00:36figuring out who Kevin
00:37was, who was the original

00:41the source personality
00:43and that was important
00:44but then after I figured out who he was
00:47what made him
00:49and what had happened to him
00:51in his conscious life
00:52it was then figuring out
00:55the reason that each and every other
00:57alter ego came into being
00:58unlike you and I
01:00they weren't born because our parents made love
01:02or had sex
01:04two different things sometimes
01:07they were born
01:08out of necessity
01:09they were born for a reason
01:11and to perform
01:12kind of perform a function
01:15so trying to figure out
01:16what that function was
01:17and what that core characteristic was
01:20they of course become three dimensional people
01:22beyond that one core characteristic
01:24but
01:26they were built around a core characteristic
01:27rather than being born just because they were born
01:29and I found that a very interesting
01:32very different way
01:34to start building a character
01:36rather than going what is my history
01:37that led me to become the way I am in this story
01:40it was much more
01:41what job do I need to do
01:42for the rest of the people that live within this body
01:44that then allows me to build a character around it
01:48Split speaks about pain
01:50in a very particular way
01:52on one hand
01:53pain is represented like weakness
01:55like an eternal domination
01:57but on the other hand
01:58pain is a sort of armor
02:01is a sort of force
02:03what does pain represent to you in the movie
02:05but also in the real life?
02:07pain for me in the movie

02:11a galvanizing

02:16that's what the movie is saying it can be

02:23we take that for granted

02:33so this film argues that

02:38is really important
02:41to kind of get a hold of
02:42for me in real life what is pain?

03:13and yeah I'd agree with him
03:14you know you want to walk out feeling like
03:16it was all leading towards something

03:24has a strong mental power
03:27and a physical disability
03:28in Split on the contrary
03:30each character reflects his mental state
03:32on his body
03:34could you describe this change of perspective
