00:00 Acting General Manager of Magdalena Grand Beach and Gulf Resort, Jason Martin, told TV6 News that the occupancy rate at this time is below 50%.
00:11 The occupancy period between Monday 23rd and Tuesday 30th was the early month. The average occupancy is just above 34%.
00:21 Keep in mind that we are a large hotel so measured occupancy against other size hotels could be a little variant.
00:30 Mr. Martin told TV6 that the highest occupancy day is on Sunday.
00:36 Our highest peak day on the books right now is the 28th of October. We should have about 92 room nights.
00:45 That is just about nearing half the hotel but not 50%. If we get a few more nights like that, I mean from now until the end of the carnival, we will all be happy.
00:57 Mr. Martin is hopeful for additional flights on the air bridge.
01:02 The Port Authority put on 7,000 travelling seats and we hope to see some last minute business.
01:09 I haven't got anything new from Calaf yet. However, if those seats come available, we have the room stock.
01:16 We have the room stock, we have a good room rate so we are hopeful between now and that time we see a rise in occupancy.
01:23 However, villas are doing well in Tobago as occupancy at this time is 95% while Comfort Inn and the Suites is recording 100% occupancy for the carnival weekend.
