00:00Hello there and a very good evening to you on this Tuesday evening which is turning foggy for many with some frost before all change coming in from the west.
00:10The air is cold overnight, expect some frost particularly across central and eastern areas as that fog extends across many central parts of the country.
00:18And then rain sweeps in through tomorrow, still again tricky conditions if you are travelling. The rain has been relentless through the last month and that rain will continue to return and just pulse from the south as we head through Thursday.
00:35Into Friday is a blustery day with showers, dry skies towards the south and also some sunshine.
00:41For the time being then, we will be losing the cloud across eastern counties, still those showers across the north and west of Scotland, fog forming across many areas through this evening, turning dense and widespread, particularly across England as well as southern parts of Scotland.
00:59However, through the night, this is what happens. The cloud thickens across northern Ireland and western Scotland with the onset of more rain.
01:07Elsewhere, that frost continues to form and extends, so a cold end to the night, particularly across central and eastern areas with that fog which will be stubborn.
01:18But temperatures will recover across northern Ireland, western Scotland and eventually west Wales and the west country into the early hours of the morning.
01:25You can see that rain just pushing in.
01:27Here's your warning for fog from midnight. Temperatures sub-zero, particularly across central and eastern areas.
01:33And then through the night, it does turn slightly milder as the rain continues to pile in.
01:40So first thing then, tomorrow morning, it's a wet start to the day across Scotland.
01:45Northern England seeing that rain. Wales eventually seeing some outbreaks of rain.
01:49And that rain, which will be quite intense through the early hours of Wednesday morning, will tend to peter out through Wednesday daytime for Northern Ireland.
01:58Winds also a feature of the weather, a strong wind coming in from a milder direction.
02:04A murky start to the day across central and eastern areas of England with that cloud.
02:09Also some fog, which will be stubborn, lifting into low cloud through the morning then.
02:14So through the morning, we watch as this rain makes inroads eastwards.
02:18It could be heavy in places and then that wind as well, making for some tricky driving conditions with spray, surface water and also river levels already swollen.
02:30It's not going to help the situation with that rain, which will continue through the afternoon across much of England and Wales.
02:36Away from south east England and East Anglia, you won't see that wet weather until the evening and overnight.
02:42At the same time, if you're picking up from school or you're travelling home, you can see some drier weather attempting to push in across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland.
02:52But those showers across the northwest of Scotland will be heavy with thunder and hail, snow over the tops of the mountains.
02:59Here are your warning zones for rain through the day on Wednesday.
03:03Yes, yet again, it's the southwest of England as well as southern parts of Wales getting the brunt of that wet weather.
03:09So if you're travelling through Wednesday evening, it's going to be difficult on the roads.
03:14There'll be a lot of surface water, the risk of flooding as well.
03:18And the combination of wind and rain causing problems with poor visibility and spray.
03:23By this point, it's the Midlands seeing that wet weather, central southern England still heavy towards the west there, northern counties of England as well.
03:31And the first of the rain just pushing in across East Anglia and then eventually the southeast of England.
03:37That driving wind also causing problems with some high waves through the evening.
03:43If we head north then, you can see the rain continues across northern England.
03:48It's cleared most of Northern Ireland through tomorrow evening.
03:51A few showers clipping the far west of the province and frequent showers across western and northern Scotland as that rain tends to peter out across Aberdeenshire, Angus and down towards border regions.
04:02But you will have a wet evening.
04:05But notice the heaviest pulses always across England and Wales pushing ever eastwards and southwards.
04:12So by midnight, we lose the rain towards the west.
04:15But that rain continues to push in across eastern counties into the early hours of Thursday morning.
04:21That rain warning remains in force here.
04:23And we will see a return to some wet weather as we head through Thursday.
04:27So that rain warning returns to southern parts of Wales and the west country as we head through the day.
04:33By lunchtime, still more wet weather across most of England and Wales.
04:38We'll see some drier conditions for a time across Scotland, even with some brighter skies.
04:44Showers across the far north for Shetland.
04:46One or two could clip Orkney and then that rain returns to the western part of Scotland and Northern Ireland as we head through the afternoon.
04:54So yet again, a wet and windy day as that rain again pushes from the west and southwest towards the northeast.
05:04That's your outlook through Thursday.
05:06Into Friday is a case of a few showers, but also some brighter skies coming through, allowing the ground to recover somewhat.
05:14However, another band of rain moves in for the weekend.
05:18More details, check out our deep dive.
05:20This week it's with Annie.
05:21And then on Wednesday we do have our 10-day trend, which extends into the Christmas period.
05:27I'll see you later.
