00:50So you guys are making a big move from Calgary.
01:01We've been together for 10 years now.
01:05Yeah. We met at work. We both work with the RCMP. We have four kids all together.
01:10Two girls, two boys, 16, 14, 13 and 11. We're a blended family.
01:16So, you know, we need space for everybody when we're all together. Definitely.
01:23We have three dogs. We love to spend time outside.
01:27Definitely want something with a bigger backyard.
01:30We do cook a lot. Yes. Same for barbecues, smokers. Yeah.
01:35So that's, you know, something that will be very important for us.
01:38So it's definitely the kind of town we're looking for.
01:42Not too isolated, but, you know, we'll have access to all the service of the big city.
01:50So we're looking around the million mark, mostly around 950 a million.
01:55So we have more budget for renovations.
01:58Yeah. I think we've got some really good houses to look at, so.

13:06After touring some of Fort McLeod's fantastic properties, I wanted to get a feel for what makes this area so
13:13special.
13:14I'm meeting up with local business owner Chelsea to learn more about Fort McLeod's rich past and explore the community
13:20that makes it such a wonderful place to live.

13:26Well, you run a very interesting business here.

13:29So can you tell me a little bit about this business of yours?
13:32For sure.
13:32So we have three businesses here in this building.
13:35We have Blackwood Coffee, which you see up here in the front.
13:38We have Twisted Hummingbird, which is a florist.
13:41And then Horizon Herbs, which is myself and I am a herbalist.
13:45A herbalist.
13:46Tell me what you do.
13:46Basically, a herbalist is trained to make medicine out of plants.
13:50Oh, I love that.
13:50And so that's what I do is I forage and I import and I do all sorts of different things
13:56for natural health.
13:57And I bring in products that a lot of people usually don't get access to in a small town.
14:04You have lived here for a long time.
14:06Tell me about that.
14:07Since I was four.
14:07Since you were four.
14:08Wow.
14:09That's like what?
14:10How many years ago?

14:11Just a few.

14:14So what is it like to live in a small town community like this?
14:18I really enjoyed it.
14:19Actually, when my husband and I first got married, we moved to Calgary and after being
14:22there for a few years, we decided that we wanted to raise our children in a small town
14:25and we came back.
14:26And so one of the nice things about being in a small community is it's safe.
14:31There's lots of things to do.
14:33There is a connection with people.
14:35I feel that here too.
14:37I feel that.
14:38FormaCloud really likes to party.
14:40We know how to put on big events.

14:43So there's really something for everyone for sure.

14:45Well, this was so interesting talking to you and I feel inspired to spend more time in
