A dramatic scene unfolded in Kanpur when a woman confronted and slapped a man accused of defrauding dozens of people of crores of rupees.

The incident occurred near Chakeri Police Station on Saturday evening. A video that surfaced later shows a woman entering a car and repeatedly slapping the accused while shouting, “He killed my father! I won’t let him go.”

The accused has been identified as Krishna Prakash Singhania, who is alleged to have cheated around 35 people of more than ₹2 crore in the name of investments, loans, land deals, business opportunities and stock market profits.

In the viral clip, Singhania can be seen sitting inside a car wearing a white shirt, while a woman in a yellow suit grabs him and slaps him repeatedly. When she accused him of withdrawing ₹20 lakh from her father’s account, he allegedly responded that the money belonged to someone else, which further enraged her.

People gathered around the car tried to calm the woman, but she continued beating the accused until bystanders intervened and handed him over to the police.

According to victims, Singhania had allegedly been evading them for months. On Saturday, he reportedly called several victims to Lal Bangla on the pretext of returning their money. When they confronted him on the way, an argument broke out that escalated into the assault.

After news of his detention spread, about a dozen victims reached the police station and filed complaints. Victims including Ravi Prakash, Vipin, Sharda, and Samreen Fatima alleged they had collectively lost more than ₹2 crore to the accused.

Police official Bhanu Pratap Singh confirmed that the accused has been detained and is being interrogated. Authorities said further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
