Suppliers in Tobago who provided services to the Tobago House of Assembly during Carnival in February are still waiting to be paid.

Some suppliers and contractors contacted TV6 News, as advertising for the Tobago Heritage Festival 2025 has begun despite monies being outstanding.

00:00Outstanding payments to a number of suppliers and contractors have been confirmed by the Tobago Festivals Commission.
00:08In a letter dated June 9th, the commission told those it owes, quote,
00:13We are writing to formally acknowledge outstanding payments due to your company.
00:18We wish to sincerely apologize for the delay in payments expected and any inconvenience this has caused.
00:25Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are currently unable to fulfill our commitment to you at this present moment.
00:34Please be assured that we are actively working to resolve this issue.
00:39TV6 contacted CEO of the Tobago Festivals Commission Limited, Kern Cowan, on the matter.
00:45Mr. Cowan told TV6 News the commission is actively working on bringing all outstanding payments up to date in the shortest possible time.
00:54He added, quote, We are asking for some measure of payments, but we expect in the shortest possible time we would be able to satisfy all that have been inconvenienced by this action.
