00:00From the entrance to the rest area to the stage,
00:11Fet with the Saints made its mark yet again
00:14as one of the marquee events of the season.
00:18It's one of the best parties to come to.
00:20This is my first time at CIC.
00:23I'm just loving the performance, the production, everything.
00:27Me and Trinidad is the absolute best.
00:29And despite ticket prices starting at close to $2,000,
00:34the event still drew at least 15,000 patrons.
00:38It's phenomenal.
00:39They spent a lot of money putting this event together.
00:43They must be congratulated.
00:44I am not a St. Mary's guy, I'm an African guy,
00:46but I live in North Korea for 42 years,
00:49so I come to the parties.
00:54I can't wait to see the turnout and tell them what it could do for the economy,
00:56the fact that people are still supporting all of the events.
01:00Well, it says that the people still have some finance,
01:04that they can spend some money at carnival events.
01:08But people have to enjoy themselves,
01:10and I think they would save their money to me at some of these events.
01:14While patrons were treated to a star-studded lineup,
01:23including full-blown,
01:24Freetown, Iowa and Cass.
01:26Where are my pro-tribbonians?
01:29Where are my pro-tribbonians?
01:31If you're not sure that that's a member of the creators,
01:34can't you follow the worldwide world?
01:37Everybody!
01:39Say from all time, say from all time.
01:43It's not just a girl.
01:45It's not a girl too.
01:46We don't even know what she's there.
01:48What's a true-nourish internet is not.
01:51Boy, boy.
01:53And when patrons weren't taking in the live performances,
01:57they were indulging in an array of culinary delights.
02:01Among the items on the menu,
02:03crispy calamari,
02:04pepper roast chicken,
02:06and some of the most decadent lamb.
02:09Don't give me the credit.
02:12Give them the credit.
02:15Yeah.
02:16This lamb is the best.
02:18But all cravings went away when the Viking and Vyqueen hit the stage,
02:23cementing their reputation as the ultimate power-soaker couple.
02:27It's not just a girl.
02:57And so it was enough vibes in Fetland
03:00until Garland stood ten toes on his decision
03:03not to take part in the road march competition.
03:06But I see that it is intent for some people to keep it.
03:12And me and my next person going, going, going, going, going, going.
03:16I don't live in that village no more.
03:18I live elsewhere now.
03:20Okay?
03:21And I think it is disrespectful.
03:23Hold on.
03:24I think it is disrespectful
03:25to all the rest of artists in Trinidad and Tobago.
03:29They just watch it like dog
03:30and figure that they don't just meet the criteria.
03:33They have all kind of mess artists.
03:36They have Mikkel Tejia.
03:38They have Patricians.
03:39They have Dextra Garcia.
03:41They have Nile of Black Man.
03:42Enjoy everything.
03:44Enjoy everything.
03:45Enjoy everything.
03:47Right?
03:48This is 2026.
03:50Venezuela just went crazy.
03:52We still have a carnival in 2026.
03:56We are blessed people.
03:57And so they had to settle for a roadman on CIC grounds.
04:02The news was hard to swallow for die-hard Garland fans.
04:26Everybody is a roadman.
04:28You understand?
04:29So just go for it.
04:31Do your thing.
04:31Register your stuff.
04:33Let me just say I'm a roadman.
04:35I'm a roadman.
04:37I'm a roadman.
04:39Party on the road.
04:41Party on the road.
04:42But the crowd soon geared right back up
04:45as the double-M took to the stage,
04:48leaving the people calling for an encore.
04:50After his performance,
05:03TV6 News asked Marshall to weigh in
05:06on the views expressed by his fellow artist.
05:09I know people love competition.
05:12People love to put people against one another.
05:14That's normal behavior.
05:15And we understand that.
05:17We are accepting of things the way they are.
05:19But how we are and what we are about
05:21is oneness and unity.
05:23We want to live up our music right now.
05:25We want to live up our culture.
05:27It needs it.
05:28You know, it needs unity in this country
05:30on a racial level,
05:32on a class level,
05:34on an education level.
05:35And music can do that.
05:36So we want to focus on things
05:38that bring people together.
05:39They see the fans who appreciate the music
05:42and feeling goosebumps
05:43and want to cry
05:45and telling us every day
05:47what these songs mean to them.
05:49they're keeping us going right now.
05:51For real.
05:51All the negative,
05:52we're blocking that out
05:53because it's season too short.
05:55You didn't say life is too short,
05:56but before you're playing carnival,
05:58it'll be over.
05:59I am not going to not enjoy that encore.
06:02It is my absolute favorite.
06:04Also gracing the stage
06:05was Paris Coutin,
06:07who has since shot into the limelight
06:08with his collaboration with Marshall,
06:11Move Out The Way.
06:13When I made this song,
06:14I really just wanted something
06:15to shape the place.
06:16You know,
06:16I wanted something to,
06:18I will tell you this,
06:19the last carnival I was on the road
06:20and I had a soca song
06:22and it did not play on no track,
06:23no time,
06:24no time.
06:24I say,
06:25I tell my friends and them,
06:26my song next year,
06:27all songs going on play.
06:29And God just hear that and say,
06:30say less.
06:31And that was that.
06:32So, as I said before,
06:33we're just grateful
06:34to be in the conversation.
06:36I don't leave my walk already,
06:3795 is not for me,
06:38I get it on hot and sweaty
06:40for the road.
06:42Cooler, no ice,
06:43we shot in a thought,
06:43we had nice acting more the mode.
06:46This is Boris Coutin,
06:47I'm bringing it to you live,
06:48TV6,
06:48make sure to tune in,
06:49love.
