Transcript
00:00The players representing Mary Boys are quite busy as the 2025 TTCB Premier One season is
00:06currently in progress.
00:08The team lost the opener to QPCC and then earned first-innings points against Prisons.
00:13Captaining Mary Boys is Andrew Rambaran, who struck a half-century in the previous match.
00:18The next assignment for them is against Yorkshire this weekend at the Diego Martin Sporting
00:22Complex, which makes it a home fixture for Mary Boys.
00:26As such, training sessions are in progress for that encounter.
00:30What is the objective of Mary Boys in 2025?
00:32It's more about developing the young players.
00:35We have a bunch of young players on our team, so I think with the right guidance, I think
00:39our young team have good capabilities and I think we could do well in this tournament.
00:45Any personal goals that you may have for your own self?
00:48I want to score at least two three-hundreds in this Premier One last season, having scored
00:52a bunch of fifties and not carrying on, so I think this season I want to be able to
00:55carry on from fifties and make it into hundreds.
00:58Having said that, Rambaran and his team-mates are here to compete.
01:02As such, they plan to give it their all against their opponents.
01:06Well I know playing the other teams, getting outright wins is going to be a lot more difficult,
01:10so I think for us winning first-innings in the majority of our games would be our goal.
01:15I think with the right work ethic, we have the men that are capable of doing so and I
01:23think we could do that and we should come one-top winning first-innings in the majority
01:26of our games.
01:27And how confident is Rambaran about his team's chances against Yorkshire?
01:32I think we will do really well in this game.
01:35I think with the scores from the last set of games, I think men should just carry on
01:40with the performances we had and I think we should have a good outcome.
01:43Here with the team is fast bowler Justin Manick, who represented TNT Red Force against
01:48CCC in the season opener.
01:50Manick also played against Prisms in the TTCB Premier League and took three wickets.
01:56For me personally, it's about my development and making sure I do the right things over
02:01a long period of time.
02:02I think that for me, I kind of lacked that in the previous seasons.
02:07So things like consistency and putting the ball in the right area for long periods of
02:13time, I think that's something I really try to work on this season and doing the basics
02:17right.
02:18And which format do you relish the most?
02:21I love the longer format a lot.
02:24I love the tests that it gives you and I think that in the future, that's something I really
02:28want to pursue.
02:30So the red ball format, I love it a lot.
02:34Manick also sees himself as a leader who can inspire and guide the younger players
02:37at Mary Boys.
