02:59This is where an opportunity where Chase Sexton can kind of turn around his day.
03:04And while the track's relatively fresh, before it goes completely away,
03:08he's so good at having forward momentum and drive through the rhythm lanes.
03:11Use these conditions to his advantage.

03:18And Roxen has made the move on Plessinger.

03:22This is going to be a tough race right here.
03:25Definitely a nice rebound for Eli Tomek compared to what we saw from him in that heat race.

04:39if he can just get out of here a good night, be on the box, and then take that momentum
04:44and start rolling forward, I think that'd be a good night for Eli.

04:56And Ian Harrison, team manager, told me a very similar thing to what you just said, Ricky,
05:01in between the heat race here and this main event.
05:04The heat race, they were, after the heat race, they were making some adjustments to the bike
05:07to make it, as he described, sort of a little less reactive.
05:10So that heat race, what we saw there from Eli Tomac, he described to me was him really just
05:15doing the risk versus reward kind of judgment there.
05:18You know, as a veteran, he knows when he can and can't push, and he just didn't feel like
05:22he was in the right spot.
05:23But Ian did tell me that he thought, you know, a podium would be incredible tonight, a top
05:28five would be great.
05:29So running in second right now, this is everything that they were hoping for.
05:36Okay, this is Justin Cooper closing off Blesinger from fourth.
05:42Sexton and Lawrence just trying to hang in there.
05:45Yeah, remember that.
05:46We talked about Justin Cooper before the heat race and why around the berm and why this would
05:51play into his hand as the track slows down and gets more difficult.
05:55He likes those conditions.
05:57And he's riding well.

09:43They plan to stay in California, continue training there.

09:48We need to be better than we are right now.
09:51We need to be better in the whoops.
09:52We need to be better on the starts.
09:53And guess what?
09:54They're running one and four now in just a couple weeks removed from that.

12:41Yeah.
12:42What makes it so tough as the race goes on?
12:45Well, I think because, you know, as you're turning down out of the corner early
12:49and that preferred line that you would take over time just keeps getting deeper and deeper.
12:54The transition starts to change.
12:56But then if you've got a guy like Eli who's doing it from another line
12:59and it stays better longer, well, then there's going to be the gap.
13:04And Cooper's not willing to go see where that line is that Eli's taking.
13:09Then he's not aware of it.
13:10So, there's the difference.
13:12Yeah, there he is.

13:41So, Hunter Lawrence, a couple of key mistakes early and not the traditional good start.

13:51Yesterday, team manager for Hunter Lawrence's squad, Lars Lindstrom,
13:55was talking about the strikes of his rider.
13:58Yeah, I feel confident.
14:00He's been really, really consistent, like you said.
14:03His starts are really good.
14:04His mental approach is probably the thing that keeps him at the front.
14:09You know, even right now, having the red plate, I don't think that really is something.
14:13I think he can kind of mentally, you know, weigh some riders down,
14:17and I just don't think that's the case with Hunter.
14:21He knows.
14:22We all know it's a long series.
14:24Red played it at round six out of 17.
14:27You know, it's awesome, but it's not something to kind of, like, dwell upon.
14:31We just need to try to do the best we can every single week.
14:34It's easier said than done.

14:37Hunter is closing on Roxen, but Webb is closing on Tomac.

16:16Tomac missed that jump onto the table two laps in a row,
16:19and Webb had gone back to it.
16:21That's how he closed it down, and that lap you guys were talking about was so critical
16:24where Tomac jumped in and Webb missed it.
16:26So it's a lot of this.
16:27You either hit the rhythm or you don't.
16:29That's what this race is coming down to.

16:32Eli is able to extend his lead right there.
16:36Down three minutes left to go, plus one lap.
16:41Coop was keeping him on us, but he's lost that toe.

16:55considering how the last two weekends have went for this man right here at number three.

17:08It's tough for these lappers as well to get out of the way when the track is really ruddy like

17:15because obviously when it's ruddy, you have to hold that line.
17:18It's not like a flat track where you can move around from left to right at will.
17:24So, that's challenging.
17:31And now Tomac really starting to pull a lead.
17:34Well, let me tell you something.
17:36Hunter Lawrence was the fastest guy on the track last lap at a 53, okay?
17:41And Ken Rockson was at a 55.
17:44Hunter Lawrence is only two seconds behind Ken Rockson right now.
17:50And we've got three or four laps left.
17:53Crowd coming in line for Tomac.
17:54You picked up on that a few laps ago.
17:56He had made up three seconds in one lap on Rockson.
