00:00Hello, welcome to the CV's Flight Channel.
00:30He's only gonna get deeper Lee other than humor right you don't see a lot of emotion out of Joe
00:36Shimoda
00:36But he was frustrated last week after that confusion with the with the light and the whole thing and then
00:42being
00:42Overtaken by Pierce Brown, and I mean he was quite outspoken for Joe. He was quite outspoken
00:47I mean for good reason to me think about I mean he had a pretty healthy lead
00:52Yeah, is that a pivotal moment of the race you have these breaking points like maybe one more lap
00:57And he could have probably ridden it off to the checkered flag. So maybe there was some frustration from that
01:01that point of view
01:05How about the teenager Drew Adams?
01:07Yeah, there he is right there. He was the fastest qualifier today
01:10so let's see if he can convert that into a heat win and
01:14Put himself in a really good position going into the second 250 East Division main of
01:21The season
01:24Ready to go heat 2 250 East here in Daytona
01:30Who gets the jump Shimoda pretty good
01:34Oh
01:36Looks like that's been it on the husk of honor right here great start finishing on a podium last weekend
01:42gonna have it
01:46Look at this on the inside true adams
01:50Great work
01:52Yeah, good to see that and for him
01:54Being your fastest qualified is exactly how you want to start start tonight. This kid has had some speed
01:59He got injured last year, so we haven't seen him that much, but drew adams is the here to play
02:04I love it and he's coming up from that next program, okay, and this is a kid that
02:09Came up with cole davies
02:11He's seen the success that cole davies has had and that probably doesn't sit well
02:15He's probably thinking man. I could be that guy as well
02:18He is absolutely ride the wheels off this thing here in qualifying practice and right now in this heat
02:24You can see that determination that he had early to get into that lead here comes joe shimoda third bike
02:30in shot
02:31Honda hrc pilot tries to switch back to the low side on daxton bennick now through the warps look at
02:36joe go
02:36Still a good run by joe. That was a grown man pass right there. I I didn't think he had
02:42to run in there because
02:43Daxton made a mistake, but joe was still able to get back and now step handmakers in that third position
02:48He is to james, so we're gonna keep our eye on him
02:51But i'm just noticing something from joe and I don't know if you see it i'd like to know if
02:55you do
02:55James, but joe looks like he has way more intensity and charge in him than he had last week
03:03100% agree even though they wasn't fastest in practice between him and pierce brown
03:08You could tell coming back from those injuries to how they look last weekend to this weekend. It was definitely
03:14a huge difference
03:15So joe is here. Yeah said every time that i'm back on the bike. It's getting easier
03:19I will he said i have to build my cardio back that's probably the toughest part about it
03:25But each and every time i get back on the bike it's better and better
03:29And lee it's not just him physically that's getting better and better too
03:33It's a setup with a bike because what we have to remember is he only had five or six days
03:37on that supercross set up there before
03:39He went racing and that meant a lack of testing normally you would have had an entire off season
03:44And we also have to remember that last year that bike was a new bike to them
03:49So they don't have that data at the beginning of the supercross season 2025 to look back on because so
03:53much development has happened since then
03:55So talking to the crew they said we're looking more at smx setup as far as the playoffs go when
04:01we have his base
04:02And actually they said that kind of helps because we're talking about a track that has those high speeds in
04:07it
04:07So they were expecting to have to hit the mark here with the bike this week and it looks like
04:11they have
04:11Yeah joe's looking really good get that split lane look at this mistake
04:17Here we go it's going to be a game of chicken at high speed let's see if drew starts closing
04:21them off which he does a good job
04:23Keeping joe he moved over on him a little bit from the right hand side
04:28Took a shot on the inside man i'm telling you right now joe is a completely different rider
04:35Just the attitude on his bike and the aggression that he has
04:39He looks like he's riding the motorcycle whereas last week
04:43Understandably he was a little more chill not as much body english and just kind of putting inside the laps
04:49man
04:49He's here with authority tonight
04:51But you can see how much time he lost he made a mistake now
04:54He has to regroup and go after drew and that's the hard part about daytona because i mean that's just
04:59a normal corner
05:00But things catch you out when they do you lose a lot of time
05:04Jt we've spoken to the honda camp and as you well know they were pretty fired up after last week's
05:10confusion
05:11Yeah, they were and you really can't blame them
05:14They just you know they feel like they've cut the short end of the stick a few times on this
05:18deal
05:18Go back to the jet warrants penalty over the years go back iron man st louis
05:23It just feels like and a lot of it's just circumstantial they have really not caught a break with the
05:28penalties and the red cross
05:29Flags jet hits the game and then joe shimota trying to do the right thing and loses out because of
05:35it
05:35So yes, you can understand the frustration. I think in the end cooler heads will prevail
05:40But it's been a really tough go for the boys as hammock has got some momentum now on the inside
05:45of joe shimota
05:46Check this out. It's going to be a kawasaki one two
05:50Great work from shimota switches back side by side through the air awesome drone shots
05:55Oh, what a pass right there joe kind of slams into that face hit the brakes too hard lost all
06:01his momentum came up
06:02Just a tad uh short and on these two fifties
06:04That's all it takes and it was able sept was able to get around him
06:07If he can make his way towards his teammate and you talk about that pass james as simple as a
06:12section
06:12Is that wall jump seems you can actually make up a lot of time?
06:17And that was a perfect display of how you do that by seph hammocker
06:20You know what you talk about these rodders and how you got to put the pass behind you
06:24That's the same section that seph went down now
06:27He makes that pass on joe shimota show it shows you how you kind of forget the pass and keep
06:31moving forward
06:31That's what he's doing will
06:33James I was just thinking about that watching obviously the the footage of the crash there leading into this
06:38Heat race when we were watching it. I did get to ask set earlier how this feeling and he said
06:42physically he's fine
06:44Because we were obviously worried about that shoulder like you said that previous injury said no physically i'm fine
06:48The bike was just kind of bent up the bars were bent so he was unable to continue in that
06:52qualifying session
06:53That's great to hear there's mitch payton there on the bottom of your screen
06:56owner
06:57That monster energy pro circuit kawasaki team household name a ton of success respected by all
07:06Man great to see set he's another guy you heard me talking about how well joe shimota is riding. I
07:12feel like
07:13Same for set hammocker. I mean he just got a little more pep in his step than what I saw
07:18last week
07:18And i'm just from that impact that he took in early earlier today
07:23It's great to see how well he's rebounded from that
07:25Yeah, seth is one of the toughest riders out here and I heard a little story that we didn't ask
07:31how step was doing
07:32We have to go ask the ground are you okay because we knew step this tough when he hits the
07:36ground is good
07:37But it's starting to close in on his teammate drew adams and for both of these guys
07:41I think it'd be a good heat race huge confidence booster especially for set going down
07:45He knows he's okay and then obviously with drew if he can
07:48Hold this thing off in his first ever um heat race win and it's an impressive start for drew adams
07:54And the reason that I say that he is a you know, he's a bigger kid, you know from a
08:00A tall stature
08:03He's a little bit heavier and that makes it difficult and harder to get good starts because there's obviously a
08:08heavier float on the machine
08:10So he got a great start
08:12He's able to do that. I truly believe that he can ride up
08:15Oh, he goes up track. He almost lost it. He almost went off the back of that thing and here
08:21comes his teammate set hamica
08:23Yeah, the bike didn't like you talking about it might be down a horsepower. He about looped it out
08:28A little wake-up call right there, but still he's pretty good if he can get through this next section.
08:32He should be able to hold off
08:34Oh, it's gonna be fun to see this split lane here. I like how
08:39Seth went to the outside of that rut. Did you pick that up?
08:42The reason he's doing that because you can actually carry more speed don't get bogged down in that deep rut
08:47How do you like the way that the tracks racing?
08:49How do you like the way that your concept in the reality is working?
08:53Yeah, so far so good man. Love to see it multiple lines
08:56Great first heat win and hammock has gone down in the background shimota goes by
09:01You heard the roar of the crowd. That was why that was surprised that hammock had dropped it. That's his
09:06second crash of the day
09:08His younger teammate the 17 year old drew adams gets his first ever heat win
09:13I'm assuming he probably tried running in there
09:16Yeah, a little bit quicker getting the sense of maybe he can get by his teammate
09:20Just slides on now. Oh, yeah, he does
09:23It's almost like the inside of the rut. James kind of grabbed his side knobbies of his tire and pulled
09:28him down
09:31Look at that. Yeah, it's been lots of firsts lately
09:35in
