Cricket analyst Fazeer Mohammed says the West Indies have a habit of making the same mistakes over and again.

This follows the whitewash the Caribbean side suffered in the three-game T20 series against Bangladesh recently.

Mohammed says it's always a case of going back to the drawing board with little or no success.

00:00The West Indies suffered a humiliating whitewash in the recently concluded T20
00:04international series against Bangladesh and the Caribbean. Many have pointed
00:08fingers at the team's foreshowing. Reputable cricket analyst Fazil Muhammad
00:12sums it up the way he does best. How do you put that 3-0 loss to Bangladesh
00:16in context? Simple. The West Indies won the One Day Series 3-0 just the week
00:21earlier and therefore it is a reflection of the continuing inconsistencies in
00:26West Indies cricket and therefore one week the sky is falling, the next week
00:31the West Indies are potential world champions and that is essentially where
00:35the problem lies. The defeat brings about many questions including
00:39commitment from the players. Prior to the white ball formats both teams played to
00:44a 1-1 draw at test level. Why are the West Indies players so inconsistent? Why
00:48do world beaters in the franchise format around the world often appear so
00:53ordinary representing the West Indies or indeed some are likely to shine but
00:58not at the level that is expected if you're talking about representing the
01:03regional side. It is one of the probably the major consideration and concern for
01:08West Indies cricket in all formats not just looking ahead to the 2026 World Cup
01:13in Sri Lanka. According to Muhammad only time will tell if head coach Darren
01:18Sami can make a difference. He says there is still some time before the 2026 T20
01:23World Cup but the question is how are things looking ahead of the prestigious
01:27ICC tournament? The signs are not particularly encouraging because it's
01:31the same old same old when it comes to West Indies cricket. The lack of
01:35consistency notwithstanding the obvious potential among the West Indies players.
01:40Is it about motivation? Is it about money? Is it about a lack of proper guidance?
01:45Whether the captaincy level or the coaching level all of these questions
01:49remain open just as they were one year ago. West Indies had the dubious
01:53distinction of being dismissed in every single game of the three-match T20
01:57series against Bangladesh.
