00:00The brilliant Mike Neville.
00:01Michael, lovely to have you in the studio.
00:04Ian Huntley, the double
00:05Soham killer,
00:07he's been on life support
00:09after an attack in jail.
00:11He's in a vegetative state. They've switched off
00:13the life support. He may die
00:15whilst we're on air. What will the
00:17legacy be of his crimes, do you think?
00:19Well, the wickedness and evil
00:21of his crimes. Let's think
00:23about Holly and Jessica, the girls who
00:25killed her. My first thoughts are with
00:26the family. All this has been brought up again
00:29so their parents, my best
00:31wishes and prayers to them.
00:33But his legacy is just
00:34why do we keep these people alive?
00:37His life support should have been cut off
00:39with a rope around his neck.
00:41And I have always said I would
00:43be the hangman. We've had
00:4560 years of liberal
00:47nonsense in the criminal justice system.
00:49How much money have we
00:51spent on keeping that wicked and
00:53evil man alive? He
00:55should have been hanged in 2003
00:57when he was found guilty.
00:58And we need a real debate about
01:00this. It's like we have an
01:02elite, we have an establishment
01:04who always vote against these things.
01:06What we need is the views of
01:08the people. Just like we had with Brexit.
01:11When we had Brexit, the
01:12establishment didn't like that. Too often
01:14the people who allege to represent
01:16this nation don't represent
01:18our views at all. And I think
01:20when it comes to people like Huntley, they should be hanged.
01:22Well, he took the lives of those
01:24two girls and therefore I believe
01:26that his life should be the ultimate
01:28price. Some would argue better
01:30that he rots in jail and
01:32is, you know, loses his freedom
01:34and therefore lives through the punishment.
01:36Some people say it's too much of a let-off to die.
01:39I don't think so. I think that moment
01:40in time when that bag gets put on your
01:42head and the rope is around your
01:44neck, that's sufficient. And then you
01:46can answer. I'm a religious man.
01:48You can answer to the ultimate judge, can't you?
01:50When you get up there and be sent downstairs
01:52to burn in hell.
01:54Is the argument valid
01:56that you could have a miscarriage of justice?
01:58Well, I think today we're in a very
02:00different situation, aren't we? We've got all DNA
02:02evidence, we've got CCTV
02:03evidence, we've got even
02:06digital devices like Apple Watches
02:08tell us exactly the moment of death.
02:10And so I think you've got cases,
02:12haven't you? So you have cases
02:14where there may be some doubt and they
02:16can be staying alive until the
02:18appeals have gone through. If there's any margin
02:20for error, you don't do it.
02:22But with somebody like Huntley,
02:24it is absolutely crystal clear
02:25what he's done.
02:26Yeah.
02:27He should have.
02:27Like Lucy Letby, the nurse,
02:29there's all sorts of debates about
02:31this and there's all sorts,
02:32and it's all circumstantial evidence.
02:35Where do you go from that?
02:36However, with Ian Huntley,
02:38there was no doubt whatsoever.
02:40Look at the Moors murderers.
02:41How much money did we spend
02:43on keeping Hindley and Brady alive?
02:46Yeah.
02:46They should have been dispatched
02:49and got rid of.
02:49Harold Shipman, Fred West,
02:51the list goes on, doesn't it?
02:53And the bottom line is that
02:55he will likely die this weekend,
02:58perhaps whilst we're on air.
03:01A truly disgusting human being.
03:04When you mention the rope,
03:06by the way,
03:07I mean, are you particularly fussed
03:08about the method by which
03:10capital punishment would happen?
03:11No, not really.
03:12No, I think it's probably the best,
03:13best way they've dispatched.
03:15We see all these things in America
03:16using gas and injections,
03:17some of which go wrong.
03:19We were quite proficient
03:21at hanging people.
03:22So would you literally
03:23bring back the noose?
03:24Of course, I think so.
03:25I think the symbol of it...
03:26Is that not a bit medieval?
03:27No, I don't think so.
03:28I think it's like the judges
03:30sit in wigs and things.
03:31I think it sets the tone.
03:33This is what's going to happen.
03:34So it's an unappetising death,
03:36isn't it?
03:37No one looks forward
03:38to the hangman's noose.
03:40A lethal injection
03:42is almost too humane.
03:43Yeah, I agree.
03:44And sometimes you've got
03:46to have symbolism.
03:47And if you look back
03:48to sort of the 50s,
03:49you know,
03:49and then the 60s,
03:50the 60s when they abolished
03:51the death penalty.
03:52At that time,
03:53a murder was front page news.
03:55You've got to kill 10 people
03:57now to get on the front page.
03:58It's too commonplace.
04:01Killing people is a wicked thing
04:02and you should be dealt with as such.
04:04Most definitely.
04:06Now, another crazy story
04:07is a very, very...
04:09A classic example of woke madness.
04:11And it's the idea
04:12that waving the Union flag
04:15is a tool of hate.
04:17We've got a voice note from this
04:19from Steve.
04:20Take it away, Steve.
04:22Morning, Mark.
04:22Steve from Basilow.
04:24Just responding to your news
04:25about the government body
04:26saying that the waving
04:27of the Union Jack
04:28is a symbol of hate.
04:30Well, maybe we can just
04:31extend that logic
04:32so that actually
04:33the waving of any flag
04:35is a symbol of hatred.
04:37And therefore,
04:38let's apply the law
04:41the same across all cultures,
04:42across all flags.
04:43Because it's not the case, is it?
04:45It's another bit of silliness
04:47coming from our government.
04:50Thank you for a brilliant voice note, Steve.
04:52Let me bring you up to speed, Mike Neville.
04:55Flying English, Scottish
04:56and Union flags
04:57has been linked to tools of hate
04:59in a leaked draft
05:00of the government's
05:01new social cohesion strategy.
05:03It warns national symbols
05:05were sometimes used last summer
05:06to exclude or intimidate
05:08and says the extreme right
05:09has tried to turn symbols of pride
05:11into tools of hate.
05:13Campaigns encourage people
05:14to hang Union
05:15and St. George's flags
05:17in streets.
05:18And on lampposts last year,
05:19supporters said
05:20it showed pride in the country.
05:22But the remarks appear
05:24in a leaked version
05:25of the government's
05:25community cohesion strategy
05:27titled
05:28Protecting What Matters.
05:30And if a flag
05:32is a tool of hate,
05:33if you're triggered
05:34by the sight of a Union flag,
05:35then I would argue
05:37this country ain't for you.
05:38Exactly.
05:39I mean,
05:39imagine going to France
05:40and saying the trickle
05:41that you can't flag.
05:41They're everywhere.
05:42They're everywhere.
05:43People take...
05:43In America,
05:44I was at a thing...
05:45I went to a thing
05:46where a whole team of people
05:48were brought in
05:48with flags
05:49and they raised every flag
05:50for every soldier
05:51who'd been killed
05:52in the Afghanistan.
05:54Absolute pride
05:55in their nation.
05:56But the left here
05:57have always been ashamed of it.
05:59I think George Orwell
06:00was the one that said,
06:01you know,
06:01the left would rather
06:02steal from the poor box
06:03than stand to attention
06:04to seeing God save the king.
06:06They are absolute traitors.
06:08They're globalists.
06:09That's the thing.
06:10They don't like...
06:10But they do like
06:11their own flags.
06:12So,
06:13waving pride flags,
06:14waving Palestinian flags,
06:16waving whatever flag
06:17is the fashion of the day,
06:19that is perfectly acceptable
06:21to the left.
06:22But flying your own flag
06:23is some kind of wickedness.
06:25It's just...
06:26It's beyond a joke.
06:27Well, we've seen
06:28other government documents
06:29suggesting that
06:30if you think
06:30we should have firm borders
06:31or national cohesion,
06:33cultural identity,
06:35you're far right.
06:36Yeah, absolutely.
06:37Every...
06:37We're all far right.
06:38We've just got to
06:39take it on the chin
06:40and just say,
06:41yes, of course we are.
06:42If you're not far right,
06:43have a word with yourself.
06:44You're far wrong.
06:45It's a badge of honour, baby.
06:46If you're not...
06:46Yeah, yeah,
06:47it's a badge of honour.
06:47The danger to this country
06:49is not far right.
06:51It is the far left
06:53that we see
06:54who are trying to destroy
06:55this nation
06:56and Hollywood.
06:57And we see it
06:57all through the establishment,
07:00the education,
07:01the policing,
07:02all through
07:03the far left
07:04have had far too much influence.
07:06Haven't they just...
07:07You're so right about that.
07:08What about this
07:09in the Sun newspaper?
07:10A vile fiend.
07:11Afghan migrant
07:12jailed for six sex attacks
07:14on three women
07:15after ambushing them
07:17as they walked to work.
07:18A migrant has been jailed
07:19for a string of sex attacks
07:20on three women
07:21as they went about their day.
07:24Sohail Amiri,
07:26doctor or engineer,
07:27you guess,
07:28was staying in an asylum hotel
07:31in Southampton at the time,
07:32demanded kisses from the victims
07:34and grabbed at them.
07:35He then went on to attack them
07:36in the most egregious way possible.
07:38Paul, the married father of two
07:40committed the vile offences
07:41over a two-month period
07:43whilst the women were alone.
07:45He's been jailed for 36 months
07:47after he was convicted
07:48of two charges
07:49of sexual assault
07:50against two women.
07:51Also found guilty
07:53of the attempted sexual assault
07:54of a third woman
07:55on September the 23rd.
07:58When is enough enough, Paul?
08:00Mike?
08:01Well, it's enough now, isn't it?
08:02Yeah.
08:03What we brought into this nation,
08:05we brought people here
08:06from cultures
08:07where women are not
08:08second-class citizens,
08:09they're third, fourth
08:10and fifth-class citizens
08:11and they can treat them
08:13as they want.
08:13My two youngest daughters
08:15live down in the New Forest
08:16and I can even see
08:17the change there.
08:19It's amazing.
08:20And we know now,
08:21we've been,
08:21all the statistics
08:22about ethnic minority offending
08:25have been concealed
08:26for about 20 years.
08:27Now they're coming out.
08:28We know that Afghanis
08:30are 20 times more likely
08:32to commit sexual assaults
08:33than somebody British-born.
08:35And yet we bring these people
08:37into the country.
08:38They bring nothing of value.
08:40What are they doing here?
08:42They're just coming here
08:43and what we're doing
08:44we're importing people
08:45who are putting women and girls
08:46particularly at risk.
08:48I can fight people off,
08:49you can fight people off,
08:50but too often
08:51they're targeting women and girls
08:53and if you went to the prison now
08:55and looked at all the people
08:56who were guilty of sexual assault
08:58if you look at my background
09:00all four of my great-grandfathers
09:02were either in the First World War
09:03or down the pit.
09:05How many of those characters
09:07who were in prison
09:08known for sexual assault
09:09would fit that pattern?
09:11Well you're so right.
09:12Dean, shall we hang on to Mike
09:13for a couple of minutes
09:14and take some calls as well
09:15because what I want to do
09:16is get your opinions
09:17on the radio and on the telly.
