00:00If people want college athletes to stay at their new school for a full year after they transfer,
00:06then head coaches must be required to stay with their teams all the way through the final
00:10game of the season, including the bowl games. Your thoughts, lift it or leave it.
00:18I'm going to lift that unless they're actually getting fired from their job. I see no reason
00:22why they can't stick it out the entire year. And one of those things were like, if you got to
00:26preach it, if you want it to be enforced on your team. So if a coach is leaving, why should
00:30a player
00:31be expected to also just like stick it out throughout the entire time? If you're number
00:35one, dude, your leader is leaving. So yeah, I think if the head coaches are supposed to stay there the
00:40entire year, maybe that gets these players to sort of stick it out for the rest of the year too.
00:45Yeah. I think if you change the calendar, that kind of helps it a little bit. But yeah, if you're
00:48requiring things of the players and this is what it's going to come down to, you're going to start
00:52requiring the same things or similar commitments of the coaches. And if you want to be able to do
00:57that and be able to have it stand up in court, like there's got to have things that go back
01:00and
01:00forth. There's got to be some give and take. And so if you want these guys to stay, I mean,
01:05I think it's the way that the coaches leave now is ridiculous. Some of that's due to the calendar.
01:09If you get the calendar fixed, then all of a sudden that helps solve a lot of these problems.
01:14So hopefully they get the calendar fixed that will help solve this. And then guys won't be leaving
01:19in the middle of the season, especially when they're involved in playoff teams, either on the
01:26either on the playing side or even the coaching side, because I never thought we'd see somebody
01:30leave during the playoffs. And we saw Lane Kiffin ultimately do that this year. So there's a first
01:36time for everything. I'm going to throw another one at you here, Steele. Yep. There's only one
01:42transfer window now. People start talking about these blind transfers. There will be players that
01:50will transfer after spring ball and be able and be playing on a different team next season, lift it
01:59or leave it. Yep. In this day of age for college football, if it's possible, it's most likely going
02:05to happen. So if there's a window during that time, they're going to be dudes that end up transferring.
02:09They're somehow going to find their way onto the field. They're going to be playing for a different
02:13team. So the fact that it's possible, I think it's going to happen. I'm going to lift that.
02:18It's going to be interesting to see how that goes in court. I know people are going to push back
02:21on
02:21that and they should. They settled on one window. I believe the window should have been in May to
02:26begin with. And then everybody, they complain, well, we don't have our players the whole year or the
02:31whole off season. I get that. And that stinks, but there's going to be guys transferring at this
02:35point. Anyway, I don't know how they curtail it. I hope they do. I hope they,
02:39not every judge is using an injunction in their state and they issue a stay. And, you know,
02:44then all of a sudden it's going to be pushed down a year and it's not going to make a
02:48difference
02:48because by that time the season will be over and, you know, people just drop it at that
02:52point. And then say, boy, can't fight every single battle. I don't want to see that. Like,
02:56I don't think that that's good. I don't think it's healthy for the sport. I don't think that's
03:00something that needs to happen moving forward. And so I'm not a fan of this. I'm not a fan of
03:07it at
03:07all. Um, I just hope, I mean, honestly, I like to sit down and talk to the coaches who are
03:16going
03:16to ask players to do this and say, dude, what are you doing? Well, we need this guy or we
03:21need that
03:21guy. Listen, do you want somebody to do that to your team? Like there's rules in place for a reason.
03:28Do you want someone to come in and poach somebody off your roster right now and be like, well,
03:32well, you know, there's nobody stopping it. Other people are doing it. Well, how about just nobody
03:36does it? How about that's the answer? Yeah. And there's a little bit of respect among each other
03:42for your, the craft and for the team. So the only reason these guys are doing this deal is because
03:47people are calling them and they're offering them more money. You know, they're leaning into all that
03:52and saying, Hey, what can we do? How can we get you some more cash? And I get it. The
03:55guy's like,
03:56Hey man, we'll give you, we're going to give you another million dollars. Okay. Well, that's like,
03:59it's real money, man. I get it. But at some point still, there's gotta be some rules in life.
04:04Yeah. And I mean, that just, that can derail an entire team. If you go throughout an entire spring,
04:08you see a guy that's really climbing up the ranks and you're kind of focusing maybe your
04:11offense and your defense around this guy, being able to play a certain role. And then next thing
04:15you know, he's getting poached as soon as a spring ball is over, that's going to significantly
04:20impact your entire team. And then also, I just think that they should be focusing on football a
04:25little more instead of transfer portal NIL. Cause the fact that spring football is like,
04:29right around the corner. And it seems like no one's even talking about it. Everything's on NIL
04:33and the transfer portal that just shows that the actual product on the field is not being talked
04:38about at night because we got to worry about guys getting poached, like who's getting paid,
04:42what amount of money. So I think that's something that needs to be regulated. Certainly.
