00:00Morning, Sarah Pochin.
00:01Jesus Christ.
00:02I'm sorry, Jeremy, I shouldn't laugh, but I think if we don't laugh,
00:05we'd cry, wouldn't we, at the state of the nation.
00:08What is going on?
00:10I just, I've ranted so much, I'm past ranting,
00:13I think I'm going to go into a facility.
00:15I'll let you, I'm going to throw this all at you,
00:17the First Lady of Reform, we're going to talk about jury trials,
00:19we're going to talk about the Greens, we're going to talk about flags,
00:21but we're going to start with, it turns out, and I get this,
00:26that a majority of people in this country perhaps don't support
00:28being involved in a war that was going to finish quickly
00:30and Peyton Lee isn't, I get that.
00:32Nigel was at Mar-a-Lago this weekend with Trump,
00:35but the fact of the matter is, the weakness of Starmer
00:39is about his lack of leadership, Sarah,
00:41because I've always been of the opinion that you and I
00:43can disagree on something, but if you hold your position
00:45and I hold mine, that's a democracy, but he doesn't.
00:48Even when Blair came out and criticised him,
00:50I'd have taken aim at Blair and gone,
00:51this is exactly why I've got this position,
00:53because you took us into an illegal war, you idiot,
00:55but he didn't. He cozies up to Blair,
00:58he then apologises to Trump,
01:00and he's left looking impotent, isn't he?
01:03Surely one of the main functions, if you like,
01:07of the Prime Minister is to convey to the people
01:11that voted him in why he is doing the things he's doing,
01:15what he believes in.
01:16And my view on this whole situation in Iran
01:20is that Keir Starmer should have done two things,
01:22come out very clearly and explained to the British people
01:26that the threat of the Iranian nuclear capability
01:30is a long-term and entrenched threat
01:33that needs to be stopped.
01:36The second thing that Keir Starmer has made a big mistake on
01:40is not supporting our allies.
01:43And I mean by that,
01:45not necessarily in the bombing of Iran,
01:48but in allowing them to use our military bases.
01:51Our stance would always be with a reformed government
01:55that we will stand by our allies.
01:58So Keir Starmer has made two fundamental errors
02:01in the way he is communicating and explaining his position
02:05to the British people.
02:06And of course, he then U-turned,
02:08which just makes him look so weak once again.
02:14And in a time of global crisis,
02:16and let's not underestimate this is a global crisis,
02:21every country is looking to the leader to be strong,
02:24to be quite clear in their position,
02:27and to put the British people first.
02:30But you know what you've said,
02:31and you're absolutely spot on, I love you,
02:33but communicate your position.
02:36He doesn't know his bloody position, Sarah.
02:38He is so used to, I think,
02:41trying to play the I'll please all the people.
02:44If I said it, and I'll say it all, Sarah,
02:47if I had been his communications chief,
02:48the minute Blair spoke out,
02:49I'd have been high-fiving everybody,
02:51because I would have put my man out there and gone,
02:54right.
02:54The reason I did this is that we didn't end up
02:56in a position like that idiot got us into
02:58in an illegal war, right?
03:00This is my decision.
03:02A majority of you agree with me.
03:03I admit I should have done it.
03:05None of that.
03:06None of that.
03:06That's what's wrong with him.
03:07You try and please all the people all the time,
03:09you end up alienating most of the people.
03:12We know, you know this scathing tweet
03:14that Donald sent, which said,
03:16the United Kingdom are once great ally.
03:18This was Saturday morning.
03:19Maybe the greatest of them all is finally giving
03:21serious thought to sending aircraft carriers
03:23to the Middle East.
03:24That's OK, Prime Minister Starmer.
03:26We don't need them any longer,
03:27but we will remember.
03:29Wow.
03:30We don't need people to join wars
03:32after they've already been won.
03:33Do you think that tweet was the result of Nigel
03:35being in his ear over dinner on Friday night
03:37at Mar-a-Lago?
03:38But it's a very powerful tweet, isn't it?
03:41Very powerful words.
03:43You know, nobody needs support once the...
03:46Well, Donald Trump has just said the war is won.
03:48I don't think...
03:48I think we're far from that.
03:49But the point is, is nobody wants allies
03:51when it's too late.
03:53You need people.
03:53And would Margaret Thatcher have ever not stood up
03:57and stood by, side by side,
03:59with Ronald Reagan in this sort of situation
04:02and allowed the Americans immediately
04:03to use our bases?
04:05Of course she wouldn't.
04:07And that's what the British people want to see.
04:09But I'll tell you what,
04:10Starmer has got people in his ear,
04:12like mad Ed Miliband,
04:14you know, telling,
04:15oh, you know,
04:16don't worry about oil prices,
04:18let's just build some more solar farms
04:20or put some more wind turbines in.
04:22This is a crazy situation.
04:24We have, reportedly,
04:26only days' supply of gas now in this country.
04:29We are sitting on,
04:31standing on,
04:32walking on,
04:33years,
04:34decades' worth of gas
04:35under our very own feet.
04:37I don't get it.
04:38A reformed government
04:39will get gas out of our ground.
04:41A reformed government
04:42will get oil
04:43out of the North Sea.
04:44We don't need to be
04:45in this situation, Jeremy.
04:47It's got up to $114 a barrel.
04:49The oil crisis
04:50is going to impact
04:50the rest of the world.
04:51The cynics are saying
04:52that's why the Donald
04:53went into Venezuela,
04:55because he's fine.
04:55But here's the deal.
04:56I've never...
04:57I said it earlier,
04:58I'll put it to you.
04:59I'm skint, right?
05:01Literally,
05:02in a terrible, terrible way,
05:04but in me attic
05:06is a family heirloom
05:08that's worth so much money
05:10that it'll get rid of all my debts.
05:12I'm going to sell it.
05:13No, we're not.
05:14We're not going to upsell it,
05:15because it might upset grandad.
05:16Sod grandad.
05:17I'm selling it.
05:18I don't understand
05:19the theory
05:20that we're spending
05:21$10, $12 billion a month
05:23in interest on debts
05:24we cannot afford,
05:26and underneath,
05:27to coin the phrase
05:28that nobody likes,
05:29there's your money,
05:30liquid gold.
05:30It makes no sense to me.
05:31It makes no sense.
05:33But then so much
05:34of this government
05:34don't make any sense.
05:35Do you think, by the way,
05:36the Labour Party called...
05:37Some of the PLP
05:38are calling for the Foreign Office
05:40to postpone
05:40the King's State visit to America.
05:42Do you think that will happen?
05:44Or do you think it'll go ahead?
05:45Look, do you know what, Jeremy?
05:46I think the British people
05:47couldn't give a toss
05:48about the King's State visit to America.
05:50They're worrying
05:50about their energy prices.
05:51They're worrying
05:52about their bills.
05:53And the fact is
05:54that we could bring down
05:56those bills.
05:56We don't have to suffer
05:57this oil.
05:59We don't have to suffer
06:00this lack of gas.
06:01We've got all of our resources here.
06:03And a reformed government
06:04will put the British people first
06:05and worry about the energy bills
06:07in our homes.
06:08But, you know,
06:08who cares, really?
06:10I'm not being frivolous,
06:11but who cares
06:11whether the King goes to America
06:13this month,
06:14next month,
06:14or in six months' time?
06:15The fact is,
06:16we have a global crisis.
06:18We have an energy crisis.
06:19And the people in this country
06:20cannot pay their energy bills.
06:22And the people that I look after
06:24in my constituency of Runcorn
06:26and Hellsby
06:27really could not give two hoots
06:30whether the King
06:30or when the King
06:31goes to America.
06:33They cannot pay
06:34their household bills.
06:36I could completely put as ever.
06:38We're going to talk jury trials
06:39in a minute.
06:40We're going to talk about flags,
06:41but I want a straight face here,
06:42please.
06:43My father-in-law is listening
06:44in the car,
06:44and he thinks you're the best thing
06:45since sliced bread.
06:47Whilst World War III
06:48is on a precipice,
06:49Army chiefs have launched
06:50a review,
06:51the results of which
06:52have arrived this morning,
06:53into whether male soldiers
06:54can wear make-up.
06:55Apparently,
06:57stay with it, Jess,
06:58all serving soldiers
06:59have been asked
06:59whether they think men,
07:01under gender-free changes,
07:02it's all right to wear make-up
07:04with long hair,
07:04hair extensions,
07:05painted nails and earrings
07:07to war.
07:08Pete says,
07:09I'm a bit confused.
07:10How can a bloody soldier
07:12load or fire a gun
07:13with long nails?
07:14But that doesn't mean
07:14that we're sexist here
07:15on the Jeremy Kyle Breakfast Show.
07:17Is that really where
07:18we've got to
07:19as the United Kingdom,
07:20as Great Britain?
07:21You can have long hair
07:22and nails
07:23whilst the rest of the world
07:24is up in arms
07:25about what's going on.
07:26What is wrong with us,
07:27Sarah Pochin?
07:28It's awful.
07:29How utterly embarrassing
07:31for the British people,
07:32how humiliating
07:33for the British army.
07:35You're not telling me
07:36that these soldiers
07:37agree with this kind
07:38of nonsense.
07:40And I'll tell you what,
07:40under a reformed government,
07:42all of this woke,
07:44liberati rubbish
07:44goes out the window
07:46because people,
07:47young men and women
07:49that join the British army
07:50do so to protect the country
07:52because if they are needed,
07:54they will go into war
07:56and they will put
07:56their lives on the line.
07:57They couldn't,
07:58again, you know,
07:59who is syncing up
08:00this stuff
08:01in an office somewhere
08:03in Labour HQ?
08:04I'm sure of it.
08:05Mate, your morning's
08:05not going to get in it.
08:06That's military madness.
08:07Your morning's
08:08not going to get in it.
08:09Now, watch her face
08:10if you're watching on YouTube
08:11because it's going to contort
08:12and she's going to say
08:13something worse
08:13than what she did before.
08:15According to a government
08:17social cohesion
08:20strategy meeting,
08:22I can't say,
08:23Rob's going to be
08:24head-butting
08:24the windscreen of the car,
08:25flying the English
08:26and union flags
08:27on streets
08:28has been linked
08:28to tools of hate
08:29in a leaked government draft.
08:32It warns that flags
08:33are being used
08:34to exclude
08:35and intimidate
08:36and that the far right,
08:38who are the only people
08:39that fly them apparently,
08:40have used the symbols
08:42of pride
08:43and they've turned
08:43them into hate.
08:44They've also decided
08:45it would be a really good idea
08:47in 2026
08:48to appoint
08:48an anti-Muslim hostility czar,
08:51an apologist for me swearing,
08:52but no bloody sign
08:54of an anti-Semitism
08:55hostility czar
08:57anywhere in this country.
08:59Disgraceful.
09:00It is disgraceful
09:01and we cannot underestimate
09:03the creeping threat
09:04of cultures
09:07coming in
09:08and being allowed
09:09to dictate
09:10in this country
09:12how we think
09:13and how we behave.
09:15It's a foreign culture
09:16that is not,
09:17and this is not acceptable
09:18and I get,
09:20you know,
09:20I know I will get abused
09:21for saying this,
09:23Jeremy,
09:23but the fact is
09:24that this Muslim culture
09:25is creeping in,
09:26it is not healthy,
09:28it is divisive,
09:29it is being led
09:30by people
09:31who have no idea
09:32what the long-term
09:34impact on this country
09:36will be
09:37unless we stop
09:38this kind of nonsense.
09:39So I read this yesterday
09:40and immediately
09:41put a picture
09:42on my social media
09:43of me standing
09:44in front of a Union Jack,
09:46loud and proud,
09:47and I'll tell you what,
09:48when a reformed government
09:49gets in...
09:50You racist bigot,
09:51you racist bigot,
09:53you dreadful.
09:54Every public building
09:55will have a Union Jack
09:57being blown proudly
09:58from it
09:59under a reformed government,
10:01and we encourage
10:02every household
10:02to fly Union Jacks
10:04as I do,
10:05and my constituency
10:06is full of Union Jacks.
10:08Bring it on.
10:09We will not put up
10:10with this.
10:11It is racist.
10:12They are being racist.
10:13This is where I don't
10:14understand this government.
10:15You've got a Yvette Cooper clip.
10:16Can you get that for me?
10:18A year ago,
10:19when all of this
10:20happened before,
10:21right,
10:21because I think
10:22the government
10:23and the BBC
10:23are about to start
10:24a whole big thing again.
10:25I completely agree
10:26with Betty.
10:26She says,
10:26you watch,
10:27the next few months
10:28will be all about
10:28how divisive it is.
10:29A year ago,
10:30when Common Sense
10:31actually won,
10:32they did a complete
10:33U-turn.
10:34This was Yvette Cooper
10:35pretending that she
10:36loved the flag
10:3712 months ago.
10:37Have a listen to this
10:38barking mad.
10:39We actually have
10:40Union Jack bunting
10:41on our garden shed
10:42at the moment.
10:43I've got
10:44St George's flags.
10:45I've got St George's bunting.
10:47I've got the
10:48Yorkshire Rose bunting
10:49as well.
10:50I've got Union Jacks
10:52flags and tablecloths.
10:53We've got the lot.
10:54I've even actually got
10:55some Yorkshire tea bunting,
10:57which is probably
10:57taking things a bit far.
10:59And she wonders,
11:00and this government
11:01wonders,
11:01why nobody takes them straight.
11:02That was 362 days ago yesterday.
11:04She described them
11:05as tools of hate.
11:07These people turn more times
11:08than a bloody merry-go-round,
11:10don't they?
11:11She sounds so pathetic
11:12and the British people
11:13can see right through that
11:15because the fact is
11:17they're not actually doing
11:18what she's just said,
11:19are they?
11:20They're not supporting
11:21the flying of the Union flag.
11:23And it's just a fundamental right.
11:25And how can we?
11:26It comes back to you.
11:27It affects all sorts of our lives,
11:29aspects of our lives.
11:30How can we expect
11:32young people to join
11:33the British Army,
11:34for example,
11:36when a time now
11:37when we know
11:37more than ever
11:38we've neglected
11:39our defence,
11:40we've neglected
11:41our military capability,
11:42and yet we're saying
11:43the government is saying
11:44you can't be proud
11:45to represent this nation,
11:48to fly the flag.
11:48You can paint your nails
11:50but don't be proud
11:51of the flag
11:51that you're supposed
11:52to be fighting for.
11:53Bloody ludicrous.
11:54There's something I know
11:55because you sent
11:56apparently a late-night text
11:57to Christian.
11:58Is that true?
11:59It might be.
12:00Well, I didn't get one.
12:02Anyway,
12:02this is really important.
12:04One of the biggest criticisms
12:05of this government,
12:06quite rightly too,
12:07is David Lammy.
12:08I mean, honestly,
12:10if you ever, ever believe
12:11you can get anywhere in life,
12:12look at that idiot.
12:13He has decided
12:15that jury trials
12:16should disappear,
12:16the very bedrock
12:17of what you were
12:18a magistrate for 20 years.
12:20You know the importance
12:21of that by being,
12:22you know, judged
12:23by your peers,
12:24not a single judge
12:25who might have a view.
12:27High court challenges
12:28tomorrow, I believe,
12:29or at some point,
12:30and also a big debate
12:31in the House of Commons
12:32tomorrow about this.
12:33Very important issue,
12:34isn't it?
12:35Look, this is massively important
12:37and yes,
12:37we're debating it tomorrow
12:39in the Houses of Parliament.
12:40I will, of course,
12:41be speaking on this subject.
12:43It's a subject
12:43that I speak on such a lot.
12:46But jury trials
12:47is a fundamental right,
12:49it's the bedrock
12:49of law and order
12:50in this country.
12:51If you take away
12:52the right to being judged
12:54by your peers
12:55and replace it
12:56with the right,
12:58with being judged
12:59by effectively the state,
13:01then suddenly
13:02that is not justice anymore.
13:04And I feel very strongly
13:05about this
13:05because I'll tell you why,
13:06Jeremy,
13:06one single justice,
13:08there is no scrutiny
13:09of that person's decisions.
13:10So that person could,
13:13for example,
13:14give more lenient sentences
13:17out to, say,
13:18people from ethnic minorities
13:20because they are in fear
13:21of being accused
13:22of being racist.
13:23That judge,
13:24that single justice,
13:25may, for example,
13:27not give somebody
13:28a custodial sentence
13:29when they absolutely deserve
13:31a custodial sentence
13:32because they are
13:33under political pressure
13:34and that will come through
13:35the clerks in the court
13:37not to fill up prison spaces
13:39that we don't have.
13:40There are so many
13:41different ways
13:42that this is wrong
13:43and nobody is scrutinising
13:45that judge.
13:46And that's the difference.
13:48In a magistrate's court,
13:49when we conduct trials,
13:50there's always three of us.
13:52So it's always
13:52the majority view.
13:53In a crown court,
13:54you have a jury.
13:56But under this new system
13:57that will go through
13:58because they will vote it through,
14:00although I have to say
14:00that are...
14:01Hold on a minute.
14:01...socumers of rebellions.
14:03This is really important.
14:04Dozens of Labour MPs
14:05have joined the rebellion
14:06to soften jury reforms.
14:08I don't...
14:09I'm sure you're altogether right.
14:10You might be.
14:10I think Lamb is in real trouble with this.
14:12I think common sense
14:13might well prevail.
14:14I think it's ludicrous.
14:15Absolutely ludicrous.
14:16The motivation is different.
14:17So apparently 65 might rebel.
14:20They need 80 to rebel
14:21to actually stop it going through.
14:23But you're right,
14:24it's getting very close.
14:25But they are rebelling
14:26because they're concerned
14:28about access to legal aid.
14:30Those Labour MPs
14:31are concerned about restrictions
14:32to legal aid, for example.
14:33I am concerned
14:35about the fundamental right
14:37to be tried
14:39by your peers
14:40in this country
14:40and the risks
14:41of one single person
14:43that is not scrutinised
14:44and the prejudice
14:46that he or she
14:47may have creeping
14:48into judgements.
14:50And that is not justice.
14:51Couldn't agree more.
14:52Love having you on.
14:53We'll be watching you
14:54in your silk blouse
14:55tomorrow
14:56in the House of Commons,
14:57giving it large
14:58because you know
14:58all about that justice thing.
15:00Really good to have you on.
15:01Thank you so much.
