Over the past ten years, make-up artist Abigail Lett has had the privilege of hosting hundreds of beauty classes across what she proudly calls the greatest little island on the planet, Tobago.

Under her brand Letts Shine, the entrepreneur has gone international, offering workshops in Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia, Barbados, Miami, Florida, Houston, Texas, and most recently Grenada. Through these initiatives, she has trained more than seven thousand students, ranging from beginner to advanced levels.

Today, Ms. Lett is sharing with TV6 News that an opportunity has opened for her in Europe, and in a matter of weeks, she will be relocating her residence. Elizabeth Williams spoke with the beautician and has this report.
Transcript
00:00What began as a modest at-home makeup service has since evolved into a full-scale beauty salon and later transformed into a beauty and business academy focused on empowering small and medium-sized enterprises.
00:16I always had a love for makeup and hair, beauty, always dressed enough to go out and then I started doing makeup at home in my second bedroom because I had a two-bedroom house and when I was doing makeup and so on, persons were interested in learning how to do it because I had teaching experience and that is when I realized that I could do makeup and I could teach persons how to do makeup as well.
00:46Founded in 2016 in Toko, Trinidad, Ms. Lett later relocated to Tobago where she expanded her reach through in-person classes, live tutorials and strategic online marketing.
01:03That digital push would propel her brand beyond local borders, opening doors to regional and international instruction opportunities.
01:13Tomorrow, I'll be going to Grenada, then Barbados and then Fort Lauderdale.
01:20All about makeup?
01:21Yes.
01:22In September 2025, Ms. Lett was contacted by one of the most prestigious makeup schools in Europe and offered what she describes as her dream job, a position as a professional makeup educator training aspiring artists.
01:38The author followed an unplanned visit to the institution during her birthday vacation last year when she walked into the school with her resume, portfolio and makeup kit.
01:54When they saw what all that I was able to accomplish in such a short period of time, they were like, this is exactly what they are looking for, for their place.
02:07And they end up asking me if I could come to teach beginners because they have a space for me to help beginners in that area.
02:16To young people, Ms. Lett emphasizes that success is not measured solely by financial gain, but by determination, discipline, commitment and endurance.
02:28I want to tell everyone, especially young persons, to reach out for whatever they want to do.
02:36It's not easy, so if you want to be a full-time entrepreneur, it's not an easy thing.
02:43But once you're passionate about what you do and you're not just doing it for the money, you will be successful.
02:49She is preparing to embark on this new chapter from March 2026, serving as an ambassador for Trinidad and Tobago, while taking Let's Shine Foundation courses across Europe.
