00:00We won it handsomely. I mean, lots of people wanted to come to the West Indies, so we checked all
00:07the boxes that the IMC put forward, and we were very successful in winning that bid.
00:15Okay, fine. How are the initial plans going before we get to the meat of things?
00:21Yes. Well, first of all, I should mention that, as I said earlier, the IMC had awarded the hosting rights
00:32to West Indies, but they specifically named Barbados as being the host country.
00:39When we started working with Barbados, we made contacts with the BTMI, the government of Barbados. The response was not
00:48very heartening. I mean, with these type of tournaments, we need to be subsidized by either the government, the tourism
00:56bodies, and sponsorship, right?
00:59Because this is a self-funded World Cup, as are all the Masters World Cups, and we need good, ensure
01:09that we're able to attract, you know, very large sponsorships.
01:13So they were not ready to say yes, and you didn't have time in your hands.
01:16Exactly. So we had to make a shift. Previously, we had held several tournaments in Barbados, but this time, and
01:24the reason being is because we knew Guyana never had enough hotels.
01:29And now the stock of hotel rooms in Guyana has risen astronomically.
