A tragic road accident in Lucknow claimed the life of a 18-year-old Class 12 student after his motorcycle crashed into a divider near Janeshwar Mishra Park.

The deceased has been identified as Naitik Kumar, a resident of Gomti Nagar Extension. His father, Ram Iqbal, works in the electricity department.

According to reports, Naitik had gone for a morning ride with friends Aditya Srivastava and Krishna Singh, each riding separate bikes. Around 7:30 am near Gate No. 5 of the park, the three were reportedly racing when a scooter suddenly came in front of Naitik, who was riding a Royal Enfield Bullet.

Before he could react, the Bullet collided with the scooter. The impact threw Naitik off the bike and he hit the road divider, suffering severe head injuries. Aditya, who was riding a Kawasaki Ninja behind him, also lost control and fell, while Krishna fell on the road as well.

Bystanders rushed the injured students to the hospital, where doctors declared Naitik dead during treatment. The other two sustained minor injuries and were later discharged.

While being taken to the hospital, Aditya reportedly recorded a video inside the ambulance. After learning about Naitik’s death, he shared the clip on social media with the message: “Everything ended in a moment.” The post has since gone viral.

Police from Gomti Nagar Extension Police Station said the body was taken into custody, but the family declined a post-mortem and took it to their ancestral village in Barabanki.

Station in-charge Sudhir Awasthi said nearby CCTV footage is being examined to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The incident has once again raised concerns about speeding and stunt riding by youngsters in the Gomti Nagar Extension area, where such videos frequently surface on social media.
