00:08I russi hanno un satellite spia che scatta foto di non sappiamo che cosa, portacela su
00:13Harrison, come giustifichiamo un programma spaziale che non mandi qualcosa nello spazio?
00:17I think in Harrison Carter there is something of most of your most famous and previous character
00:25in some way, I mean maybe the wisdom, the truth of this character, how did you use your previous
00:33roles in order to fulfill this one?
00:35Yeah, well human beings aren't that much different almost in anything they do, they come at things
00:40in different ways and this person had to come at things scientifically, but he also had to
00:47try to see through just the mission to the idea that there's personalities that are existing
00:58in NASA that perhaps are holding some people down, that we need the best idea to get to
01:06the top.
01:09Our space program was struggling and when something's struggling you need to get new ideas and sometime
01:16ideas were coming from unexpected sources and in this instance a young African American
01:21woman had some answers that we desperately needed and yet she was being held down by not necessarily
01:31even racism but by insecurity of a man who didn't want her to be exposed to myself.
01:40Do you think, if you lived as an adult in 1961, do you think you would be a different
01:47Kevin Costner?
01:49I would hope that I would be the man I saw, but that's the beauty of movies, when we go
01:55to them, we watch the movie and we see who we hope we are and we also see who we
02:01hope
02:01we're not.
02:02But that doesn't mean we are.
02:04I get to play people sometimes that are smarter than me, braver than I am maybe.
02:09But I get to play them.
02:11But the thing about movies is it reminds us when we look of who we want to be.
02:16Which has been for you the most challenging scene to shoot in this movie in an emotional
02:22way?
02:26Well, you always know in some instance what's going to be the highlight scene.
02:31Taraji knows what scene her highlight scene is going to be, right?
02:35I know that breaking down the sign is going to be an important scene.
02:38But I find that the scenes that lead up to that become the most important to me.
02:45the coffee pot, how I, something else I'm doing.
02:49Because if I don't get those right then that scene that's supposed to be the highlight doesn't
02:54mean as much.
02:55I don't want to talk about messages, but is there anything you would like the audience
03:01will take away watching Hidden Figures?
03:03Well, I think when you make a story like this that's true and you realize that it's something
03:09that you didn't know in history.
03:11certainly in Italy, there's so much you know and there's so many untold stories.
03:16And in this instance, we have a chance to look at what 1961 was.
03:22And when we look at it, we're bothered by it, that how stupid could we be, how ignorant
03:29could we be, how arrogant, that we would not allow human beings to contribute when they
03:35had something to contribute.
03:37So when we look at it, we're a little bit embarrassed.
03:39we're a little bit ashamed.
03:41But as soon as the movie's over, we have the ability to do one more thing.
03:46This movie gives us the ability to actually challenge us to do one more thing, which is
03:52to look at ourself in the mirror and say that was 1961.
03:57Look at what embarrassed us about 1961.
04:00Where should we be now when we have this example and we should be farther?
04:06Last question, this is a very personal request.
04:10Can you please direct another Western?
04:13Yes, I will.
04:14You will?
04:15I will make another Western.
04:16That's a great news.
04:17Because, you know, it's too much time from Overrange.
04:19It was such a great movie.
04:20I'm going to come with a massive Western.
04:26We're fighting for our lives, ladies.
04:50Thanks, guys.
04:51Thanks, guys.
04:51Humans are full of voices.
04:56Wimper.

04:58I've just been waiting for them to publish the passion for this multiple years.
05:20The changes we've ever been due to this depuis of this day and asked about when the
