking at Kunin,
12:12who's not going to challenge the leaderboard here.
12:15Out of the final turn, Kunin moves up to fourth,
12:19but he's 1.1 seconds off.
12:21Evertz, three purple sectors.
12:23He's in the final sector now on the number 26,
12:25White Nostar and Hasbana.
12:33And as Kunin goes in cruise mode,
12:35Evertz should cross the line any moment now.
12:37Top.
12:37McClellan has gone top.
12:38Meanwhile, 1.43, 1.78,
12:41all green sectors.
12:42And Evertz, three purples and a green.
12:45We saw that coming from about Argentina.
12:471.42-1 for the Belgian.
12:57There's Langenfelder.
12:59Yet to put in a lap, the championship leader.
13:12Langenfelder then.
13:1425-7 in sectors.
13:16He lost a full second in sector one.
13:1823-0-0-1.
13:20He's a couple of times down in sector two.
13:21So this one is just going to be a banker for him.
13:28Sector three coming up in a moment for the defending champion.
13:31Coming out of this turn now.
13:32There it is, a 28-8.
13:33So it's four tenths off of there.
13:35But he lost that full second, didn't he, in sector one.
13:37So this will get him up the leaderboard somewhere,
13:38but not really challenging.
13:40There's that triple.
13:41And obviously quite a big jump given we're in a sand track
13:44because that jump face will rut up.
13:56Anyway, out of the final turn.
13:57Somewhere in the top ten maybe.
13:59Up to sixth.
14:01Right.
14:01Jens Walvoort has gone green, green, purple on the number 48.
14:06But it's Evertz who continues to lead the way at the moment.
14:09McClellan nine tenths behind him.
14:11Then Ferez up to third.
14:12Volant down to fourth.
14:13Times are quickly starting to come down.
14:17Kai Karsmaker is just going by there on that green.
14:20Kawasaki.
14:24It's Ferez just keeping it at a wide berth.
14:28Kai Karsmaker is going through.
14:30He's in 16th at the moment.
14:3126-3.
14:32So he's a bit off at sector one.
14:36But Ferez and Wolvoort moving up into fourth place.
14:40So the Dutchman feeling very much at home.
14:42again,
14:42here at the moment.
14:47Yet Fred's with his custom kit.
14:49Right Matisse Valant.
14:50He is,
14:51Is he on a lap 25, eight,
14:53no he's lost a second in sector one.
14:56sector two ending now on the face of the jump here for the Frenchman.
15:00and that's a 23-7 again losing another second there so imperative to try and get those laps
15:06in early then before the track deteriorates Ryder down on the exit of the corner there
15:20Sasha Kunin down to eighth at the moment Pena Gunderson up to 12th Maxim Grau up to 13th
15:24Andrea Rossi down to 18th place everybody that needs to be inside the sort of top 10 or 12
15:30is and that's Evertz, McClellan, Perez, Wolvoort, Vallin, Rachelis, Langenfelder, Sasha Kunin,
15:36Noel Zanotz and Volk and then we've got Lata and Gunderson, Maxim Grau, Carlos Rachelis
15:42is next in 14th and Scott Smulders see Vallin getting ready to go again look over the shoulder
15:52a couple of corners from the line here through this right then the left
15:56right let's see what the Kawasaki Racing Team MX2 Ryder can do this time around
16:00he's currently in fifth place at the moment the target time is 142.199
16:07and we go to Julius Mikula
16:09number 20 currently in 17th place at the moment
16:12there's Vallin then
16:19sector one going into the next left-hander the other side of the city jump
16:23let's see what it is target time 24.480
16:27Vallin goes through 24.8 so it's about four three four tenths off
16:31as he comes into land you see how the bike is wanting to skate
16:35through that right-hand turn that's how unpredictable the nature of the ground is here
16:40hops over that little crest neatly done there for the 3.17 end of sector two coming
16:46up now on the face of the Liqui Moly jump
16:49goes the fastest through there 22.701 so he's pulling time back is the former Junior
16:55Latouque winner
16:58which is that one and a half hour beach race sand race
17:03oh he just messes up there can he hold it together though
17:05surely he feels that he's got some time in him in the first two sectors
17:11let's take a look through this next left-hander
17:1528.171 is the target they would have lost time through there
17:17Vallin 28.3 not too much time
17:19so it's down to the final sector can he improve on his fifth place
17:24skies it over the triple
17:26then over the single
17:28picks it up on the back wheel
17:30and then he comes through the right this left we've got the final right
17:34oh he tried to double through there had an escape route to the outside
17:39and Vallin can he improve on fifth
17:44goes top 141 340
17:47eight and a half tenths and he was fastest in the final sector
17:51good lap that from Vallin
17:56and Langefelder moves up to second just behind him
18:00nine hundredths of a second
18:01141 435
18:04Ferez is on a 141 7
18:06three and a half tenths further back
18:07and then Everts is now down to fourth
18:10but McClellan goes top again
18:11on the number eight triumph
18:13140.9 he's heading towards the first
18:16turn a little bit loose there for Sasha
18:18Kunin turn 11 here
18:22working his way towards the end of the lap
18:25what's Kunin
18:26what's his pace
18:2824.9 he lost about a half a second in sector one
18:3223.1 he's lost eight tenths in sector two
18:3428.6 another half a second in sector three
18:37so Sasha Kunin struggling twelfth at the moment
18:40can he get himself into the top ten
18:47out of the final turn you see how deep and heavy it is there
18:50hanging off the back
18:51was twelfth
18:51moves up or not
18:53yes he does into seventh place
18:552.2 seconds off the pace of Camden McClellan though
18:58McClellan a guest on our studio show
19:01earlier on today
19:02he was in good
19:04Bantz mood
19:05there's Everts just sitting there waiting
19:08thinking when do I go
19:09do I sit there in fifth
19:10where is and actually where is
19:13a good position to start from for these riders
19:17in terms of do they feel that it's really important or not so
19:20anywhere in the top 10 12 gates
19:22from the inside from the left hand side
19:24do they need to be more to the middle
19:25I guess a lot of that depends on
19:27how the rain that we had last night
19:29that was sitting on the start straight
19:32for much of the free practice sessions
19:34I guess it depends on how much we can get that cleaned up
19:36for the races later on today
19:38starting with the EMX races of course
19:41but Camden McClellan back to the top
19:44140.910
19:46four tenths clear of Valland
19:49so McClellan is definitely the paceman at the moment
19:51we haven't seen him all session
19:57as Valland goes again
20:00buries it very deep in turn one
20:07Sasha Kuhn up to seven
20:08Wolvor eight
20:09Lata and Carlos race this move into the top 10
20:129 and 10
20:12Kaz Volk down to 11 on the TM
20:15right sector one coming to an end here
20:1724.48 is the target
20:1924.96 is Valland
20:25uses the berm this time
20:27he was a little bit chattery
20:28through there
20:29on his previous fast lap
20:31will he hop over these little bumps here
20:33yes he does
20:34just pre-jumps
20:36clears that little crest
20:37sector two coming to an end now
20:39on the Liqui Moly jump
20:3922.3 exactly is the target
20:42and he goes through
20:4323.1
20:44so he's lost a fair chunk of time there
20:50managed to pull some time back
20:51last time around though
20:52those waves pretty wide
20:54pretty big as well
20:55and obviously you hold that inside line as you go through that turn
20:59then you hit that high line
21:02turn 11 here
21:05we'll get sector three
21:0628.106
21:08how close is he
21:09dancing around
21:1128.364
21:15there's a possibility if he puts in a flying final sector
21:19decides to go double single
21:21over the triple
21:22just to try and stay low
21:24get the wheels on the ground as quickly as possible
21:25he messed up this corner
21:27previously as well
21:28but he's doubling through there
21:29he's had a little bit neater
21:32anyway he's currently at second at the moment
21:34141.340
21:39142.673
21:40that time around
21:44all right
21:44who is on a lap
21:47no one really
21:48Langenfelder went green
21:50he's about half a second off in sector two
21:5228.7
21:53he's about six cents off in sector three
21:55he's over the line now
21:57he's not really going to challenge the leader
21:59and it's a 142.196
22:01stays half a second off of Camden McClellan
22:05that's how tight it is
22:06140.910
22:08Valin
22:09141.340
22:10Langenfelder
22:13141.435
22:140.525 seconds
22:16separate the first three
22:19just nine hundredths
22:20separate second and third
22:22Perez only three and a half tenths further back
22:24then we've got Evertz in fifth
22:32all right
22:32Sasha Kunin
22:35was he stretching out that left arm
22:37the shoulder
22:37or is it just one of those things
22:38where sometimes
22:39even the slightest thing
22:41of the cuff on the sleeve
22:42of the jersey
22:43just feels like he's in the wrong place
22:45so you just stretch it out
22:45so it's just random things like that
22:50anyway
22:50hits the line
22:51to start another lap
22:53to try and improve on seven
22:54we've got seven minutes
22:55to go here
23:05into turn two
23:06just to the left there
23:07as the riders arrive
23:08into that turn
23:09there's a grandstand
23:10sector one coming to an end
23:12any moment now
23:13in this next left-hander
23:14target is 24.480
23:16Kunin goes through
23:1725.05
23:25so Sasha Kunin then
23:27chasing at the moment
23:31catches see how much more efficient
23:32Valan was
23:33through that left-hand turn
23:36sector two coming to an end
23:37any moment now
23:38we're looking at a 22.3
23:39it's a 22.650
23:41his best of the session so far
23:43for Sasha Kunin
23:45Camden McClellan
23:46getting ready to go back out again
23:48nicely through the waves
23:52the diminutive Belgian
23:54oh I tell you what
23:55he slammed into that wave
23:56mid-turn didn't he
23:58to use all of his upper body strength
24:00just to keep it on two wheels
24:02out of turn 11
24:0328.106
24:05dancing around
24:06feet off the pegs
24:08he went fastest
24:09through sector three though
24:1127.915
24:13somehow
24:14he's still in the game
24:18you cannot fault the effort
24:20can you
24:20from the 19
24:23two corners to go
24:25will he improve on that seventh
24:26he should do
24:27he's gone grey
24:28green
24:29purple
24:29will it be another purple here
24:31it probably
24:32it could be a green
24:33and he goes up to third
24:35and it is green
24:36but only
24:37wow
24:38watch this here
24:40just gets that kick
24:41and if it was about a foot taller
24:42probably wouldn't have happened
24:44because you've got that
24:45leg length
24:46to get a little bit further back
24:48over the bike
24:48just to sort of counteract
24:50all of that
24:50that was going on down there
24:52but
24:53McClellan
24:54140.910
24:55Valand
24:57142
24:58673
24:59just 0.43 of a second
25:00in it
25:01and then
25:01five hundredths behind them
25:03is Sasha Kuhn
25:04and three hundredths behind them
25:06is Langenfelder
25:06with Perez
25:07three and a half tenths
25:08further back
25:09the number 12
25:09the number 12 that went through
25:10there a moment ago
25:10Pella Gundersen
25:12the son of
25:13Kenneth Gundersen
25:14former Grand Prix winner
25:15of course
25:18but that was a good effort
25:19that from Sasha Kuhn
25:20and wasn't it
25:24four and a half minutes to go
25:36right is that latter
25:37just there behind him
25:38on the number 18
25:42yes
25:43is the answer to that
25:44see the blue fender
25:45and the
25:46yep just going through
25:47anyway
25:47here is Jens Wolvoort
25:48he's on a lap
25:49at the moment
25:50he's currently
25:52green green
25:52sectors one and two
25:54he's in ninth place
25:55at the moment
25:55so Jens Wolvoort
25:57if we can go back to him
26:00coming through
26:01there he is now
26:01on the jump
26:03oh a little bit
26:05skew
26:06Sasha Kuhn
26:06knows he's got to
26:07move out of the way
26:07Wolvoort coming through
26:10Wolvoort on a
26:11improving lap
26:26Wolvoort
26:28lost too much time in sector
26:30three though
26:32Wolvoort
26:33Ferez just went fastest
26:34in the final sector
26:35stays fifth
26:37Lota van Drunen
26:384.01
26:38she's in 20th place at the
26:40moment she's got five
26:41riders behind her
26:47Pele Gundersen
26:50the number 12
26:53on the Husqvarna
26:54here's Simon Langenfelder
26:59Camden McClellan
27:00is in sector three
27:02at the moment
27:02he's not on a lap
27:03he's on an out lap
27:04here he is
27:05but he currently
27:06sits in pole position
27:07less than half a second
27:09clear of Matisse Valin
27:11looks like he's getting
27:12ready to launch
27:14into another lap
27:15and he's gone behind
27:16Matisse Valin here
27:17Valin is on a lap
27:2025.4
27:21he lost the second
27:21in sector one
27:2224.1
27:23well again
27:24just building the
27:25intensity
27:26and I think
27:26Camden McClellan
27:27is just going to get
27:28a cheeky little toe
27:29off the Frenchman
27:31ahead of him
27:31on the 3.17
27:32unless of course
27:33Valin
27:34realizes that he's there
27:42Langenfelder
27:42four tenths
27:43off in sector one
27:43couple of tenths
27:44off in sector two
27:46nothing green
27:47so he hasn't put
27:47any personal sectors
27:48could still
27:49pull something
27:50out of the bag
27:50though in sectors
27:51three and four
27:52here's McClellan
27:54and he is going
27:55after Matisse Valin
27:58nice to get a toe
28:00when you're chasing
28:01somebody down
28:02Langenfelder's gone
28:03green in sector three
28:04Coonan's gone green
28:04in sector two
28:06so a couple of
28:07minutes to go
28:08and are we going
28:10to see some changes
28:10at the top
28:11of the standings
28:13Camden McClellan
28:14is the man
28:15in the driving seat
28:16at the moment
28:18can he stay there
28:19will he be toppled
28:21he was third
28:22in Argentina
28:31got a third
28:32in Czech Republic
28:33as well
28:34in 2025
28:36that was his best
28:37time in the time
28:37practice session
28:46Langenfelder went green
28:47purple
28:47moved up to second
28:49still very very tight
28:50Valin
28:51and McClellan
28:53still chasing each other
28:55around this racetrack
28:59no improvements
28:59in their times
29:00at the moment
29:12big pull of the tear
29:13offs there
29:15is he getting
29:15closer
29:19looks like the gap
29:19has stayed pretty
29:20static
29:24yeah looks over
29:25decides to throw
29:26in the towel
29:26Valander's improved
29:28there's been no
29:28green sectors
29:29so it's looking like
29:30he's going to stay
29:31third and he does
29:32because Langenfelder
29:34moved into second
29:36got 23 seconds left
29:37on the clock
29:44McClellan knows he's done
29:45enough he feels
29:4547
29:46Carlos Rachel is coming
29:47towards us now
29:48he's currently in 10th
29:49place
29:51on his Monster Energy
29:52Yamaha
29:54Guillaume Ferez
29:5625-4
29:57lost a full second
29:59in sector one
29:59he's not going to get
30:00another lap in
30:0123-0
30:03lost about six or
30:04seven tenths there
30:0529-4
30:06yeah so time
30:07getting away from him
30:08this is just a
30:10consistency test
30:11in pace
30:13but as many riders
30:14have said
30:15it feels strange
30:16coming to Spain
30:17normally hard pack
30:20finding a sand
30:21circuit like this
30:22here
30:23Ferez over the line
30:23should stay fifth
30:24and does
30:27his fastest lap
30:28coming on lap five
30:29he's completed 11
30:30laps of that session
30:32and it's going to be
30:33Camden McClellan
30:33for the first time
30:34in time practice
30:36then
30:37when it matters
30:38since we recorded
30:40these sessions
30:42live
30:48Simon Langenfelder
30:49will go to the line
30:50second
30:54and then
30:55Valin
30:55third
30:56nobody else
30:56on a lap
30:58Everts was happy
30:59to drop down
31:00to eighth
31:01put his laps in
31:02early
31:03lap three
31:03did complete
31:04ten laps though
31:05so maybe
31:06just didn't get
31:08opportunities
31:09with maybe mistakes
31:10or other riders
31:11or maybe just
31:12just putting some
31:13pace in
31:13just to get some
31:14consistency ahead
31:14of the race
31:15maybe putting in
31:16a few laps
31:17just to sort of
31:18see how things
31:19played out
31:28but these guys
31:29will have five minutes
31:31of practice starts
31:32but if we can grab a
31:33quick word with Camden
31:34McClellan before that
31:35of course
31:35then we will do
31:37and then we will be
31:39moving swiftly on
31:41to the MXGP practice
31:42we'll be going live
31:43there at 2.10
31:44local time
31:46we are 2.06
31:47approaching 2.07
31:48actually in about
31:49eight seconds time
31:54but looks like
31:56everybody is
31:58pretty much in
32:05calm before the storm
32:06Lotte Van Drunen
32:07down there
32:07she will go to the line
32:09in 20th place
32:10in this qualifying race
32:12to come later on
32:13Sasha Coonan
32:15was one of those riders
32:17that tried and tried
32:18eventually before
32:19he got himself
32:20somewhere up the
32:21leaderboard
32:21he'll eventually
32:22go to the line
32:22in fourth place
32:23on that Red Bull
32:23KTM number 19
32:32Riders back on track
32:33then
32:34this was
32:35Matisse Valland
32:36dancing his way
32:37round
32:37he went top
32:38briefly
32:39eventually having
32:40to settle for third
32:41just four tenths
32:43off of McClellan
32:44who was your
32:44eventual
32:45pole setter
32:46Everts
32:47had his stint
32:47at the top
32:48eventually faded
32:48to eighth position
32:49his fastest time
32:50coming on lap
32:52three of ten
32:53Camden McClellan
32:54though
32:54he put in an
32:55absolute blinder
32:56140.910
32:5829 hundredths
32:59quicker
33:00than Simon
33:01Langenfelder
33:01in the end
33:03McClellan's lap
33:04coming on lap
33:05five of nine
33:05Langenfelder
33:06nine of ten
33:10but for the first time
33:11Camden McClellan
33:12will go to the line
33:13for the qualifying race
33:13on pole position
33:30so let's give you some results then
33:33Camden McClellan
33:34he'll go to the line
33:35on pole
33:36for the qualifying race
33:37later on
33:38that determines
33:38grid positions
33:39for the races
