A video from Kanpur has gone viral showing a police constable publicly kissing a transgender person while she was recording a reel near Anandeshwar Temple under Gwaltoli police station limits.

The incident reportedly took place on Sunday in the parking area near the temple, where a large number of devotees had gathered following Mahashivratri celebrations. Police personnel were on patrol to manage security arrangements.

According to information, the transgender individual was walking ahead of the police team and making a reel, singing the song, “Chhaila Babu to kaisa Dildar nikla… Chor samjhi thi main, thanedaar nikla…” During the recording, a constable approached her and kissed her on the cheek. The video was later uploaded from an Instagram account named “Smarty Kaushal,” showing several policemen patrolling in the background.

The clip quickly went viral on social media, drawing mixed reactions, with some users objecting to the constable’s conduct while on duty.

After the video gained traction, a user identified as “sandeepkumar120799,” allegedly the constable, commented on the post requesting its deletion. He wrote that he was facing problems and that his job was at stake, urging the transgender person to remove the video. When the video was not deleted, the constable reportedly deactivated his Instagram account.

Colonelganj ACP Amit Kumar Chaurasia stated that the constable is not posted at Gwaltoli police station and may have been deployed there for duty. He added that the authenticity and exact location of the viral video are being verified and an inquiry is underway.
