00:05and continuing with our sportscast the most much anticipated CONCACAF Nations League schedule
00:10is out as Trinidad and Tobago now know when and where they will contest the tournament over the
00:16next couple months TNT are in Nations League Group A and will open their campaign in Jamaica
00:22where Haiti will play their home matches for the tournament that match will be staged at
00:26Sabina Park in Kingston on September 24th TNT's first home match will be four days later at the
00:32Haisley Crawford Stadium against the Dominican Republic the third match will be away to Curaçao
00:37on October 1st on the artificial turf of the Williamstead Stadium and Curaçao will come to
00:43TNT three days later at the Haisley Crawford in the final group match the top two finishers in both
00:48groups A and B will advance to the quarterfinals along with the four preceded nations in Mexico
00:54USA Canada and Panama well the Haisley Crawford Stadium will be a venue as it was last evening
01:02where things looked dicey for a while for the reigning TTPFL champions defense force as they
01:07rallied to defeat Suriname's club SV Brokey to one Brokey took a surprise one nil lead deep into the
01:14second half but super sub Nicholas Dillon rescued the army men with a brace Dillon took only 17 minutes
01:20to reverse the tide to secure army's first victory in Group A of the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup
01:27The Haisley Crawford Stadium was already familiar territory for SV Brokey having played Club Sandu there already
01:33but this time they faced TTPFL champs defense force who started on the front foot
01:40but just like they did against Club Sandu the Suriname's club took the lead
01:55unlike Club Sandu defense force could not restore parity before the intermission saying it's a looping
02:01header the TTPFL champs came out with even more focus in the second get off towards Olivier and it's
02:08great all the way through the chances kept coming for the Tetran outfit but the equalizer seemed elusive
02:14it's out the top corner but that all changed in the 74th minute Hillier bright first touch on the spin
02:20it's popped away but the rebound is slotted home defense force back on level terms
02:30Nicholas Dillon a super sub for the home side he came crashing in to slot home the rebounds
02:38however it took a double dose of fortune to prevent defense force from falling behind again
02:42crashes it off both posts and somehow it stays out
02:46as we saw Guillermo linger who was replaced by a home draw would have felt like a defeat for army
02:53but
02:54super sub Nicholas Dillon took care of that it's a brace off the bench for Nicholas Dillon it's a
03:08glorious team goal scintillating football from the hosts an important victory and three points for
03:15defense force in group a especially ahead of their next match against local rivals Club Sandu Terence
03:21Clark the double is defense force two and the man for the mission for defense force super sub Nicholas
03:28Dillon spoke on his performance and the importance of the victory for the league champions I just want
03:34to say thank Lord for guarantee me this opportunity also the coach and it's always a pleasure to come off
03:41the bench and win the game for my team and yeah that's all I could say at the moment what
03:47did coach
03:47Narigo say to you as you are approached left the bench got onto the field because it seemed that there
03:52was
03:53something that sparked his performance um well coach um he's a simple guy just told me go out there enjoy
03:58my game and with my chances try my best and put it away and as you see I did that
04:02how important was
04:04this result uh following your first uh game defeat to now get three points on the board I think this
04:09three points is very important for the team also for the team chemistry because as you saw we
04:15lost our first game and this game will give us some momentum going forward to our next game
04:20defense force have made a number of changes starting with manager Walt Norega who took over
04:25from Devon Jostling almost a couple months ago and the former AC Port of Spain manager spoke about how
04:30they turned things around to defeat Brokey I think the first half we were moving the ball a bit too
04:37slow
04:38I think uh we showed a little too much respect he wasn't brave enough in the first half uh the
04:44halftime talk I had a word with them just for them to be a little more brave on the ball
04:48and add a little more energy into the final third I think we was it was just too lackadaisical and
04:54they needed to go up on next gear which I know because I see them every day in training and
04:59and that's what they do they executed they they they went up on next gear and it showed
05:05and with the big victory in the bag the focus now is on a familiar four in the Angus Eve
05:10-led Club Sando
05:13our mindset now is Club Sando our focus is on Club Sando now as a team that we constantly play
05:19in the
05:20Premier League so we know a lot of the players on the team so now we're just going around to
05:25the
05:25the tactical work now to see where we could get some joy and where we could isolate them and and
05:32and
05:32capitalize on the chances that we're creating and then defensively shut them out well we pedal over
05:39to Belgium now that's where the UCI junior track world championships is taking place and a TNT had
05:45three cyclists on the tracks today with cafe le de sumo and a Christian Nelson both taking part in the
05:50men's sprint Nelson did not advance through the qualification round however de sumo made it to
05:56the round of 16 where he was eliminated by Belgium's Mathis de Tolonair and Zion Lucas finished 17th in the
06:04first of two heats in the men's elimination event meanwhile Shamika Hoyt will fly TNT's flag tomorrow
06:10in the women's kilometer time trial qualifying well we skip over from Belgium to Lausanne Switzerland
06:17where the Diamond League action continued today and TNT's World Championship gold medalist Kishon Walcott
06:22had to settle with a fourth place finish however he had one of his better showings setting a season's
06:29best of 83.71 meters on his fourth attempt the top man Sri Lanka's Romesh Patiragi is still proved too
06:36hard to beat as he won with a distance of 88.14 head of India's Neeraj Chopra who narrowly finished
06:44second
06:44with a distance of 88.05 meanwhile Sharika Jackson's return to competition was worse than anticipated as she
06:54pulled up with a leg injury in the women's 200 final American Kayla White took the race in a time
06:59of 22.18 seconds
07:04White gets out pretty good Jackson gets a good start as well Amy Hunt is right there with them and
07:08Amy Hunt
07:08normally runs a pretty good bend here Kyla White is just holding those two this is going to be a
07:13very
07:14very close race because Ophelia's right there oh Jackson's pulled Jackson's pulled it's Kyla White with a
07:18meter half a meter Hunt trying to run her down but White continues to go away it's going to be
07:23Kyla White who gets
07:24from Ophelia 22.18 and already there even before she pulled up she didn't look entirely comfortable
07:30she said I'm way off my best low expectations for this race but I I'm coming into this week feeling
07:37a
07:37bit better than I have but here it is any any second now it was like a hamstring there it
07:44is and it was
07:45dramatic wasn't it and the Jamaican sprinter admitted her struggles off the track ahead of today's race as
07:52she opened up on the impact of losing her longtime coach Stephen Frano Francis who passed away at 64
07:59after battling some illnesses to know somebody from here and from our I knew him from I was 19 and
08:06now
08:06I'm 32 so for that part of my life to feel like it's gone well it's gone forever I think
08:13it's really
08:14rough and he was a really really nice person yes a lot of person gets to probably experience the
08:20bad side they would say but I get to experience the good side also and he's somebody will forever be
08:28in my heart
08:28forever grateful for him and I miss them
08:35and just like that the new English Premier League season has started and it started with a bang as the
08:41defending champions Arsenal cruise to a 3-0 victory at home against Coventry City the Gunners getting
08:47goals from Kai Havertz Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard the Emirates Stadium was packed as the Gunners began
08:55their title defense against Frank Lampard's promoted Coventry City and Arsenal immediately made the
09:00promoted club feel uncomfortable at this level space for Chollis too many bodies in the way and the
09:07pressure took its toll 15 minutes in
09:23Coventry hardly had possession and in no time they were taking the ball out of the net once more
09:27what leaves it for Saka it's a gift it's two for Arsenal the champions doing champion like things
09:38the halftime whistle a welcome reprieve as the visitors struggled to cope
09:42not a million miles away but the halftime team talk made little difference as the Gunners
09:48triple their pleasure
09:59the horse probably would have hoped to score a couple more
10:02this one squirted through and needed to be saved by Carl Rushworth
10:08but it was never really a contest as Arsenal started their title defense with a convincing 3-0 win over
10:14Coventry City Terence Clark team 6 sport and staying in England home side England beat Pakistan inside
10:22three days in the opening test the English were all out for 409 to lead by 238 batting a second
10:29time
10:29Pakistan were bundled out for just 135 and lost by innings and 103 runs that win for England means the
10:37West Indies are now eighth on the world test championship table and Pakistan ninth which is last
10:43England began day three of the opening test against Pakistan at Headingley on 366 for eight
10:54overnight batsman Joffre Archer played a useful knock of 23 not out
10:57a massive shot from Archer who is looking to advance
11:01Khoram Shahzad took the last two wickets to end with three England were all out for 409 to lead by
11:06238
11:07that should be the last wicket when Pakistan batted a second time Joffre Archer removed both openers to make
11:14it 13 for two brilliant captaincy Sean Masood shipped in with 29 but it was far from enough
11:20a little bit straight and he's very strong in that area Sean Masood
11:25by the time he was gone Pakistan were in tatters at 73 for five make that 76 for six with
11:31Josh Tong grabbing
11:32three wickets
11:35Ollie Robinson also did major damage and took three himself

12:09wrist injury which he picked up during the Barcelona Open in April Alcaraz will make his return of the
12:17New York the Spaniard won the Australian Open in January and is a two-time US Open winner however
12:24he will have a lot of making up to do as he has slipped to third in the ATP ranking
