“Bribe in a Diary?”: Agra Cop Suspended After CCTV Clip Goes Viral

A CCTV video allegedly showing a police officer accepting a bribe hidden inside a diary has surfaced from Achhnera police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, triggering swift action from authorities.

The accused, SSI Jitendra Yadav, has been suspended following the viral video. DCP West Aditya Singh has ordered a detailed inquiry into the incident.

Caught on Camera:
In the footage, the officer is seen seated inside the police station while a few individuals sit across from him. During the interaction, he hands over a diary to one of them. The man appears to place something inside it before returning it.

The officer is then seen taking out an item from the diary and putting it into his pocket, raising allegations of bribery.

Probe Ordered:
Police officials have initiated an investigation to identify the individuals involved and determine the case in connection with which the alleged bribe was taken. The amount exchanged is yet to be confirmed.

DCP West has also sought a report from the concerned ACP regarding the matter.

Questions Over Leak:
The viral clip has also raised questions about how CCTV footage from inside a police station was accessed and circulated on social media.

Authorities said further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
