We are just hours away from the start of the tournament in India and Sri Lanka.

The West Indies whose performances of late have resulted in heartbreaks for Caribbean people, will open their campaign against lower placed Scotland.

We took to the streets of Port of Spain to find out if the fans still had faith in the men in maroon.

00:00Many West Indies fans have been hoping for a repeat of 2012 or even 2016 as the men in
00:06Maroon prepare for another T20 World Cup.
00:09Having last lifted the title ten years ago, can the Windies do it again on the subcontinent?
00:14To tell you the honest with West Indies, it's unpredictable.
00:17One minute they can strike, next minute, I don't know what is going with them, you know,
00:21but we always stand a chance, we always have a great chance.
00:24I feel they have a failure or a right chance because I know this group within, they're
00:29sure they will qualify out of this group, but they are Scotland and them are easy teams.
00:34So I figure they will make it through out of this group for sure.
00:38What about going further?
00:39Yeah, possibility they can go further.
00:42Do you think West Indies has a good chance at this year's World Cup in India and Sri Lanka?
00:45Impossible.
00:46Because this is not the same thing like in the 90s when the Brian Lara was there, Imbrose
00:50was there.
00:51There are big legends there and sorry, I don't think so.
00:55Cheers.
00:56I am saying that we have the opportunity to win the World Cup.
01:00We just have to settle down and we have to put our heads together and we have to play
01:05as a competition and we could come out on top, right?
01:10Too long, sometimes we hand on the lion's throat and we release and we lose the game, right?
01:17And this gave me a headache, I had to go and take my Philippines.
01:20So I am saying, I'm wishing for the best and we have the opportunity to win the World Cup.
01:26I support West Indies when lose or draw, West Indies all the way.
01:30But do you think they have a chance?
01:31Yes, sir.
01:32I do.
01:33100 percent.
01:34West Indies all the way.
01:35The Windies are grouped alongside England, Italy, Nepal and Scotland with the opener against
01:41the Scots taking place on February 7th in Kolkata.
