03:30as he tries to make a pass for the lead here, Lee,

03:35those comments at Cole Davies now going up the inside,
03:38I think Joe Shimoda took those a little personal,
03:40Davies saying that nobody can touch him.
03:42Remember, Joe Shimoda's your reigning SMX world champion.

03:49on the inside of the whoops there,
03:50but Jalik Swal is doing a tremendous job out in front.
03:53He was, so right now,
03:54Cole's making up the time at the beginning of the whoops,
03:56then it kind of levels out.
03:58If you're jumping,
03:59you can see Joe lost maybe a bike length to Cole,
04:02but then it, you know,
04:03he reels that back out or it maintains it.

04:19He knew that Cole Davies was coming,
04:21and there's Joe Shimoda blasts his way through to second.

04:34It's almost like he was indecisive of what he wanted to do,
04:37whether he wanted to blitz or jump,
04:39and just got caught in between that decision.
04:42Jalik Swal may have company here shortly,
04:44but he certainly will in the form of Pierce Brown.

04:50a really impressive ride for Jalik Swal.
04:52Let's bear in mind,
04:53he's coming off a re-tear
04:54of an Achilles tendon rupture
04:56that he had back at the beginning of January.
05:00Then he had the re-tear.
05:01Had to have all that surgery
05:02and rehab all over again.
05:04Talking to me earlier,
05:05he said in the last year,
05:07he's only spent six months of that,
05:09even being able to walk on his foot,
05:11nine days on Supercross
05:12before we came into the opening round
05:14in Arlington just two weeks ago.
05:15Incredibly impressive for Jalik Swal.

06:40in this Triple Crown here in Indy.
06:43Absolutely wild how fast it goes.
06:48So, Pierce Brown finished 10th in race one.
06:52Will, he's running third at the moment.
06:54Yeah, and I was just talking to team manager
06:56Jensen Hedler at Monster Energy,
06:58Yamaha Star Racing,
06:59just saying he's had a bit of a tough day.
07:01Some bike changes,
07:02which is a real breakaway
07:03from the first two rounds,
07:04where Pierce hasn't really touched
07:05a whole lot on the bike.
07:07And asking him why that was,
07:08he said, well, I think it's just track conditions.
07:10It's tight, it's rutty,
07:12and he just needs a little bit more comfort
07:13out of the bike, Ricky,
07:14that he just didn't have.
07:15And they did say in a positive
07:17after that first race he came in
07:19and didn't ask for any more changes.
07:21Oh, that's good.
07:22When you don't have to make changes,
07:24you know exactly what the bike is doing,
07:26and then you can start racing it.
07:27You're not testing it at a race.
07:30It's a tough position to be in,
07:31but man...
07:32All right, game on here.
07:35Cole Davies set after the win in race one.
07:37Once I got to the front,
07:38basically I just rode my race.
07:40I managed it.
07:41Well, Joe Shimoda looks pretty fired up,
07:43pretty motivated here.
07:46He's right there.
07:47I mean, when we talked about the stats
07:48before the start,
07:50he's never won a race,
07:51an individual race,
07:53at that in a Triple Crown.
07:55So some motivation there.
07:56And listen, he's probably
07:57starting to feel a little bit better,
07:59getting some fitness underneath him.
08:01As far as riding fitness goes,
08:03feeling comfortable after taking off
08:05and healing up from that injury.
08:07So really no surprise because of that.
08:10So, unfortunately,
08:11he went down early in the race.
08:13The Daytona winner, Seth Hamaker.
08:14Seth's trying to work his way back.
08:16This is what happened earlier
08:17with Gavin Towers.
08:18Watch this for a close call.

08:25It was a close call for Hamaker,
08:27but it was ugly for Gavin.
08:29And he is still on the ground.

08:33of the Alpine Stars Medical Unit,

08:37So he's in safe hands now.
08:39But that was nasty.
08:40Oh, it was brutal.
08:41Hopefully he'll be all right.
08:43Joe just keeping the pressure on.
08:46And I like how Davies is responding.
08:48He's not overriding.
08:51And he was very similar to this last year.
08:54You know, when he was in a situation
08:55where he was being pressured.
08:57Davies, in my opinion,
08:58is really good at running his race.
09:01He doesn't get caught in racing behind him
09:04the majority of the time.
09:05And that is a huge attribute
09:06that he brings to the table.
09:10Points as they run now.
09:12Cole Davies would be the new leader.
09:14Joe Shimoda.
09:18And Pierce Brown would be tied for second.
09:21That's why these Triple Crowns are so awesome.
09:24Just the points fluctuations.
09:26Those are the three-race format.
09:28It's so much fun.
09:29This is going to give us an interesting story
09:30heading into the off weekend.
09:32And another thing that's good about the Triple Crown
09:35it can work for you.
09:36Imagine Pierce Brown if that was the main event.

09:39See, now he has an opportunity
09:41to make up those lost positions
09:43and, you know, kind of stop the bleeding.
09:47So, frustration in the season opener
09:52in Arlington after Cole Davies went down.
09:54He had a valiant comeback.
09:56It was an awesome right through the field.
09:58Last weekend in Daytona,
10:00it was a better result
10:02with second place on the podium
10:04first of this season.
10:05Now it's looking a lot more like the Cole Davies
10:09than we expected in season 2026.
10:13Last lap.

10:18that he got in race one here tonight.
10:22Maybe that's just the kickstart
10:23that he needed to get back
10:25into that mindset of where he was last year
10:28in his rookie season.
