00:00Boy, college football was so awesome to see on the tube again.
00:02I just love seeing the game.
00:04I love seeing all the pageantry that goes on with college football.
00:08Week zero was spectacular.
00:11Already storylines that we're starting to see in college football
00:15as we get ready for next week in a full slate of college football games.
00:19But my annual five most overrated college football coaches in America.
00:27And here they are.
00:29Caleb DeBoer at number five, the head football coach of Alabama,
00:35every single year he will be on the line when it comes to winning championships.
00:42You know, there's a saying.
00:43You never ever in a million years want to replace the guy.
00:47You want to replace the guy that replaced the guy.
00:50He's almost in an unwinnable situation there at Alabama.
00:53No matter what he does, no matter how many games he wins,
00:57unless you're winning national championships, you will always be compared to Bear Bryant and to Nick Saban.
01:04There's no doubt.
01:05The two winningest coaches in the history of college football, those are the benchmarks there in Tuscaloosa.
01:12Caleb DeBoer, I think, is a little bit over his skis being a head football coach there.
01:18Not sure he understands the culture there too much.
01:21Also at Alabama, don't be shocked one day if you see this name.
01:26D'Amico Ryans, former Alabama superstar and current head football coach of the Houston Texans,
01:32taking over and becoming the head football coach there in Tuscaloosa.
01:36At number four, James Franklin.
01:39Boy, I'll tell you something.
01:41James Franklin had to be the most overrated coach in the country for over 10 years.
01:48What did he win there in Happy Valley?
01:51And if you listen to the media, you would swear he's the greatest coach in the history of Penn State
01:57football.
01:57I get it that the media doesn't want to talk Joe Paterno, but we talk Joe Paterno.
02:03I'm not talking about sidebar stuff when it talks to Paterno's takedown.
02:08I'm talking about Paterno, the football guy.
02:11That football program never in a million years ever resembled Joe Pa's Penn State football team.
02:19Never in any way.
02:20They were dominant.
02:21They won at the point of attack.
02:23They put spectacular players into the National Football League.
02:27And James Franklin won nothing when he was there at Penn State.
02:32And you would swear that they're going to build a statue for the guy because the media fell in love
02:36with a guy who never won.
02:39That's one thing I don't get with some of the media people that look at some of their favorite sons
02:44that coach college football.
02:45He's now at Virginia Tech.
02:47I think he is a heck of a recruiter.
02:49But when it comes to winning games, big games, that ain't your guy.
02:54At number three, it's got to be the guy in Austin.
02:58Haas, you got the most money.
03:00You're able to spend the most money.
03:02You have all the resources at Texas when you run that Texas Longhorn football program and you've won nothing.
03:10Getting to a college football playoff?
03:12Hey, thank me very much later on for not robbing a bank.
03:17If you're the head football coach at Texas and you're just getting to the college playoff or you're getting in
03:24a position to win an SEC title, hey, man, don't break your arm breaking yourself, patting yourself on the back.
03:30That's Texas.
03:31You're expected to go to national championship games.
03:34You're expected to be in that position.
03:37Sarkeesian has done nothing and absolutely is underachieved as the head football coach in Austin.
03:43Number two, Lane Kiffin.
03:45I want somebody to do me a favor here.
03:48He's not the current head football coach at LSU, and I can't wait for that September 19th game in Oxford
03:53when he's got to go back and play Ole Miss.
03:56Name me one thing he's won.
03:59Name me a place he's won.
04:00Ole Miss?
04:01Great.
04:02Where else?
04:03Tennessee?
04:03No.
04:04Southern Cal?
04:05No.
04:06Raiders?
04:07No.
04:08FIU?
04:09Okay.
04:10Great.
04:11He's won nothing, and he is being revered as one of the best college football coaches in the country.
04:19I thought to be the best college football coach in the country, you actually had to win something.
04:24Well, not here.
04:26And the number one most overrated coach in college football has got to be Lincoln Riley, the head football coach
04:32at Southern Cal.
04:33Guys, did you see the Coliseum yesterday when they were playing San Jose State?
04:41They have brought that attendance down from the Los Angeles Coliseum to 95,000 fans to 77,000 fans, and
04:50it looked like mothers and fathers were showing up to that game.
04:54Nobody was at the game to kick off the season for Southern Cal, and that's a direct reflection of Lincoln
05:04Riley.
05:04He's 6 of 13 versus top 25, and he's 0 for 8 versus top 10 football teams.
05:12Hey, guys, do me a favor.
05:14Wake me up when the guy wins a big, giant football game at Southern Cal.
05:18He just hasn't.
05:20And this guy's name was being thrown around as a potential head football coach there in Philadelphia.
05:25Show me what he's done in college.
05:28He didn't win at Oklahoma, and he hasn't won at USC.
05:33USC used to be the 33rd NFL team in Los Angeles.
05:38Now you can't get more than 18,000?
05:41That's crazy.
